First and foremost, holy mother of "YAY!!!!" that you've posted this one. Hopefully you'll forgive me if this is a little shorter and vaguer than my usual... only I don't know the first thing about Grey's so I'm a little bit hesitant to make like I have any experience with that side of things... ...nonetheless, you've thrown us into a completely different fandom in such a way that - had I not known was based on a different show - would be completely believable as original characters... in the sense that, while I don't like to presume too much about characters that have a canon I don't know, I don't feel completely at sea reading them. It's almost like the scene is being set as a Grey's Charries For Idiots crash-course... for which this particular idiot is very grateful. I don't know the characters, but - judging by the way they're written here - I really don't see that being any kind of obstacle in the way of my enjoying this fic. As to the stuff I do know... you've picked up so neatly from ETTFC, and with such great humour, it totally feels like we're right back here. Having very much missed your writing of late, it only just occurred to me this evening how MUCH I've missed it by reading the stuff you've written and posted today. Finally you have some new stuff posted and it's almost like you've never been away, 'cause I'm so friggin' glad to have your ETTFCverse back, I can't remember what it was like to be missing it. Sort of. But anyhow. Love the intro to the CC section... LOVE LOVE LOVE the coffee bit. I can totally picture Will as a caramel macciato kind of man (and I adore the fact that he offered to pay back the cost; he's such a gentleman!), and Kat's mocha obsession still makes me giggle like you have no idea (and Man Candy so. would. get it wrong on purpose just to see that scowl). And, awww!! Romanced!Scotty really is so thoughtful and so obnoxious at the same time, isn't he? Very true to character, that he'd have that self-satisfied "I'm the greatest" smirk on his face and be handing out obscure coffee orders with both hands. Also love the little teasing L/S moment... though I remain an anti-shipper and will deny this if questioned under oath. The premise for the case seems terrifyingly well-thought-out. Not sure how much of it is Grey's and how much of it is Cello'd, but it runs very very smoothly, however it's been done. Also love Lilly's moment of wondering how they would deal if it happened to them; she's always been very good at seeing herself (or the team's self) through the cases, and this shines through beautifully - as it did with the Tim/Ann stuff in ETTFC. I honestly don't know what would happen if it was them, it's a sobering thought. Anyhow, end point, a lovely little introspective moment, not nearly big enough to overwhelm the more important (at this juncture) case introduction, but nonetheless there, and just settling neatly beneat the surface, in exactly the same way as it does in the show. As to the ending? I, personally, think it's very very (understatedly) effective. I love the emphasis on 'family', on so many different levels, and I think - especially given Lil's mindset at the moment in this fic - it totally fits beautifully. If ETTFC really was canon, I could absolutely picture a teaser for a real episode running almost identical to this. Bravo. Naturally, in spite of my Grey's ignorance, I cannot wait for you to continue this'un. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks, guys!! It's almost like the scene is being set as a Grey's Charries For Idiots crash-course... for which this particular idiot is very grateful. I don't know the characters, but - judging by the way they're written here - I really don't see that being any kind of obstacle in the way of my enjoying this fic. Heh. Good. I'm glad this came across well. In the real CC episodes, the guest characters have pre-existing storylines and whatnot, and we don't really "know" them at the beginning, but by the end, we do. This is my intention here. Awwwwww, thanks. ;D Thanks!!! I had fun writing this scene. I'm not sure whether Scotty has actually been getting Kat's order wrong on purpose, or not, but he covers nicely either way, doesn't he? In Love Scotty is just so darned cute. Hee. Thanks. Wow, thanks!! It's all Grey's at this point, minus the whole "Izzie gets murdered and now the residents don't like each other" thing. That didn't really happen in the GA-verse. But all of Meredith's rambling about her real mommy and her fake mommy and her boyfriend...that's all show canon. I've heard it said that Lilly is the Meredith Grey of police procedurals, and I'm eagerly exploring this comparison. And I'm glad the Lil introspection worked well. I wasn't planning on having it in there, but then she just sort of stormed in and said, "Ahem. You're not letting me angst all over this story, so I have to get it in when and where I can." Thanks!! I decided to leave the wisecracks to Law & Order.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECHAPTER2!!!!
