I was just looking over Season 1 Lilly which I truly miss her on KathrynFan's index thread in Fan Art. Just want to share this with you. Look thru the pics and see our first impressions of Lilly. Lilly Season 1 Look Again One of my favs So I was wondering what it was it about her that drew so many fans. Please feel free to add on. I'll go first. She was compassionsate but tough

The second link is not working for me... I love almost all the female police series characters ;] but Lilly is the most beautiful and most interesting of them. Maybe I fell in love with her because she was so stubborn?

She was resentful and angsty inside, but perfectly functional on the outside. In other words, a normal person. Plus, she seemed perfectly content with just her cats (until Kite came to ruin it, grrr).

I thought he was weird but he tried to get her to loosen up. :smile8: They were 'different' as a couple. And we discovered a "coldness" to Lilly which was very unexpected.

I think Kite was a little pushy , he was the one who would be the boss of their relationship but in the end, he didn't give her a chance , just as she was started to get close to him . The "coldness" to lilly is a important fact ,she can be so nice to one but when it comes to someone drinking ,she becomes an ice queen about it .

I think she gets cold whenever anyone tries to trespass her personal boundaries--Kite was too pushy for his own good. If he hadn't pushed so hard, she might have opened up more in time. Who knows? Or maybe she never would. There's some people who just don't like having anyone that close, emotionally speaking.

Season-one-Lilly-hair was great! I loved how it looked "not-dolled-up" but good in the same time. I liked the "edge" Lilly used to have. She was really passionate, in a different kind of way than she is now. I miss that...

Maybe I fell in love with her because she was so stubborn? It's the sixth row down, the last picture of Lilly in the row I was trying to post using KF's link which won't allow me to do. It's the one of a close up of Lilly with her blue blouse. sukkerspinn, I agree on the hair look of Lilly in season one. There was something about her makeup and hair color. Maybe it was the more uniform style of clothing too? Anyhow, whatever it was I miss it.

But people don't stay looking the same for ever! Especially girls. I think she looks great now and don't think her hair down makes her any different. It's not like she's flicking it around or brushing it all day long.
Anyway what I initially liked about Lilly was the fact that all these guys she came into contact with would just see this pretty woman and think they could say anything to intimidate or make advances to her and she would just brush it off and make some smart comment to make them look pathetic. In Look Again Todd Whitley thought he could charm her, Henry Floyd in Hitchikkers thought he could could intimidate her and then there was John Butler in Revolutions who who invited to buy her a 'steak dinner' to which Lilly smartley replied 'vegetarian.' Classic scenes!!

Yes, Sonny!! Totally agree! Oh, Lilly in Look Again: "The comissionar? Screw him!" season 3 Lilly would never say that... Not in that attidude anyways. I guess maybe s1 Lilly was a bit more of a rebellion. I've figured that she might have had a bigger need to prove herself back then, and now, tho she was taken aback by the George-thing, she's maybe more confident in herself. But that's only this blonde girl's speculation...

But that's only this blonde girl's speculation... I agree she doesn't need to prove herself now and that is possibly why she has mellowed a little. She doesn't need to use the attitude as much and she is better able to judge the suitable tactics to use now. She knows now that sometimes revealing a little about herself is gonna get her the info she needs and at other times she needs to be slightly aggresive and threatening to get what she wants and other times be completely unsympathetic to get what she wants. She seems to be very good at judging situations; something which I feel Scotty is not so good at.

Lilly has definitely softened her edge since season 1, but I'm not sure that this is a bad thing. I guess I see it more as the character growing and evolving, which is always a good thing especially on a procedural crime drama that doesn't give you a lot of character development. I loved Lilly season 1, but I also love the current evolved version of her. She's smarter, more confident in her work, and little rattled by all her experiences.

I like how Lilly has changed. Her character isn't static and it makes us [or me anyway] want to see and know more and more about her. You never really know what is gonna happen with her next. Like at the moment; is she gonna keep holding it together or is she gonna fall apart? She shows us that she's so borderline emotional that we just don't know what is gonna happen. I love that!!

It's not that I don't like the current Lilly, but the S1 Lilly had so much more attitude and was much more tough. Maybe it was a sign of less maturity, but those were part of the "Lilly package" I fell in love with. But of course, it's great to her evolving as a person. And I'll always have the season 1 episodes on tape to remember the old Lilly when I want to.

Alot has happened to her and it's no wonder she is in the state she is in. I just hope she gets through it all without to much pain.

the character change happens with every show , None of the characters stay like there were in the first or second seasons . Lilly is still the same but is going through a transformation , she is realizing that she needs someone and shouldn't be alone so much . Most of all she is accepting what had happened to her and that she cannot change what happened in the past. But what happened in her past is only going to make her stronger , that is the message the writer want us to know.

Interesting inside view longisland... Anyway, i liked her better in season 1. She was edgy, tough and very "being there" detective. Yes, she's changed but i'm not convinced it was for the better.

Maybe she's doing it because she herself is changing ,after george she realized she needed a change for the better so she doesn't end up alone like george ( letting her hair down) She's starting to pull people closer not apart . It's a big life chage but she's knows it will all be worth it
