Scene opens up with the song: Just to see you smile by Tim McGraw; as we first see a Tennessee license plate as the date November 13,2000 appears on the bottom left side of the screen. The Camera zooms in as we see three men aka the Sugar Boys. We see a different shot of the bridge indicating that they truck is currently in Philadelphia. A sign tells us for sure stating when it was formed in 1682 complete with the liberty bell on the bottom right side.
Inside Truck is speaking about his wife indicating that there are some troubles, as the two other men speak about another woman: Edie whom Truck would be performing with that night. The Van pulls up displaying their band name along with the woman’s ; as the scene goes dark panning across the ground and onto Truck who had been shot in the chest. Sliding now into the warehouse as a radio broadcasts the presidential recount as an unknown boxman puts the information into a box reading: Sugar T Nov 08.
Cut to normal music as we see a poorly decoration Charlie brown Christmas tree as Lilly comes up from in front pausing to look at it. We now see its Stillman decorating it; but we later find out that he had taken his daughter for a tree and thought that one needed a home. Lilly then goes to get some water nearby as Jefferies stands there drinking coffee; then he notices his old partner walking in: Ed Garret heading right towards them. He brings them a gun in a bag telling that just last week a woman used it on her husband but ballistics tells them it’s the some gun that killed his victim back in 2000. Ed then asks for their help as Stillman says “Let’s focus on the victim” as Lilly chimes in before the credits” Help this cowboy get on home”.

We see Valens and Stillman walking upstairs in the warehouse as Scotty moans about tracking some “Out of state cowboy” it’s clear that he doesn’t like country music. Standing by the box Jefferies begins speaking as Scotty sounds more and more sarcastic. Stillman then adds that Truck had been shot in front of Blue Star Longue where he then band had been playing earlier that night; mention that Rush and Miller are at Riverside Woman’s correctional visiting the woman who had shot her husband since she had worked there around the time that Truck had been shot.
Next scene opens with the outside of the jail as we cut into the interior as Kylie sits in an orange jumper while Rush and Miller stand. Kylie then begins to open up that her feature ex-husband of hers Mitch is their man; the gun was his but one night as she’s closing she hears a shot and sees Truck lying dead with that gun next to him. Miller then asks if Mitch had a problem with Truck as a flashback occurs
Something like That: By Tim McGraw begins to play as Mitch whom has a beard and thick sunglasses as he comes outside. Truck then introduces his band before Mitch states that there is a band that is from LA that is hotter now as Ty states that they had a deal. The band argues as Mitch causally states” Don’t make me get my gun”
After calling Truck a Hillbilly, he wrestles Mitch before he changes his mind allowing them to play. Flash to the present as we now see Kylie as Miller and Lilly wrap up their interview. Cut to a present day Mitch calling Kylie “A crap b*tch” turning around seeing both Vera and Jefferies standing there.
He denies shooting Truck stating that his gun was swiped earlier that night but tells them there was something strange about Dusty whom had disappeared while the band was setting up.
All I want for a Life is playing while we see a younger Kylie wiping the bar; while Dusty walks through asking Truck where his amp was. Then both Ty and Truck realize that Dusty had pawned it for some drugs before he tries to get some money from them with no avail. Cut to present day as both Vera and Jefferies start to make a connection before the scene goes to the outside of Headquarters before panning inside of the bullpen.
The squad is sitting around talking about Dusty wanting the drugs; as Vera suggests they should talk to the band. Stillman then announces they are going to Nashville as various cuts the detectives as being shown; but Lilly agrees to go saying she has been there. After drawing papers everyone is out but Scotty whom looks less thrilled to be going, since he hates country music but adds a “Yee Haw “in a sarcastic tone. Cut to next scene as we see Rush entering as the woman states that see is Charlene calling for another man aka: Big Daddy.
Big Daddy states that Dusty is here but Ty is in Knoxville as Lilly grabs the directions stating that she knows the way to Knoxville. Then Charlene asks them if they have time to go to the runaway pig; as we see a confused look on the detective’s faces; as Lt. Brown or Big Daddy state is a barbeque joint. Cut to Dusty present as we see a brief flash of him around 2000, Scotty states that he wasted a habit. Dusty confirms he had wasted ten years on that life, telling them he shacked up with a woman: Candy Cane about how she got him the drugs in Philadelphia.
Valens then asks if Truck has any problems as Dusty says it was with his brother Ty.
Flashback to 2000- Song- Counting My Lucky Stars By: Mike Stinson
We see a close up of Truck singing as we see a woman constantly looking at him, catching Trucks eyes. This is only just a rehearsal as Ty tells him that they are opening with their usual as both Dusty and Truck argue with him. Truck then states” Full Deck of Twos “sucks knowing his brother had written the song before they take a vote.
Present Day
Dusty tells Valens that they sung Truck’s song instead; as we cut back to Philadelphia seeing the interior of the bullpen as Garrett walks through angry that this was supposed to be his case. Stillman states that this isn’t the case he had thought it was; as Jefferies informs him that he couldn’t get him to go to West Philly now he wants to drive to Tennessee. Back to Tennessee this time Knoxville as we now see the place where Ty Sugar is now performing.
He states to Rush that the power shift wasn’t bad but the song got them noticed; as another flashback to 2000 occurs this time back in Blue Star Longue. Just then Edie’s Manager comes over telling them that Dusty had stolen one their guitars, both Ty and Truck apologize. Just then Edie get on stage stating she wants to go a song only if Truck would do it with her. Once on stage Truck begins to play as the two start singing together as their eyes begin locking during the song; before a woman comes in staring at him.
Rush then asks who the woman was as Ty responds that it was Truck’s wife: Honey Sugar. Meanwhile in Philadelphia Edie sits down to speak with both Vera and Stillman. Quick Cut to the horse farm as we see both Rush and Valens speaking to Honey Sugar, as Valens asks him if she knows about Edie Lowe. She responds with that Edie’s just Cheap Christmas Trash but another Quick cut back to Philly as we now hear the sound of Edie’s voice.
