OK guys. It's that time again. Post your thoughts on what you'd like to see on Cold Case next season. Here are some of mine: 1) A scene with Stillman and Lilly where he imparts some of that "don't make the same mistakes I made" knowledge on her in regards to love and relationships (thanks cellogal . This is just begging to be written. 2) More character stuff. Another one of my favorite shows is Bones, and this show never fails to give its viewers tons of character stuff. Now, I realize that comparing CC to Bones is a like comparing apples to oranges, but I think the idea remains the same. If the show continues as is, I fear that it's going to become too formulaic and stagnant to keep most viewers' interests (and let's face it, it's teetering on the edge of this problem now). I used to watch CSI and Without a Trace, but got bored with the same old, same old routine and stopped. Clearly, I'm sticking with CC through thick and thin, but I do like it when they reward the regular viewers with great regular character moments. 3) Lilly outside of work. I'm so tired of the tailored suites and ironed shirts! I want to see her having fun (ala the final scene of "Disco Inferno") and kicking back and letting loose. It can be with co-workers, friends, dates -- I don't care. Just give her a life outside of the suffocating walls of PPD. 4) More cases that think outside the box. Some of CC best episodes have always been the ones that kick the formula to the curb. This year's best (IMO), "The Road," did just that to excellent results. I guess after 5 seasons I'm getting too used to the regular routine. Mix it up and give us more episodes like "The Road" that throw the formula out the window. 5) MORE LILLY! 'Nough said. I would have suggested a real love interest for Lil (see CLOSER, THE), but I've given up on that idea at this point. Although, I'd love for the show to prove me wrong.

My *VERY FIRST* Wish List: 1) No more depressed Lilly 2) Scotty/Lilly. Nuff said. 3) Maybe more... ... ... IDK, stuff.

1. some sort of continuity with storylines (or is that too much to ask?) 2. lilly not living on depressame street 24/7. We understand the show isn't sposed to be all "happy, yay we're all mates" and yea Lilly is sposed to be a bit "down" but it is/was starting to really make the show boring.

Also my first wish list...
1) More cases set in older decades; I think season five went rather unnecessarily light on anything pre-2000, and - while that did make those few older cases stand out more - it did get quite grating very quickly (as I think has been mentioned ad nauseum on LA already).
2) Less Lilly. *ducks inevitable barrage of flames* I'm sorry, I'm sorry, and I know I'm in a minority of exactly one... and maybe I'll change my mind a little with more Light-Hearted!Lilly... but, sad to say, I'm perpetually stuck in a place wherein the character just makes me cringe, and I personally find all five of the others infinitely more interesting.
3) Off the back of that, more of everyone else... both individually and in a 'team' sense - I'd sell my soul to see more 'off-work' type scenes between the whole team. This, for pretty much the reason stated above; I just find the ensemble far more likeable and interesting than the protagonist. *shrug* But that's just me. Literally.
4) More episode with single-artist soundtracks. I do realise it's very much a game of Russian Roulette with those episodes, 'cause - if you dislike the artist - it can quite seriously impact your enjoyment of the episode. But it's a chance I would be willing to take, since there's a sort of uniformity in single-artist episode soundtracks, and it brings about an entirely different 'feel', which can be wonderfully refreshing. I miss those episodes.

1. Lilly and Scotty hanging out as friends ( sorry can't resist that) or going ice skating together 2. An older case that requires four detectives to take a long road trip 3. Stillman getting a lovelife 4. As everyone else said More Lilly and older cases 5. Show that Lilly can be happy without being in love showing her in Yoga class or Piliates

1) Older cases, that means old music I don't know. No more 90s or 22nd century cases because chances are that I most likely know the songs already. 2) Depressed Lilly, I know that most people don't like seeing that, but I love a good noir(IE: "Veronica Mars") 3) Jefferies and his new love, the woman with the pie ;D. 4) Stillman leaving the show and being replaced with Will? Let's shake things up on "Cold Case" a little bit. Most shows replace their characters to keep it interesting. I'll probably get yelled at for this . 5) Vera and Toni's kid, would love to see some "father"/son bonding moments between those two.