Ahem. Now that's out of the way...
First up, a big "HEE!" at BackwardsChair!Scotty, and doubly so 'cause I'm totally picturing him spending this entire scene sulking because he wanted a box dammit. But, y'know, it's possible that's just me. And it's probably not helped by everyone else calling him on his rage issues - which, SO MANY LEVELS of awesome. 'Bout time they pointed that out, but at the same time, "awww" at Scotty's refusal to admit it. That is, "aww" in a "dammit, Scotty!" sort of way. You know the type.
Loving the reactions to Bethany Whisper, on every conceivable level. And, of course, I'm forced to say "Oh, Vera, you sordid and loveable moppit". LOVED the whole "this case was now personal" moment. Just... loved the frilly heck out of it. Also, the moment between Scotty and Lilly; it's never fun when your girlfriend finds out about your, errr, 'former vices' (well, y'know, it's fun for the audience but not so much the guy...), and this was just utterly priceless. Again, poor Scotty, being the centre of everyone else's mockery, and we're only a few lines in!
I'm gonna be general on the interview sections for a moment, and say I love how you structure them - and the flashbacks scene. A very very very accurate reflection of the way these scenes are handled in the show proper, and it makes this fic all the more entertaining to read, on a completely new level in addition to your usual flawless character insights. I love that you don't spend too long on character stuff during those scenes, but that those little moments you do give are phenomenally thought through and neatly focussed around the case itself. Really cleverly-written stuff.
Can't judge the flashbacks, obviously... but, err, I love the italics? And the commas (*g*). And, if nothing else, I'm finding myself gasping in surprise at the appropriate moments - knowing nothing about the fandom, natch, it's all new to me - so the cliffhanger endings and the big revelations that CC flashback scenes are so frickin' awesome at definitely seem to be working perfectly, at least for me. (Also, random sidebar... coupling the end of that first flashback with that line, "So, yea, she forgave me"? Had me ROFLing to the point that you would've owed me another new keyboard if I'd been drinking.)
Also enjoying the way Lil and Will (yayrhymingpartners?) are working together. I could be wrong, but these two don't seem to get paired together quite as much as they get paired off with everyone else in the show, and scenes like the one you've depicted here leave me wondering why 'cause they play off each other expertly and so very professionally, it's lovely. Not quite as many infinite levels of OMGAWESOME as the dynamic between Scotty and Kat, but - to be fair - few things in the multiverse are. At the very least, the scene just served to feed my interest in the Lil'n'Will partnership, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing it continue.
But, as for Scotty and Kat? Lord, you know how wonderful these two are, first-hand, right? I never, ever, ever get tired of reading them, the way you write them. Even when it's serious, it's an awesome brand of serious, and when it's fun, it is SO fun. Scotty's discomfort at the beginning of the scene, RE hospitals in general, and Kat's discomfort at the end, RE The Bed, just complement each other in the way that so many little nuances between these two do... and yea... I wanna go on for hours, but you know damn well how much I adore these two and your writing thereof.
