Warning: Possible Spoiler for finale. . . . . . . . . . . . . Only if you wanna know - press link.i6.photobucket.com/albums/y239/bestwishes_always/carnevale.jpgI was going to withhold my own comment until others posted but decided not to. "Who Cares!" All season I've waited for something about Lilly in the TV Guide and this is what we get. And it's an entire page! Anyhow if you want to talk about this exact spoiler - head over to the Spoilers Forum and discuss there before the finale.

So, this is how they are promoting the season finale? Whether one likes the addition of the new Eddie character or not, IMHO, I find it odd they seem to be choosing to promote the show with little/no mention of the actual REGULAR cast members, let alone Lilly (who reads like an afterthought in this article). And with only 9-something million viewers roped in for "Bad Reputation," are they really sure they want to hang the moon with this guy? Joseph did better than that.

First of all the reason for last episode's ratings were due to the game going overtime which always effects ratings, people don't know when CC would be on so they don't watch. Two I think it's great that CC is getting mentioned in Tvguide, they need more attention.

It's a fact the episode Bad Reputation was the lowest viewed episode of Cold Cases' entire 5 year series. (the series overnights are located in the General Forum)

Two I think it's great that CC is getting mentioned in Tvguide, they need more attention. Normally, I agree with you, LII. But in this case, when I look at that piece, all I see is the guest actor as a "must see" something or other. Like, who? What show is this? Why should I watch? Oh right. Cold Case. So who is this guy again? Huh. OK. IMHO, the article doesn't stand out as being related to CC, esepcially when I'm used to TV Guide's normal publishing of some sort of recognizable image of Lilly, the cast, etc. A tiny inset photo almost seems like an afterthought, and of all the finale press, I'm not sure this is its best one - even with the idea they are at least getting mentioned; I think it could've been done differently and/or with a different emphasis. But what do I know. LOL! [CC has consistently not aired on schedule due to CBS sports over the entire series. It's a fact the episode Bad Reputation was the lowest viewed episode of Cold Cases' entire 5 year series. (the series overnights are located in the General Forum) Exactly, Naj. This was my point. Thanks for helping to clarify. And you know, if they get their HIGHEST rated finale as a result of this approach, great. I'll eat my words. But if they don't, well ... can't say the writing wasn't on the wall.

Okay I understand now, but I just hope CC gets better ratings with what was mentioned.

I think its fair to say that doesn't look too promising. I haven't seen the episode with this new guy yet because from what has been said here it hasn't been worth my while downloading it. Stuff like this starts to make me doubt the show again.... I guess you might be able to put it down to the whole writers strike stuff up but I dunno...

Putting the Saccardo addition aside and just focusing on the fact that someone decided to promote the finale using his character (who may not be around much next season since the actor got his own show) -- this seems completely crazy. Where's the Lilly promotion?? Why does the media continually ignore her and this show unless there's a well-known guest star involved? It just isn't fair.

Not being very familiar with TV Guide I might be way off on this.
This is just one TV guide talking about CC. The show is down as a "must see", that can't be a bad thing. Do they only have 1 "must see of the week"?
If as people are flicking through the mag and see that image it might make them stop and read the text to find out more. If it was a shot of Lilly and co. they might dismiss it more easily.
I'm not saying I wouldn't prefer things to be different but it is just one piece in one independent magazine.

The reason why so many people are worked up over this little piece is because it's in TV Guide (the only national magazine that focuses on TV in the US - local newspapers have their own local TV sections, but nothing like TV Guide Magazine). Overall, the weekly ignores CC and focuses on flashier more "buzz-worthy" shows like Lost, Grey's Anatomy, House, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, etc. So, it's frustrating to see them mention the finale and only focus on a fleeting guest star. Now having said that, I agree with RichE that some publicity is better than none, so I'm glad to at least see this mention. It is worth mentioning, though, that I'm a subscriber. I got this issue in the mail the other day, immediately read through it (specifically looking for a CC finale mention), and never saw this article until Naj posted it here! I completely missed it -- most likely because I didn't see someone from CC.
To answer your question, RichE, there are other TV highlights for that week, but the CC finale does seem to be the only "Must-See of the Week."
