So what's it going to be?

I chose either because I just want them to give us plenty of Lilly story lines - happy or "tormented." I know that happy doesn't make for good television, but her always being tormented can get old as well IMO. I guess they'll just have to continue to balance it out. As long as they give us more personal stuff with her, I'll be happy either way.

Ditto TV FAN. I seem to be agreeing with you a lot lately. You're not channelling me are you?
But anyways, yeah, I do love a little 'Lilly Variety'. If she's soo happy for too long, it might get on my nerves. And vice-versa.

I also Like the Lilly variety , but not when she's too happy then she looses focus of who she is. Don't get me wrong, I like to see Lilly happy but it get too much

I voted for "don't care". Cause I don't. Too much torment and too much mush are both bad, best formula is when they keep the focus OFF her personal life. I'd rather see her react to victims and cases and her own coworkers.

See Lilly in love actually makes me feel that she isn't herself

I voted....either.........as long as I get to see heaps of Lilly, I'm happy. I like her both in "love" and "tormented", variety between the two is a good thing....so there you are

Oooo, just noticed this thread so thought I'd better have my say. I voted for either cos' as most people I just wanna see loads of Lilly. I like her in love as she's all sweet and lovely but I also love her tormented as some of her emotions and reactions to things are amazing to watch.

I prefer her tormented (sadistic me!). The way she displays human conflict and inner pain warring with an outer desire for privacy is so compelling and REAL to me!

Is 'Lilly in love' supposed to mean 'happy' Lilly?? Don't wanna see her being too mushy or flirtatious. Enough. It depends on how the writers weave her social life into stories, but tormented seems to have more potential to delve into inner real her. Uncontrollable emotion. And like michelle said, she is terrifically good at expressing those, IMO.

That is a VERY good question! Says a lot about what is supposed to constitute a fulfilling life for women.
She's got a job she loves, the private home life she wants, friends and respect. Do we assume she is not happy because she's not in love??
Any unhappiness on her part is not caused by the lack of a man in her life. IMO.
Put a male character in this role, and he'd be portrayed as the happiest guy on the show, because he is NOT tied down by love!

I dunno what season 1 lilly ecaxtly was but I liked that. She was...well, not arrogant, but a bit aggressive I guess. I liked season 1 lilly because she reminded a lot like myself. But at the moment I hope there would be a lot of Lilly. Don't care if she's extreamely happy or tormented...I only wish they would give more about her personal life.
