I had a dream last night about Kathryn which is unusual but I was online alot doing stuff yesterday. But the dream made me think about what I'd like to see for the character of Lilly Rush for Season 4. I just love the way they have shown us a Lilly Rush who sits at home in her bedroom with her cats and looks at her victims. What other show has ever shown such ingenuity. It's nothing elaborate but it's real. And in those scenes Lilly is a nice gal. She no different than anyone else and we wonder what she thinks as she sit/lies there espcecially alone in the dark. With that I'd love to see Lilly have some love in her life. I'd love to see a shot of her just like that in her bed with her lover fast asleep beside her and now she not only has her cats but some love. Now we don't need to see any elaborate love scenes. Just keep it simple. Maybe she sits at work and doodles Josephs name or whoever you want her to doodle. I doubt they will ignore this development in Lilly and abandon it for season 4. I hope they don't. They don't have to over do it either. But it would be nice to know Lilly has someone and maybe learn, too, she has a friend as well that we've never met. Now that the show is moving to a later time slot, we may have some pleasant surprises all the way round for the show. This could really be a good change.

I would love to see scenes like this as well, Naj. It shows a different side to Lilly that we don't know much about. I hope they give us more personal, at home type of scenes this season.

Right on Naj and TVFan - could not agree more with both your posts. I would love to see more personal Lilly. Not a ton, not over the top, but bits and pieces here and there to further round out the character would be a nice addition to what we are already accustomed to.

Here's something interesting to think about: In Season Three's Episode 6, "Saving Patrick Bubley", we learn that Lilly's first homicide case happens in November 1999. Season Three's Episode 11 was called "8 Years". Season Three's Episode 15, "Sanctuary", was related to an undercover case that Scotty did "8 Years" earlier in 1998. Season Three's Episode 19, "Beautiful Little Fool" alludes to F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel "The Great Gatsby". In the movie of that book, Gatsby is in love with a girl named Daisy, whom they were to be married to each other "8 Years" earlier.... See the pattern?? 2007 is going to be "8 Years" since Lilly became a Homicide detective!! Could Season Four be leading up to something really big for Lilly in June 2007?? DisasterFreak, are you reading this?? See, this is why you need to watch Season Four!! ;D ;D ;D

Here's something more to chew on: In Season Three's Episode 22, "The River", the victim was Doctor Grant Bowen. A Doctorate degree, or Ph.D. (in the U.S.), takes "8 Years" to complete. In the same episode, Dr. Bowen receives a good luck charm from a Chinese woman. In addition to Jade, the number "8": "is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture because it sounds like the word 'prosper' or 'wealth'"Link HERE

Well, I think that instead of "rocket science", it's actually rather primitive. You know, before humans communicated with language and written words, we used symbols to communicate. For example, grunting, hand jestures, cave paintings, stick dolls, and so forth. You just have to keep in mind that this show does this, so all you have to do is notice the pattern of something being repeated over and over. Like when you play charades with someone, after a while, they keep repeating something over and over to try and tell you something..... So do you folks think that there's some significance to the number "8" and perhaps the year 2007??

I wouldn't mind seeing another Lilly flashback episode.
boxman,
I'm amazed at how you make all these connections. Sorta like what Mark Burnett does with Survivor. He tells a secret symbolic story.

Wow that is some awesome stuff boxman. I have never really tried to connect things like that with CC, and I too hope that we see something good happen to Lilly, longislanditalian2~ She needs something good to happen to her, since her younger years were so tragic. Whether it's a man or some kind of promotion, as long as she is happy, I don't care what it is! ;D

It's like a 6 degress of separation kind of connection! I love those. Then again, 8 might just be someone's favourite number or something (used in the same way that Chris Carter used his wife's birthday; 1013, for basically everything, and it kept popping up in XF eps). Then again, I'm hopefuly something big is going to happening! Hopefully not Lilly quitting because the ratings are too good atm, aren't they? Maybe a promotion... Emotional fulfillment (A certain someone with a J name)... I don't know. Possibilities are probably close to endless, but my mind is currently drawing a blank!

Lilly shows up at work with her hair in pigtails. Okay. Okay. I got this from the Games forum. "They would never". But, I think this would be really funny. I could just hear Vera now. Vera: "What's wrong with your hair?"
