Melinda Page Hamilton (Janie Stillman) is currently co-starring on Desperate Housewives in what seems to be a multi-episode arc. She's playing Sister Mary Bernard, and she's fabulous!! She and Gabby (Eva Longoria) have this war going on over Gabby's husband Carlos. Carlos just got out of prison on parole because a Catholic group got him out early. Sister Mary Bernard is helping him live a virtuous life, and Gabby just wants the old Carlos back. At the end of her first episode (Sunday night), Sister Mary Bernard refused to leave Gabby and Carlos alone, thus setting up future conflicts between her and Gabby. It's a great storyline, and Melinda is really excellent in the role. I guess we shouldn't expect her back on CC anytime soon.