So... yea... did I miss anything? Probably. To cover all my bases, I shall just say that - once again - I loved this. I loved the flashbacks, even though I don't know the fandom, I'm really really intrigued by the case, even though I know I'm not getting half the references, and it's just totally engaging... in all the ways that an episode is, with all the little subtleties and nuances of Cellogal!Fic and the ETTFC universe. I don't wanna put all my eggs in one basket by saying "perfect" just yet, 'cause there's no doubt a lot more to come, and if I use the same word every single time, when something really amazing - even by your standards - comes up (which no doubt it will) I won't have any descriptive words. But it's as close to perfect as something can be without using the word 'perfect'. If that makes ANY sense. *g*

Again, poor Scotty, being the centre of everyone else's mockery, and we're only a few lines in! Thanks! As you said, with the others, it's racism, sexism, immigration, etc. that kicks them into gear with a case. With Vera, it's lingerie models. And I had a ton of fun writing this part, because I can't imagine either of those guys NOT knowing who Bethany Whisper was, and I can't imagine either woman not letting it slide. Wow, thanks! These parts always make me a little nervous. I'm trying to do justice to the show itself way more in this story than I did in my previous one (characters, yes; show structure itself, not so much), so I'm glad this is coming across well! Heh. Glad you enjoyed it. Alex is kind of a Scotty-type character, come to think of it, although I hadn't made the connection until this story. And I'm glad you love my use of commas. I try. Thanks! These two are so easy and comfortable together, so it's fun to just sort of sit back and let them write themselves. I'm lucky in that the show itself has paired these two fairly often, so there's something of a pre-existing dynamic to work with. Thanks! These two are just a BLAST to write together; they play off each other so well, and they're both so forthcoming as characters that I just sit back and watch and try to type as fast as they bicker with each other. Wow. It does make sense, and I'm thrilled that you're enjoying this so much! Thanks, as always, for the awesome review!

Okay... *cracks knuckles*. Awesome, once again; I'm loving this fic in a totally different way to the way I love ETTFC, even if it is set in the same universe. Case Fic has a completely different focus to character fic, and in a way I imagine it's so much harder to write, since there is this balance between the CC characters and the case-related (in this case, GA) characters... and it's important to keep that balance even, lest things get uneven... but, thus far at least, you seem to make all that seem almost easy.
I adore what you do with the CC side of things, of course - "McMotive" was awesome, and everyone else reacting off that was just so so SO funny... but, as a CC fan and a GA newbie, I particularly love how you use the characters I am familiar with to bounce the basic details about the ones I'm not - sort of breaking it down into a language I understand, if you get me, in much the same way they do in the show proper with the case victims / suspects / &c. I imagine there's a whole depth of interaction that I'd be able to grasp better if I had a better grounding in GA and knew the characters better than just YouTubing the flashback scenes... but, as it is, again, I love how you're condensing the little tidbits of information that (I imagine) a lot of GA-savvy (or, y'know, any-fandom-savvy in crossover scenarios) folks would take for granted everyone ought to know.
Vera being a gentleman... AWW!! *hugs him* I'd go into some long and rambling explanation of why I heart this bit, as I usually do... but I think the "aww", in this case, speaks for itself.
Again, so much love for the flashbacks. Harping back to the not-knowing-the-fandom bit... I sort of feel, with the way you're setting up this stuff, like I'm being introduced to the characters as originals (who happen to have YouTube vids!). Which is to say, the flashbacks, the scenes you seem to be picking out to further the plot and explore via flashbacks, are exceptionally well-chosen to appeal to those of us who are starting at Ground Zero with these characters. It's a really, really difficult thing to do, introduce characters and situations you're intimately familiar with, to an audience who's never seen them before... and it's terrifying how effectively you pull this off through your interviews and flashbacks. My CC/SB crossover, if it ever gets off the ground, is cowering in terror at having to live up to this stuff.
On a more shallow note... the Scotty/Derek glare-a-thon? *thud*. Just... *THUD*. And that is all. Well, not quite all... also, SO much love for Kat being all "headdesk*" about it. The last line is absolutely friggin' priceless.
There would be more, but this chapter sort of speaks for itself. The awesome bits - of which there are your usual LOTS - sort of speak for themselves as if they're wearing a great big sign that reads "Ask Me About Being Awesome" (*g*), and the only thing I really feel I ought to reiterate is how totally comfortable I am reading a crossover that stars characters I've never heard of; that's exceptionally rare, even in the most brilliantly-written crossovers, but somehow - once again - you make it look easy.
