I'd be interested to know who's caught a track playing on the show that they've never heard before. Maybe you'd never heard the artist before or just didn't know their work that well.
For example, I was familiar with Oasis and Goo Goo Dolls but hadn't heard "Little By Little" (from "The War at Home") or "Black Balloon" (from "That Woman") before. Now I listen to those two all the time.
Has the show opened you up to some new artists or songs?

It's actually kindof a reversal. I randomly think of songs that would go good on Cold Case when I'm listening to my iPod....

I'm often listening to music and then thinking it would probably match very good with a Cold Case. And besides I started listening more to Duran Duran and Michael Jackson since I've seen both episodes "Late returns" and "Time to crime". I always love how they choose the music for the cases, it always fits.

Oh, absolutely. I have so much music on my iPod that I would never have listened to if it weren't for Cold Case, or songs that I heard millions of times before that all of a sudden have new meaning. I will freely admit that Cold Case is the only reason I own any music by Tim McGraw.

I had already owned the more popular remix of Apologize by Timbaland/OneRepublic, and I bought the original for the sole reason that it was on Cold Case.

I truly believe that Cold Case has expanded my musical tastes in ways that even I wasn't expecting.
Let's see...I can remember listening mostly to rap music and the occasional rock song two-three years ago. Then, I started watching Cold Case on the suggestion of a friend of mine who thought I'd enjoy it (I like crime dramas, as you can tell). When I first saw it (I think it was Season 3's "Start-Up" I watched), I realized that there were good songs out there that weren't rap. Then I discovered the site that lists all of Cold Case's music, and the rest is history.
As of now, I have a lot of music from different time periods thanks to Cold Case, and have long since abandoned the rap scene for rock music, alternative and RnB (don't look at me like that, it's different from rap!), though I do listen to rap occasionally. In my case, it's because of Cold Case that my taste in music changed completely. Don't know if the change has been that dramatic in anyone else, but that's my story.
Also, this is a little off-topic, but some of my favorite bands include Oasis, Goo Goo Dolls, Coldplay, Travis and U2. I did listen to some of their music every now and again, but it's thanks to Cold Case that I gained a better appreciation for them.

I have a playlist on my iPod that goes from 1940-1959 and about 2/3 of the songs are ones that were featured on episodes from that time period. If not for Cold Case, I wouldn't have that playlist of great songs.

I love Cold Case, and the music they use is amazing. I definitely wouldn't have heard a lot of the songs if it was for this wonderful show.

Yes and no… The music on Cold Case is not the style I’m listening to so it could only expand my musical knowledge. I can count on one hand the artists that I had actually in my cd collection and I am too ashamed to cite the artists I’ve never ever heard of until CC! However, it didn’t change my musical tastes, it’s just that now I have a CC playlist with the closing songs mostly, only because it reminds me of the emotions I had while watching the episodes.

Well CC got me onto Oasis after a season 1 episode which ended with "Don't Look Back in Anger" but apart from that no. But I reckon I found out that I loved alternative music because of it (even though Oasis isn't alternative).
I've found that I don't like a lot of music they use for recent cases actually. e.g. Rihanna and Jet...

More than I can ever tell you! I heard one of my favourite songs 'of the moment' on Cold Case: "Take The Long Way Home", by Supertramp (the opening song from 'One Night'), and I also love "Only Time Will Tell" by Asia (the ending song from 'The River'). However, I'm always listening to songs and then thinking, "Wow, this would go great with a Cold Case episode..."
