oh wow you really think she ever had bad make up??? well in this one scene in family, the one with the g-newspaper, she looked a bit overmakeupd, but well that was the only time... i love it when she looks so feminin and i also love her lip stick... i think she is just awesome, i can´t imagine her being not beautiful, even if she had much too much make up which she doesn´t...
i also don´t think she is pregnant, but i hope she will be, i just want her to be mommy and well with her huge family and stuff i´m sure she whould like to,too and she´s even engaged isn´t she?? it is the perfect time for a lil baby... and well many actresses keep shooting though they get a child ;D

It struck me when I was enjoying the first scenes of 3rd season that Lil's eyebrows are different. In the whole Family episode she looked odd, IMO. Now it is much better, but I still miss our old girl :/

yes in those first scenes she looked like she had just seen a ghost which she did not long before... well yeah she changed but sure she did, i mean after she killed george, nothing would ever be the same, and well with changing her face, her hair, these are things that show she is somewhat moving on which is important, i think she looks much more mature in season 3, like something, maybe the girl in her, is gone forever!

I've noticed a makeup improvement as of late. Hope it stays that way.

ewkai hope the girl isn´t gone, especially not forever, but even before the woods, she often looked so sad.... almost broken... i just worry about her!

I'm not sure the girl was ever really there. But she does seem more serious now, though I'm not sure "mature" fits exactly. She's more like emotionally-rocked, like the ground moved from underneath her and she's got all these feelings coming out of nowhere and doesn't know what to do with them. Then other times she's our old Lilly again.

I definitely understood your meaning. I think one of the marks of good writing is allowing your characters to evolve over time. Static characters tend to cause audiences to lose interest or simply tune them out. Dynamic characters are more fascinating because they're more true to life. Each experience we have changes us in some way. Lilly is a very dynamic character. She has evolved a lot since season 1, and it's a bit surprising because most people think that procedurals equal no character development. This, thankfully, just isn't the case with this show. Lilly didn't start working cold jobs until the Pilot, so it's natural that the new beat would change her a lot over the past few seasons. She has dealt with some very emotional cases and others that have hit too close to home. I think Lilly has worked her entire career to rise above her rough upbringing, but certain cases bring it right back for her and that makes her uncomfortable. She doesn't want to seem vulnerable, so she puts up this tough front, but as we've seen this season, she is very vulnerable on the inside. She almost fell to pieces right in front of us in Saving Patrick Bubley. I think that was her work-related bottoming out, and that's why we've seen a more sedate Lilly in the episodes since. The writers are definitely taking us through her emotional state this season. I just hope they follow it through and give us some glimpses into her emotions in a private setting at home instead of always at the office.

@disaster yeah you really said what we all meant, that is it!
@tv fan yeah i also think that development of a person is very important, realistic and interesting to watch for the audience.... and yeah there were cases that really hit her, emotionall, i mean.... take fly away, she almost broke in fron of scotty, well in fact she didn´t being all saracstic and stuff.... but things like that happened later again, the woods, mindhunters, even sherry darlin, or kensington, all things that have had and stil have a huge emotional affect on her... george of course the most, as that was vry directly linked to lilly and she had to kill him, what of course changes everybody! well i just hope she learns to deal with those stuff and find some way to just let go.... would you maybe tell me more about how she is since Saving Patrick, because SPB was my lasr ep. HELP!

I didn't see last night's "Franks Best" b/c my CBS station didn't air it (grr! - I had to record it in the middle of the night and haven't seen it yet)), so I can't speak to that episode, but she has seemed better since Saving Patrick Bubley. Definitely less emotional. I guess we'll have to see what happens in the future.

yes i got the impression from the pics i saw too... she seems more relaxed last time but well in 3x10, i think there are some typical lilly-emotion scenes in, but all together she seems good and relaxed