Bravo, as per usual, and apologies for being somewhat repetitive throughout this one... oh, and you know I'm waiting for the next chappie with bated breath, right?

Awwww, thanks! Trust me, it's not. I keep agonizing over the details of the case, hoping they all make sense over the course of the story, and it makes me realize how frighteningly good the show writers are. Yay!! I'm glad this is working, and that you don't feel lost for not watching GA. I'll get you hooked yet, though. Boy, do I love Vera. Especially when he decides to be unexpectedly sweet, and totally invades the story to do so. The glare-a-thon was fun to write. Really, really fun. Those two guys are both incredibly hot when they're angry, and this was easy to do since Derek is essentially a more sophisticated version of Scotty. Since they're so much alike, fireworks were bound to ensue. And who else but Kat would step in and break it up, since she's SO not impressed by all their strutting around? Wow....thanks so much! The sign part makes me laugh out loud. I'm glad you're comfortable with the characters you don't know!

Okay... HOW much did I love this chapter?
The little L/S scene at the beginning was sweet but understated; in much the same way as the "personal moments" in realtime episodes take a backburner to the cases, and we're left with just brief quiet scenes, this worked very well in keeping with the case-centric focus of the fic proper. Makes perfect sense in the context of the ETTFC-verse, and it was just plain sweet.
ROFL@donut scene. Again, injecting those personal touches to a scene that's otherwise focussed on the case plot is something they do so wonderfully well on the show, and this fit in nicely. Plus, y'know, I have the whole donut!bias going on, so I was bound to love it.
Loving the case stuff too. "If it were me who'd got to bang Bethany Whisper" - LOL. Oh, Vera, you twisted little moppit. Ditto ROFL @ the "what kind of hospital is this" line. I've been wondering exactly the same thing since this fic started (but then, I'm a Scrubs fan, so I am SO not one to talk about weird hospital policies). Combining two emotionally charged fandoms, I imagine, does bring to light some of the WTFery of both, so it's nice to see that noted with your usual sense of awesome humour.
Still loving the interviews/flashbacks combinations. You've struck a perfect balance between the two, and continue to indoctrinate the uneducated among us to the GA-verse with style and poise. Or, y'know, something less flowery. I'm constantly finding myself Wiki-ing (the future is now!) these characters and storylines, just to keep up, which is something I rarely go so far as to do in crossover fic if I don't know the other fandom. You'll make a GA fangirl out of me yet.
The Last Scene? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Honestly. It's been, what, a day... and that's still as coherent as I'm ever gonna get over it. 'Cause, seriously... between the lolz and the squee, I honestly can't get a sane word out. Best part is, I can totally totally picture everything. It's just genius, of the most awesome and hilarious kind.
So, yep. There ya go. Another awesome, awesome chapter... and, I totally get the impression that - even if I did know the GA fandom and its characters inside and out - I'd still be completely at a loss to figure out who the doer is... which, imho, is the mark of well-written crime-show fanfic. It's near impossible to pull off - even the show itself has trouble sometimes (*coughghostofmychildcough*) - and, as with so many little traits and tics, you make it look easy. I don't know whether to be awestruck or jealous. Very much looking forward to more - both in terms of the genius personal stuff, and the case itself - at any rate!

Yet another great installment!
Point the First: Holy mother of all things awesome, but Bailey rocks. Keep up with characterisation like this, and you'll make a Grey's fan of me yet. And, LOL @ her calling out the team for being run in circles by a bunch of medical interns. There are so many times on the show proper I sort of want to take certain Team Members, smack them upside the head and say "c'mon, you aren't really buying this, are you?", and it was just a world of awesome that Bailey called them on it. Also, SO much love for Scotty's little throwaway line about being able to handle Kat... 'cause, ROFL.
