Thanks so much for the heads-up, TVFan - I missed Part 1 when it aired on Lifetime a couple of months ago. I saw Part 2 - which is essentially Kathryn doing a voiceover, and way too much Mark Harmon. LOL!

I got to tune into this Sunday ... have to say I was really moved by this film. The true story aspect, to me, was just so haunting - such innocence lost in such a gruesome, callaous and horrorific way. The first time I got to see this, I tuned into Part 2 and completely missed Part 1 (LOL!). Even still, the story stuck with me. But now seeing it from start to finish, wow ... Kathryn sort of overwhelmed me with her portrayal of Anne Marie - truly capturing such a tangible, tragic innocence. I was so drawn in by how Anne Marie thought so little of herself - even with so many wonderful people in her life, and how she blamed herself for the nightmare that she couldn't escape. She seemed to be so full of life, so charming, yet she was filled with such despair. There were some moments - Dr. Connor, her collapse in the bathroom, etc. - where Kathryn's subtleties once again were in full display and just so tugged at my heartstrings. Beautifully tragic - captivating, powerful, but tragic. You just wanted to give the gal a hug. I thought Mark Harmon was excellent as Tom Capano, and I thought he had excellent chemistry not only with Kathryn but with Rachel Ward as well. He was just so creepily manipulative, so obsessed, so controlling, and so thinking he would never be held accountable. Perhaps one of the things I found most interesting was how Kathryn's naturally slender physique was used in this film - highlighting apparently Anne Marie's own struggle with eating disorder and/or loss of weight / negative self-image. I personally have never looked at Kathryn's physique with any sort of negative connotation, so it was different for me to "see" her this way (if that makes sense) - that her own natural body type was arguably portrayed in a not-so-positive way, and was an essential part of the character's struggle. All in all, I really enjoyed this film ... and I found myself wishing it wasn't based on such a tragic true story ...

Well said, LillyKat! I felt as you did after seeing this film. I didn't go into it thinking that it would strike such a cord in me. Like you, I was wishing it was based on fiction instead of fact. Just a tragic story, and it so closely reminded me of another tragic true-crime, Laci Peterson.

I hope you caught it Boxman! I've watched the first 2 hours (with Kathryn) several times and never bothered with the 2nd 2 hours. I bought the book years ago, so I know how it ends.
This movie is some of her best acting, IMO.

Hi Michelle and ByrdMan! I didn't miss it this afternoon. I really enjoyed it. Kathryn was great! My only criticism is that it was so loooonnnnggg.... I need to get a few things done before Cold Case airs in about an hour, so I'll post more thoughts later.

...I've watched the first 2 hours (with Kathryn) several times... You got to watch this movie with the star of the show??? ;D
Wilmington, Delaware is only about thirty miles southwest of Philly, so this case was big, headline news for the city from the time Anne-Marie disappeared until Tom Capano was convicted. As the case unfolded, it was just very strange to see this once powerful man from a powerful family brought down to convicted murderer. And it was also a shame as we learned how his brothers helped him and how the murder occured. But all through it, we only gotten to know Anne-Marie by photographs and from statements by her relatives. I was kinda skeptical going in to this movie, because as I said earlier, Kathryn Morris looks nothing like Anne-Marie Fahey. I now wonder if they intentionally did that out of respect for the Faheys?? Because Kathryn brought a lot of life to Anne-Marie's character. Admittingly, the differences in appearances annoyed me as I watched it; and I was familiar with many of the twists and turns the case took, so four hours was a bit long to me. But by watching this, for the first time I could actually imagine and feel what Anne-Marie was like in real life. It was a nice change to see Kathryn play a character that's different from Lilly (especially someone who simply smiled more often. ). Also surprising to see Rachel Ward and how she has gracefully aged. I can still remember her from 1984's "Against All Odds". I'm happy to have *finally* seen this movie.
