No problem, Collider. Thanks for checking before posting. We hadn't actually discussed it as a staff yet, so your post allowed us to discuss and make a ruling. No script links here at Look Again.

I sorta like Eddie. I like his character. But, I just don't like how he's distrupting the food chain in the department...

Thought I'd mosey over here and peek at the first ep thread. Is it me or do they always seem to begin a new season with Jeffries? It sounds like a good case.

Second that. How do they begin it with Jeffries? Don't they begin it with all of them?

LILLY AND THE TEAM RE-OPEN THE 1973 CASE OF A MURDERED FOOTBALL PLAYER AFTER NEW EVIDENCE SURFACES WHICH MAY PROVE THAT HE WAS MURDERED EARLIER THAN WAS ORIGINALLY THOUGHT, ON THE SIXTH SEASON PREMIERE OF "COLD CASE," SUNDAY, SEPT. 28
Emmy Award Winner Bobby Cannavale ("Will & Grace," "Third Watch") Returns as Narcotics Cop Eddie Saccardo
"Glory Days" - Lilly and the team re-open the 1973 case of a murdered football player after new evidence surfaces that shows that he may have been killed earlier than originally thought.and that a steroid cover-up might have been involved, on the sixth season premiere of COLD CASE, Sunday, Sept. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Emmy Award Winner Bobby Cannavale ("Will & Grace," "Third Watch") returns as Narcotics Cop Eddie Saccardo.
COLD CASE is a drama about Lilly Rush, an enigmatic and highly effective female detective on the Philadelphia Homicide Squad. Rush's instinctive understanding of the criminal mind and her singular passion for uncovering the truth makes her the perfect fit for investigating cold cases - "yester-crimes" that have remained unsolved, some only a few months old, others going back decades. Rush and her team use their wits to take on aging evidence and witnesses with buried memories, uncovering fresh clues, digging into old wounds and doggedly pursuing the truth. Joining Rush on her mission are a team of talented detectives: Scotty Valens, Rush's confident and street-smart partner; Nick Vera, rough around the edges but a sharp investigator; Will Jeffries, an experienced veteran who's been around the block; Kat Miller, the most recent addition, eager to prove her skill; and Lieutenant John Stillman, Rush's mentor and sometime father figure. With their assistance, Rush is able to take on the toughest cases, giving voice to victims unable to speak for themselves - making sure none is ever forgotten.

this case was supposed to be from 1974... writers always chose the same years... 1973, 1978, 1989, 1998, 2006... can't they chose a year from so many we have not have a single case 70's: 1970, 1971, 1974 60's: 1960, 1961, 1966,1967 50's: 1950, 51(shore leave is supposed to be from '51 but who knows),52,55,56,57,59

Notwithstanding those episodes based around a very specific event in a very specific year (a la World's End)... so long as they have the decade and general time period figured out for the story, logic dictates they pick a specific year that has songs which A) are easily accessible in copyright terms, and B) suit the mood and theme of the episode.

But 1973 and 1974 is almost the same yearm they could use the same music...However, I hope that "Shore Leave" would be from 1951... never had a case from that year and season 5 only had "Slipping" from a year never used before(1962). I hope this season is not gonna use the same years they always use(1998, 1978, 1973 Oh, this was already used, 2006)

I hope this season is not gonna use the same years they always use(1998, 1978, 1973 Oh, this was already used, 2006) geez what difference does it make? if it's about music selection..here's a shocker: no episode has ever played music of that particular year in a row. there's only a handful of pop hits released in a given year. i noticed that in every episode have played music that were released in or betweeen 1 - 3 years prior to the year period. and here's another shocker..just because a song was released in say 1974...do you really think that people stop listening to that song because it's 1975 or 76? that rhiana umbrella song which im sick of is still listened to and that was last year. does it make it less than 2007 today? if you weren't born or barely remember a time period that an episode showcases..you're not going to notice much. i know this because a lot of people who grew up in the 90's or 00's think that the 80's was some ancient period where everything was the same. they couldnt tell if a song was released in 82 was played in a episode depicted in 84. does it make less than 84? give it a rest already

collider:
the message wasn't directed at you or even meant to be an attack. i meant to only quote Eduardo's response to your post. Sorry if it was misdirected.
I've seen multiple posts by this Eduardo that was having issues about wanting a particular year if the episode showcased something a year off of what he wanted.
IMHO, i think its weird complaint. i can understand people having issues if the same era was used too much like last season but his issues are just off the wall for me. anyways my apologies to you if you felt attacked. it was a response to HIM. i corrected the "quote" thing. i think i mastered how to use the quote blocks better

My bad, coldfan74. I'll admit, I didn't see Eduardo del Roi's part quoted, and your points did seem more relevant to my part anyway. At any rate, my sincerest apologies for ranting at you.

Glad to read everything's cool between you guys. I hate to see people getting mad at each other on message boards... Let's focus on this being the first episode of the season, which is getting closer and closer, that should be reason enough to put a smile on everybody's face.

absolutely. im happy to see people actively posting what's to come in season 6 and its looking great! clearly the producers/writers are responding to a majority of people who stated that there were too many recent cases produced. this is a special message board and im excited for this season. im not mad at anyone but i found eduardo's incessant complaining about not seeing a particular year a little annoying for me not to mention negative for people who are as excited as i am. the final straw was when collider was polite to take the time to respond a rational, plausible explanation but even still wasn't enough for him. im off the soapbox now but i figured i should explain what happened in case someone reads the events heh

Just wondering why there isn't a trailer already out for this episode, I just have to ask is this going to be a one artist episode?

It is sortof shocking to not see any trailers. Maybe closer to the actual premeire. I'd guess that they'd start showing them in Mid- September.
