I don't know if any of you had heard, or even care, but here it is.They are pushing the release back to July 2009. People are really freaking out about this, even suggesting that "we" all boycott any Warner Brothers movie, including Dark Knight. It is definitely craptastic of them to do this. I mean, it is obviously just a money ploy. They want to spread their profits over two years. Dark Knight is getting them huge money. So, instead of off-putting their stats by releasing another insanely huge money-making movie, they are going to push it to next year. I'm not as freaked out about it as many people, but it does kinda suck.

I can NOT wait for Harry Potter. If they make me wait any longer, bad things will happen to the Warner Brother's Offices. Them!!!!!!!!!!! We'll plot together. LOL, just kindof looking for an excuse to use cool smilies. Because smilies are cool.

I wasn't completely devastated when I heard because I like the books better than the movies. I was really surprised, though, because they've already released a trailer! I mean, it is obviously just a money ploy. It really is. One of the reasons they said they pushed the release back was because the summer is a better time for family movies. Also, since Dark Night was such a big hit, they don't think we need two big movies in the same year. A third reason was that, with the writers' strike, a lot of movie scripts weren't finished so the competition in 2009 is going to be a lot different than what was originally planned. I guess by saying that, they mean the 2009 movies won't be as big and Harry Potter can generate huge amounts of money for Warner Brothers.

frack412, I don't beleive we've formally met. I'm lolgirlyy! It's nice to see that we have a nice Harry Potter fanbase here! And, I see you're a shipper, too! Wow, we are like brain-twins!

Apparently, the mega-serious fans are suggesting "we" boycott ALL Warner Brothers movies because of this.
By "we" I mean all the crazy Harry Potter fans. *laugh*
It sucks, I most definitely agree, but Warner Brothers isn't going to feel it if a few hundred people don't go to their movies.
Also, they did NOT push back production of the final movie(s), so that's a good thing.

Hi!!! *waves* I love Harry Potter. I can't wait until The Tales of Beedle the Bard comes out in December! ;D Yay brain-twins! I don't think boycotting Warner Brothers movies is going to convince them to release HP as originally planned. The little bit of money and viewers they'll potentially lose now probably won't be comparable to the millions more they think they'll make by putting the movie out next summer. It's great that they didn't push back production of the other HP films because of this.

Someone posted about this on another board a frequent, and they insisted that we sign this petition to "yell" at WB for pushing back the date. Most everyone, including myself, declined, since WB made this move to earn money. Regardless of what a few fans do, they won't change their minds. In the end, people won't be able to resist seeing HP, even if it's 7 months later than anticipated. The only thing I could feasibly see making any difference would be if J.K Rowling herself were to rebuke WB, but I don't see that happening any time soon. I'll wait the 7 months and go see it at midnight release. It'll actually be better for me because I won't be at school.
