Good day boys and girls! Hello! It's the Byrdman just droping you all a line on this lovely Sunday afternoon! I hope that you have all had a great weekend, and that you are ready for the rocking season finale tonight! We'll get to see our girl KM rock and roll! But I also got another hit on my TiVo for this, and I wanted to be sure and post the notification for LII and you others who may not have seen it before. "And Never Let Her Go" is scheduled to be aired on the Lifetime Movie Network (channel 253 on DirecTV) on Thursday, May 17 at 7 pm Central Time (that's 8 pm Eastern Time, and 5 pm Pacific Time). It is scheduled for 3 hours and 42 minutes, which tells me that they may be playing the entire movie at once. But just for your information. Take care of yourselves, have a wonderful day, and please make sure to enjoy the season finale tonight as well, boys and girls!

I got to tune into this Sunday ... have to say I was really moved by this film. The true story aspect, to me, was just so haunting - such innocence lost in such a gruesome, callaous and horrorific way. The first time I got to see this, I tuned into Part 2 and completely missed Part 1 (LOL!). Even still, the story stuck with me. But now seeing it from start to finish, wow ... Kathryn sort of overwhelmed me with her portrayal of Anne Marie - truly capturing such a tangible, tragic innocence. I was so drawn in by how Anne Marie thought so little of herself - even with so many wonderful people in her life, and how she blamed herself for the nightmare that she couldn't escape. She seemed to be so full of life, so charming, yet she was filled with such despair. There were some moments - Dr. Connor, her collapse in the bathroom, etc. - where Kathryn's subtleties once again were in full display and just so tugged at my heartstrings. Beautifully tragic - captivating, powerful, but tragic. You just wanted to give the gal a hug. I thought Mark Harmon was excellent as Tom Capano, and I thought he had excellent chemistry not only with Kathryn but with Rachel Ward as well. He was just so creepily manipulative, so obsessed, so controlling, and so thinking he would never be held accountable. Perhaps one of the things I found most interesting was how Kathryn's naturally slender physique was used in this film - highlighting apparently Anne Marie's own struggle with eating disorder and/or loss of weight / negative self-image. I personally have never looked at Kathryn's physique with any sort of negative connotation, so it was different for me to "see" her this way (if that makes sense) - that her own natural body type was arguably portrayed in a not-so-positive way, and was an essential part of the character's struggle. All in all, I really enjoyed this film ... and I found myself wishing it wasn't based on such a tragic true story ... Since I have been stuck home sick this week (and last week) with the worst sinus and bronchial infections I've ever had (ugh!), I was able to watch this film once again on Lifetime yesterday (Monday 3/24/08). I have only ever watched it once before (quote above) because I find the film so sad, and thus, can't bring myself to watch the story over and over. But, I just wanted to say once again that I am so wowed by Kathryn's performance in this film - even more so than my first time through. Her range is just so powerful and captivating, and she just makes Anne Marie one of the most tragically beautiful characters. It's heartbreaking at times to watch this film, but from a KM performance perspective, it's a must see.

Am bumping this up because the film will air tonight on Lifetime Movie Network (Thursday 5/1 at 5 p.m. PDT / 8 p.m. EDT) and tomorrow morning (Friday 5/2 at 9 a.m. PDT / 12:00 p.m. EDT). Looks to be airing in its entirety (not split up into Part 1 and Part 2). So, set aside about 4 hours (note that KM is only in the first two hours, but she continues to narrate the remaining part of the film). Highly recommend this to anyone who has not seen it. Kathryn gives a powerful performance. Bit of a tear jerker, so bring some tissue.

I caught this film a few months ago on Five but never actually realised that Kathryn Morris was in it!! I guess I must've caught the second half because what made me keep it on was the fact that Mark Harmon's acting was so amazing! What a completely different character compared to Gibbs in NCIS! :L Anyways....Getting Off Point....I managed to buy it but only watched it after reading this thread. Wow! I couldn't believe how good it was. I was hooked entirely all the way through! It's amazing that Kathryn Morris can portray so many different characters and make me forget about the others whilst in that specific role! It was amazing! Definitely a worth-while buy!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the film, littlelaura1992! And I can definitely see how you might've missed Kathryn the first go around. I did that myself. I happened to come across the second part of the film first, and thought, '"Wait, I thought KM was in this?" LOL! Wwhen I finally got to see the first part, I was just blown away. @riche: Nice! I'm hoping you'll enjoy it!

This is the bread and butter of her talent IMO, littlelaura. There are a lot of bigger name actresses (whom I won't mention), who not only always play the same role, but play it the same way. You feel like you've see their characters before and you have - in their last project. Kathryn makes you forget her other roles when you're watching her b/c she always brings something different to each character and further more, makes you forget that she's an actress playing a role. She's really THAT good.