Point the Second: HEE, Babysitting!Vera... he was just... *dies of the squee*. Extra love for how even the wee child could tell that he was awesome with kids, and extra-EXTRA love for how it was Kat's Look that got him to give in. *squishes him*
Point the Third: Still loving your flashbacks - the plot continues to thicken! I'll admit a lot of the medical jargon flew right over my head, but you laid down the gyst of it pretty effectively, and I'm still loving the development that your choice of flashbacks and important plot points is granting these characters. Granted, I still don't know them, but I feel much more comfortable with presuming their traits and characteristics than I did at the start. If that means anything.
Point the Fourth: ROFL@ changing emergency instructions scene. I cannot express in words how much I love that the CC team is calling the GA team on their, uh, habits... in much the same way as Bailey was calling the CC team on their cluelessness. It's wonderful when fic can inject that healthy mockery of the more ridiculous aspects of their show of choice, and you've pulled that off so effectively without ever once stepping into the realms of silly. Just... love, love, love.
Point the Fifth: The last line? *hysterics*. That is all.
I'm sure there are many many more equally awesome things to mention, but those are the ones that stuck out time and time again. And, sidebar, Babysitting!Vera is now #1 on my list of Most Awesome Things To Happen In This Fic. ;D
Looking forward to the next chappie, natch...

Oh, the plot thickens!
Gotta say, the one thing that stood out to me in this chappie was the crossover aspect. I'm no stranger to reading crossovers wherein I only have knowledge of one of the fandoms used... but it's new territory to me, reading a crossover like that, and being just as intrigued by the GA side of the story as the CC side. I don't know very much about these characters at all, but your telling of the story through CC's methods is such that one forgets all that.
It's not quite the same as watching an episode, wherein the characters are fresh and original, because there is that definite familiarity with which you write the GA characters... but it flows so well, and meshes so perfectly with the CC-verse... instead of reading these characters as originals, as I try to do in crossover fic when I don't know the fandom, I'm reading them in the context of the fandom itself. Which should be difficult, since it's a context I don't actually know, and yet somehow it all just seems to fall into place as if I've been watching it all my life. If that makes any kind of sense.
CC stuff, though. So much LOVE for Will being all... Will-like, throughout this chapter. Cutting and one-linerish when he's with the team... and then simultaneously badass and compassionate when he's interviewing. He's one of the few characters, I feel, who has a real line between who he is with his friends and who he is with his suspects, and you've captured this wonderfully. The more I read of your take on this man, the more I appreciate him in the show proper.
Scotty and his accents. HEE. Loving the shout-out to TR&TB and ETTFC - and especially love the fact that Will totally won't let him forget it. HEH. And, of course, Lilly's reaction to the "yee-haw". Did I say "HEE!" yet? Loved the frilly heck out of the "observation" crack on about six different levels. Ditto, though on a slightly different vein, I'm loving the ongoing jokes about the... uh, 'practises' of the GA folks. "Incestuous Cesspool" indeed, and yet it is SO damn funny. As I think I may have mentioned, I love the inter-fandom mockery that's going on throughout this fic - how the CC team are totally calling the GA folks on their weirdness, and the GA folks are coming right back and throwing the CC team's ineptitude right back at them. It's a joy to read, truly.
Also, weirdly, I'm absolutely loving your insight into Izzie. The flashback scenes in this chapter were quite gruelling and very very intriguing to read through. Having never seen the story arc in GA, nonetheless I sort of feel as if I have, and that I'm reading through a new perspective on it. It's very weird, and a little unsettling, but in the good way.
Very much looking forward to the next chapter, and seeing the pieces of the puzzle falling into place just as they do in the last ten minutes in the show proper. I'm trying to second-guess what'll happen, and work out whodunnit, as I do in the show proper, but I'm drawing blanks... as I do in the show proper. Or, to throw yet another gratuitous Mountain Goats quote at you, "I've tried to figure this one out, but I can't find any meaning in it" (*g*). So, yea, I really cannot wait to see how you pull all the threads together and bring this thing to its no-doubt cataclysmic and awesome conclusion.