2) Depressed Lilly, I know that most people don't like seeing that, but I love a good noir(IE: "Veronica Mars") I, too, enjoy good film noir style (and Veronica Mars was a classic example). CC also fits comfortably into this category, but I think there is a big difference between Lilly's constant, oppressive depression and Veronica's obstacle-filled road to happiness. Where Lilly is just basically moping around in a perpetual state of static sadness, Veronica was using all of the crap that happened to her as the fuel that drove her to rise above all of it. She never let it get the better of her and she never walked around as a shell of her former stuff. The character was hardened (especially beyond her young years), but she turned it into smarts and it allowed her to survive in the dog-eat-dog world of class-mandated hierarchies and social inequities that tried to bring her down. Lilly's just, well, depressed. I don't mind obstacles in her way on her path to happiness (heck, that's the basis for all stories) and I don't even mind her not overcoming them, but I do wish that the show would allow her to learn from them and apply those lessons. I wouldn't expect her to be happygolucky, but I would expect her to take those hard times, toughen up, and gain a darker, yet stronger, perspective on life. So, I will add "Adopt a Veronica-like attitude" to my Season 6 Wish List.

1. Doing an episode in all black and white but case must be older 2. Having Stillman spending time with his grandson again 3. Scotty spending time with his Nephew ( playing softball or Basketball together) 4. Find out what really happened to that phone call to Kite 5. More creepy episodes 6. Kat talking to Lilly about her own shooting 7. No more repeating the same music from other episodes. 8. CC airing on time everytime

Okay, I've given this some thought (probably way too much), and here's what I'd like to see:
1) Character growth from Lilly. As so many of you have said, far more eloquently than I ever could, Lil's stuck in a rut. She's always been a bit hard to get to know, a bit closed-off, but S5 Lilly is bordering on the extreme. I realize she's had traumatic things happen to her, but that's what therapy is for. I'd love to see something drive her back to a therapist and actually DEAL with her problems instead of pretending she's fine.
2) More character stuff in general. I know, I know, the show's about the cases, but I'd love to see more of the characters' families, more of them hanging out together outside work, just more of them period. In writing them, I've discovered how truly awesome all of them are, and I'm just dying to see the show let them be awesome. I honestly had no idea how cool Jeffries was, or how categorically kick-ass Kat Miller is, or how sweet Stillman is, or how insightful Vera is, until I started digging around in their heads. I think this show works best when they're an ensemble, and I'd love to see more of that.
3) A conversation between Lilly and Scotty about the shooting. They desperately need to talk about this; Scotty needs to let Lilly know how much the thought of losing her terrified him, and she needs to open up about how she's still traumatized by the whole thing. I see this playing out as one of those moments that could be interpreted multiple ways; that's how this show does things between them best, anyway.
4) More Lilly/Scotty moments in general. Whether you're a shipper or not, I think most of us would be forced to admit that they work well together, they have great onscreen chemistry, and I'd just like to see more little "moments" between the two of them. Shippy, not shippy, whatever...just the two of them together.
5) The development of a friendship between Lilly and Kat. I think the two of them have quite a bit in common, and could be absolutely awesome together.
6) I'd love to see an episode that uses classical music. I'm a classical music nerd, and I think an episode like this would be amazing, but I realize I am probably alone in this sentiment. I'm okay with that.
7) Where have Lilly's cats been? I miss them.
8) Something needs to happen to make Lilly realize how much Scotty means to her. Again, this needn't be shippy to be effective. We've seen, over the past few seasons, Lilly in a few dangerous situations, and we know that Scotty clearly cares a great deal for her. But I don't think we've ever seen Lil acknowledge what Scotty means to her, and I'd LOVE to see that. Not that I want any harm to befall Scotty, of course...but just something to make Lilly realize how important he is to her.
9) No more ill-advised love interests for Scotty. I've hated all his love interests except for Elisa, mostly because of either a) chemistry issues, or b) being ill-advised or just plain stupid. Either give him a legitimate love interest that doesn't make me throw things at my TV, one with whom he has chemistry, one that loves him and actually makes him happy, or just put his love life on the back burner for a while.
And while we're on the subject...
10) A shallow request, but I know a lot of us are thinking it. More Shirtless! Scotty. Now, I realize that Shirtless! Scotty and Ill-Advised Love Interests typically go together, but it doesn't have to be that way. On SVU, for example, Stabler is shown answering the phone in the middle of the night, frequently shirtless. Or, it could also go along with the "show them outside of work" thing. Really. Resorting to Ill-Advised Love Interests to give us glimpses is cliche. Be creative, show! But...seriously. Shirtless! Scotty is a gold mine of potential. It wouldn't need to be tawdry or cheap, and in fact, I'd like it far better if it weren't. Shirtless! Stabler on SVU is never overdone or chintzy, it's just...hey. He's put in some serious gym time. It's a waste to not acknowledge that fact.

