Has anyone seen this? I had read that Kathryn's scenes got cut, but then I saw screen caps of her in it. Is she in this movie?

She is in it very briefly. I think her lines are;
"Gentlemen start your engines."

Kathryn is definitely in AI. Not for long, but she is there. KM may have had a larger role in some scenes that were cut. The fact that her character actually has a significant name, Teenage Honey, must mean something. I managed to borrow the AI DVD aftering finding out KM was in it and have MPEG2 rips of her two very brief appearances. One is the 'Start. Your. Engines.' scene. The other is even shorter and with no dialogue and is so quick you could miss it. Both are in the same sequence at the robot destroying circus. The two files combined are over 12MB, which would be over 15MB in an email. I have made MPEG4 versions, still original DVD frame size, that get them down to around 5MB. If someone wants to let me know I could email them to 1 person so they could be hosted somewhere. Here are screen shots from the 2 files: If you stare at them both for about 5 seconds and imagine KM saying 'start your engines' while looking at the first, you're pretty much done watching KM in AI.

Apparently one of the scenes cut was Kathryn singing! It's such a shame that the cut scenes didn't even end up on the DVD. They must surely be archived somewhere though?

Yes she's only in in about a minute if that, I have it on video and did not even realise it was her, till about a couple of months ago.
Yes she does have a line, It is what Sonny said "Gentlemen start you engines"

Thanks RichE!! I heard the same thing about the signing scene, sonny. I'm so bummed that it was cut. I would have loved to have seen that!

Yet it's amazing that here Kathryn is playing a teen, then in her next Spielburg movie, "Minority Report" she's the rather sophisticated wife of Tom Cruise! It's pretty mind-blowing at all the different characters she can portray!

Thanks for the info. RichE, I stared at the pics as you suggested and said "start your engines" but I'll probably see if I can pick this up somewhere anyway.

Michelle, you can get a lot of these movies for about $10 or less at Wal-Mart!! I just took a look at www.walmart.com/ and Paycheck, A.I., and Sleepstalker were all under $10; Minority Report was $12 (though I did see it once at $9.98), and Mindhunters is at $29.88. Target and K-Mart often have deals on DVDs too, and I'd check them out as well!

Thanks for the info. RichE, I stared at the pics as you suggested and said "start your engines" but I'll probably see if I can pick this up somewhere anyway. It is certainly true that the clips benefit from the full motion effect I just wanted people appreciate that there really is not much more to them than that. The first part has KM running on with her baton, waving it around while shouting 'start your engine'. She then moves, and the camera follows her, to stand next to a big fan as she continues to twirl her baton. It's 9 seconds of screentime. In the 2nd part she's doing a bull-fighting style thing pulling the cape out of the way of a chainsaw wielding motorcyclist to reveal a robot. With the inevitable sorry end for the robot. The clip I have is about 3 seconds long but KM is only in it for the middle 1. Here are a couple of images I put together from the video clips I have. The videos are 25 frames per second, these images are taken at the rate of 5 frames per second, so each row represents 1 second of video. These are just the bits where KM is visible.

Not sure why I've done this, it was as much to prove that I could as anything, but I have created a simple gif animation of the 1st AI sequence. The file is over 1MB so I haven't posted it directly. The thumbnail below links to the gif. Oh well, here goes nothing:

Not sure why I've done this.... Well, it seems appropriate enough. This being the Fourth of July and Kathryn's wearing Red, White, and Blue. ;D

I really hadn't considered the implications of the Wonder Woman outfit (I'll leave a little space here for you to think about that....... ) Done? I might be here celebrating/admiring/(can't think of a good 3rd word) a very lovely American lady but I didn't post out of patriotism. I'm English. In England, for that is where I am, we had name for this 4th of July. We called it Tuesday. Nighty night.

Ha ha ha... Oh well. Thanks for the animated GIF.... I'm glad you saw the funny side of the 'Tuesday' comment. I worried later that people might not get it and be a little offended, which was certainly not my intention. And for half the North American continent!! You can have the other half now if you want, I think we're done with it.
