Heh, no.
This is a 1991 case and the victim is a recent Princeton graduate named Laura McKenzie. She decided to teach inner city kids in Philly instead of getting a lucrative job right out of school and ended up being shot in the school's parking lot. Poor thing.
As for the detectives, only personal stuff I can see is that Vera has an altercation with a surly woman who works in the ballistics lab. Looks like comic relief to me.

not to be nitpicky but i hope they do a better job with early 90's based episodes than they have been.
but this does sound like an interesting case and might be a tear jerker.
Im looking forward to "glory days" for now.

I don't suppose the young woman will be played by Eliza Dushku...  As for the Vera thing, I wonder if she's the same one from "Justice". Or maybe she's a younger blonde with a French sounding name, a recent transfer from the Miami crime lab... |
