New to this board and have questions!!

Hello, I'm brand new here and this is my first post. I am very new to this show as well and have my PVR set to record any and all episodes. I do have several questions and maybe someone can guide me to a cold case history link of sorts. My question is, was Scotty dating someone who was killed or something? I've seen a few shows and some of the co workers were mentioning this in passing and I'm wondering about it. I hope I can be directed to the history of the show or something if it exists. Also, was wondering about the actor who portrayed the Defunct Detective from General Hospital. I saw her on one eppy and she evidently had something going on with Scotty. Details would be lovely!! Thanks in advance for reading this and hopefully guiding me to a link with answers for a new viewer.
