Good day everyone, Hey, this is the Byrdman coming to you all bright and early today. I hope everyone is ready to rock and roll through a great day, I know I am! Anyway, I just wanted to post some new info I found on my TIVO this morning. KM will be featured in the 2001 movie "Role of A Lifetime" on NBC West (channel 383) on Saturday July 2 at 11 pm (central time). Just some FYI for anyone who may be interested. Take care and have a great day, everyone! MOVIE INFO: From IMDB - A has-been actor drops from public view and is presumed dead and when Hollywood decides to make a movie about his life, he decides to make a comeback by assuming another identity.

I don't get the West Feed of NBC, but I do have this one on DVD (I think it's rent-able from Netflix.) For KM lovers it's good to see Kathryn playing a true leading role. She gets to cry alot too.... which she doesn't get to do enough of on CC... The only downside is the movie looks ultra-low budget. I think it was a straight-to-video release; it looks it! Here's the trailer if you want to see what it's about: www.kmrocks.com/vid/roleofa_lifetime.rm

Good evening all, Hey, this is the Byrdman coming at you this evening. I hope that everyone is doing well, and that the weekend is progressing smoothly for all as well. I don't know about you, but fireworks are already lighting up my hometown. The Fourth is getting close, let Freedom Ring! But yeah, I just wanted to fill everyone in on this movie. Apparently it will not be shown at its scheduled time this evening. I just checked the channel, and there is a race on at the moment with more than 100 laps to go before it finishes. So, I'm going to program my TIVO far into the night to make sure I get the movie. I just wanted to fill everyon in on this, I hope they show the movie tonight. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Take care, and have a great night, everyone!

You know after looking at the pics etc. I see that I have seen this before. I remember KM'a part as being the director. But for some reason I didn't thoroughly watch it.
I'd like to see it though.

Good morning everyone, Hey, it's the Byrdman coming back at you all today. I hope everyone is doing well. Unfortunately, I do not know what was up with NBC last night. They completely threw me off. I got home and turned on the tv at about 10:50 to check it, and then that race was on, and about halfway complete. That was not listed anywhere in the guide last night. Then I went ahead and taped for the rest of the night. Unfortunately, no "Role of a Lifetime." Everything else was on time, though. Oh well, just a bit disappointed. Did anyone else catch it at a different time last night? Just curious. Thanks for listening, and I'm sorry about the bad news. Take care, and have a great day, everyone!

Dear Ryebeach, Hey, good evening, bud! Yeah, you said it, that was indeed disappointing the other night. I am not sure where that movie went, I hope they reair it soon, too. I have heard that the race that played over its slot was Daytona with NASCAR. I had heard that race got rain, and that was why it was delayed. NBC might have shown "Role of a Lifetime" earlier that night, I am not certain. In any case, it was missed by me, and I am hopeful I will get the opportunity to see it again soon. Take care, Ryebeach, and have a great night, everyone!

I was a bit gutted it wasn't on. I happened to be on hols in New York at the time. We'd just got in and put the TV on ready for me to watch the show and NASCAR was on. I heard the day after that it was cos of rain the race was delayed so thought that's why it wasn't on. Now I'm back in the UK I'll have to find some other means of seeing it!!

I just finished watching Role of a Lifetime (it can be purchased used on Amazon.com for under $5) and I will admit that for the first 20 minutes I hated it. Seemed like it was trying to be a cheesy comic flick with a background soundtrack that sounded like bad porno music from the 70's. (No- I am not an expert on porno music of any decade, bad or otherwise) but then. .
The movie lost the bad music, stopped the cheesy comedy, and started looking into the characters. I won't give the plot away but I will say that I am once again amazed (but not surprised) at what a GOOD actress Kathryn is. Her character in this is Chelsea, and she IS Chelsea. She's not Kathryn playing Chelsea. Just as she IS Lilly Rush and she IS Rita Dunn. I've never yet seen her in anything that makes me think: "oh, that's Kathryn being so-and-so". The woman changes expression, tone, body language, with every singe role she plays. And in this role, she will break your heart and make you fall utterly in love with her. Until now, Demi Moore has (in my opinion) had the best on-command tears but let me tell you, a few scenes in this movie just tore me up!!
If you have also seen this movie, please let me know if I'm being completely unobjective (a distinct possibility) or if she really is as fantastic as I think she is.
She's utterly believable, and ranges from heartbroken to tiffed in an instant--complete with that amazing ability to change her vocal tone --from a quaver to steel-edged in a heartbeat. Her emotions never for a second raise questions as to the reality of how a woman would act in that given situation.
As always, she is beautiful in the role.
The ending did seem to kind of come out of nowhere. Wrapped up very neatly and quickly. I'm not one for long, drawn out endings but I don't care for the quick fix either. Could be I'm just too difficult to please (who, me?).
A quote from the movie (not Kathryn's line) that I found thought provoking: "Most people don't get a second chance. They gotta live with the choices that they made."
That one may just keep me up at night. . . we all have our demons and doubts and regrets and I guess it's the mark of a good piece of entertainment if it leads to introspection.
******************* IrishKale!!!!!!! ********* KathrynFan!!!! ****************** It would be great to get a bunch of screencaps from this up on KMO. Lots of different looks and emotions for Kathryn. Especially in the scene with the blue sweater. :-) Or the red dress. :-) Or anything else for that matter. :-) :-)

Great little review there Michelle! I have this movie too [suprise suprise] and it's actually become a favourite of mine. I could watch it over and over. Really really cheesy but such great light hearted viewing; just really easy to watch. As always I thought Kathryn was amazing in it and again proves she does crying really well. Michelle, she really is as fantastic as you think! I just loved the scene when she kisses Buck and realises it really is Bobby. ["You miserable ba**ard, how could you!"]. Just a great scene!! Definately a must watch for any Kathryn Fan.
