Found this story on zap2it.com. Looks like CC is adding a new producer.
----------------------- 'Cold Case' Makes Matheson a Hot Producer (Monday, July 19 11:30 PM)
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) In recent years, veteran character actor Tim Matheson has worked to carve out an alternate career on the other side of the camera. After directing episodes on some of television's most respected shows, Matheson is joining the team on CBS' "Cold Case" as a producer, rather than as a thespian. While he will always be Eric "Otter" Stratton to several generations of "Animal House" fans, Matheson has developed into one of the most reliable guest stars on television. His list of cameos include visits on "Cybill," "King of Queens," "Ed" and "Without a Trace."
Matheson earned two Emmy nominations for his role as John Hoynes, the original vice president in the Bartlett administration on "The West Wing." In addition to recent telefilm work in projects like "Martha, Inc.: The Story of Martha Stewart" and "Judas," Matheson has directed episodes of "Ed" and "Third Watch," while entering the Jerry Bruckheimer universe with stints helming "Without a Trace" and, in its first season, "Cold Case." In addition to serving as a producer on "Cold Case" for the forensic drama's sophomore year, Matheson is slated to direct multiple episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Do they still have Shaun Cassidy involved with this show? He left at one point to help out with the already doomed "Tarzan" last season.

That's an interesting question. I haven't heard anything either way on him. TVTome has his name under executive producer, but then has 2003 in parenthesis. Maybe he's out then? Anyone know for sure?

Tim Matheson wil be guest starring on episode 7 of "The West Wing" this season, returning as former VP John Hoynes.
Since the episode of Cold Case he directed last season, "The Lost Soul of Herman Lester" was not one of the season's best, I'm glad he's not totally giving up his day job.
