The Envelope's Emmy Prospects

The Envelope is doing its yearly Emmy nomination predictions and Kathryn is included in the "Long Shots" category (hey, at least they're giving her a shot!). Anyway, here's her mention:

Unfortunately that doesn't really surprise me. It's hard for stars of procedurals like this one to get nominated because, well, it's a procedural. Notice the actors in shows like Grey's Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters, Damages are on the list? But then to be fair, that's because they get to show more of a range with their acting.

But hey, you're right. It's a long shot, but it's a shot!

Yeah, I don't expect her to get a nod. There are a few exceptions (like Mariska Hargitay, Kyra Sedgwick), but for the most part, the actors on procedurals don't get the nominations. I agree, though, that they don't get to show their range as much as actors on other shows since the focus is on the case (i.e. guest characters) versus the core characters of the show. Honestly, I was surprised The Envelope mentioned her at all since the show largely gets ignored by awards, buzz sites and pretty much everything else. I guess that's why I was just happy to see her name on the list.

I hope Kathryn gets one, she's long overdue for an emmy plus the fact she's much more talented than so many other actresses

Well thats better then nothing. At least someone recongizes her work. Hopefully with a lot of work she'll get a nod!

And even worse than that, no sign of Kathryn on the red carpet

I was hoping for a bit of award show glamour from her. Last's year outfit and presentation were such a hit with everyone here, not to mention the Emmy Magazine appearance from the same time