I largely go along with much of what's been suggested in this thread. However, I decided to pick this bit: 10) A shallow request, but I know a lot of us are thinking it. More Shirtless! You know me well enough to know where I'm going to go with this, which saves me the effort of writing it

Second there; I'd like to see that as well.
Here's more add ons to the wish list
1. Lilly Finally having closure about her mother's death, trying to move on. 2. Lilly and Scotty going undercover 3. A Christmas episode with the two opening up gifts together and kissing like they had done in " Bones".

1. Those who know me think I'm gonna say OLDER CASES and really yes, But after watching Spiders, Andy in C Minor and The Road these days... hey! There could be a good recent case!!! I'd like 1 old case that happened before Torn(1919), Something Like 1904, 1915 and variation in years... There had never been a cold case from 1970/1971/1974 and from 60s 1960/1961/1966/1967. They have to write in diff things... One episode from 1931, then we go to 2007 and then 1959, different times
2. Lilly and Ray again! or at least Lilly And Eddie...
3. A Case where a female cop was killed in the first days of female cops... It should be so nice
4. More cases based on Real Cases Do you know cases like Etan Patz or Richard Calvin Cox? Etan Patz was a child who went missing in NY in 1979 and was never found. Most people believe he was killed by J. Ramos, a child molester... Could You imagine an scene between Scotty and him? INTENSE! Richard Calvin Cox was a Cadet who on Jan,14,1950 went to a dinner with a friend and never came back.... I know sometimes cases based on real life could be trouble but... Let´s do it!
Let me know what do you think about my ideas....

I haven't seen all of the "Cold Case" episodes (I'm tryin', I'm tryin'!), and most of the episodes I've seen, I've seen out of order. So forgive me if I make a mistake or contradict something that happens later on, and I don't want to sound like a sarcastic, cruel person, because I do love Cold Case.
1) More Stillman interrogation scenes, and more Stillman in general. I loved the scene in "Rampage" where he became violent with the suspect and holds his head up against the television screen. I was actually cheering for Stillman in that part (not because I thought the man was guilty, but because it was fantastic to see Stillman become really emotional and determined to get a rise or confession out of a suspect. More almost father/daughter scenes between Lilly and Stillman, like in the part of "Rampage" where she goes in to the shopping mall and he is telling her to be careful.
2) Happier Lilly. Kathryn Morris is excellent (particularly with her eyes, not going over-the-top or showy about scenes), and I almost want to have more angsty scenes so she can really get noticed by award panels and the like, but happy Lilly is great to see. In my opinion, when Lilly is unhappy (which seems to be an almost permanent fixture nowadays) it becomes too Lilly-centric, and rather than revolving around the cases, it revolves around Lilly and how she reacts to things. Don't get me wrong, I still want to see this - it's good to have "real" people, rather than just caredboard cut-outs - however, I think it becomes a little too much sometimes. For example, The Road, which I thought was very case-orientated, was simply great.
3) Less Lilly. This is kind of like "Point 2, Part B", but I think it sometimes turns into the Lilly Show as opposed to Cold Case, and it would be good to focus on some of the other characters.
4) Lilly's father. This probably goes against everything I've just said, but I think having Lilly's father in it for two episodes (or thereabouts) would help Lilly gain closure on her childhood and her mother's death and help us to see a happier side of her without making it looked forced.
5) As someone else has said, more out-of-the-box episodes. I agree with the O.P, The Road was brilliant because it took what seemed like a normal-ish case by "Cold Case" standards, and turned it into a fascinating, unusual episode where I was literally clinging onto my seat because I was so on-edge by it all.
6) More Vera. I really like him so far, but in the episodes I've seen so far, he hasn't been very 'defined', and seems to almost melt into the background a little. I'd like to hear a bit about his childhood and his background. (Does this happen in later episodes? It's kind of hard for me to see them where I am, so I was just wondering.)
Hope I haven't offended anyone!

Would you freak out entirely if I tackled you, completely at random, and gave you a great big giant hug? 3) Less Lilly. This is kind of like "Point 2, Part B", but I think it sometimes turns into the Lilly Show as opposed to Cold Case, and it would be good to focus on some of the other characters. 'Cause this point? Exactly how I feel, and I am SO glad someone else came out and said it so eloquently.