I finally got to see this TV movie a couple of weeks ago. And I've finally got around to writing this. Much has been said about it already so there is little point me repeating it. A quick resume. Kathryn plays Anne Marie Fahey (aka Annie), a young woman with some personal problems (including self-esteem issues and acute loneliness) who comes under the spell of a charming and powerful man, Thomas J Capano (Tom), played by Mark Harmon. Tom is a serial womaniser, used to getting his way in all areas of his life, both personal and professional. Whilst still in what passes for a relationship with Tom Annie meets Dan, a nice guy who gives her the love, kindness and respect she has been searching for and deserves. Despite her weakness Annie finally stands-up to Tom and tries to break away from him. This is to cost her her life. As the authorities and Annie's family continue a long campaign for justice, Tom's past begins to catch up with him leading to his arrest for murder. Annie's body has never been recovered. What makes this story, one I was not familiar with, all the more tragic is that it is based on real events. In fact it a story that has yet to end. Just last month Thomas J Capano had another appeal against his sentence (originally a death sentence, commuted to life imprisonment) rejected. Kathryn is, as we've come to expect, very good in this. Despite not being in the second half of this 4 hour tale she dominates the film. The end result is made clear early on which could lead to a thoroughly depressing 4 hours but we get to see a lot of Annie's happier moments. Kathryn is a joy to watch as she lights up with that smile I love so much. Mark Harmon does a good job as the relentless Tom. I may never watch Jethro Gibbs of NCIS the same way. Abby and Ziva should watch out Of course I have to mention the hair. Kathryn's, not Mark's, which never really changes as is the case with most male actors. Short hair is fine with me, we've seen Kathryn carry it off with great panache before in Xena, The Mind Of The Married Man, Murder She Wrote, Pensacola Wings Of Gold, Mindhunters, and Hell Swarm to name quite a few. However, I wasn't so keen on the style employed here. Somehow it didn't look right, not quite real, like it didn't belong. The wild look of Hell Swarm is great. In Mind Hunters it looked more natural. In this it seems a little forced. She's still gorgeous though Well worth a watch as much for the story it tells as much as for Kathryn. OK so now we've got passed the words here are the pictures and video. I've deliberated concentrated on the lighter side and the smiles in the movie, especially in the video clips I've selected. The video clips will be in my podcast over the next few days. Hopefully you will enjoy them.

Thanks for the screencaps and video, RichE. This is one of my Kathryn faves, so it was nice to see some of it again. I especially enjoyed your "happier times" screencaps, but I have to ask; how is this one, that one, and let's not forget THIS ONE Kathryn's character in happier times? Oh, wait. I get it. Happier times for you. ;D

Oh, wait. I get it. Happier times for you. ;D What? Those first one illustrates her obsessive behaviour (coins all lined up) and her pill taking. The last two involve Annie running away after getting very upset OK, you caught me I got this one and this one passed you though? To be fair, I did try and make the caps a reasonably even view the whole film, or at least KM's role in it. I aim for at least one shot per scene. And I did include this one, this one and this one which I have some issues with Glad you enjoyed it. More video coming up.

You did get those other two by me! Oh, I didn't say that the coverage wasn't balanced. You definitely included plenty of other shots as well (the majority). And what a trooper you are for capping those more tender moments when she's with the psychotic Tom.

Thanks RichE, as much as I don't care for her hair that short this movie really looks good ( don't recall If I had seen this movie before). Judging from the screencaps Kathryn looks like she portayes a deep emotional character which she is very good in doing ( where is her Oscar and Emmy) girl's got so much talent that really goes unnoticed except for the fans.

I think I have seen this movie before. But I guess that was before I 'knew' Kathryn Morris. I should watch it again sometimes. Sounds like a shocking storyline. A shame a beauty like our Kathryn has to die. It's always the beautiful ones who die.

Thank you, RichE for the caps and clips! At the risk of repeating myself for the umpteenth time in this thread (LOL!), I do really enjoy Kathryn's performance in this film. So poignant, so tragic. A definite must see for KM fans. Bring Kleenex. Ah, but come to think of it, I don't think I've ever mentioned the hair in my previous comments, sooooo, I will say I liked this super-short cut. KM is one of those women who can wear super-short cuts so well, and yet still look so feminine and beautiful. True, this one is the most severe of her short cuts, but I still thought it worked. I also really liked the make-up and lighting in his film - very flattering on KM at times, and yet equally harsh on others to showcase Anne Marie's more insecure side and/or when she would take ill, etc. I'd actually love to see KM go back to having short hair for a while, which of course is not even a possibility until AT LEAST her time on CC ends. Can you imagine the outrage if Lilly showed up with short hair. LOL!

Thank you, RichE for the caps and clips! Always a pleasure, never a chore For me it wasn't the length of the hair but something about the shape. The strong parting and the kind of layered tufts (I can't think of a good wording). It just looked a little odd. In Mind Hunters (the movie) it was similar but more natural looking. It would certainly provoke some discussion. How many "Lillys" can there be until the phrase looses its meaning?
