 :-/I want them to stay together. I like them t :-/ogether and I think Lilly's character will open up through this relationship. They work so well together, too. I wonder if they are friends off the set. They seem like they would be.

yeah I agree, they do make a cute couple. In an interview I saw her on, she was saying how the whole cast really gets along and they all eat lunch together every day and they are all good friends, so I'm guessing they probably are close off set.  |

I think it's great when the casts become close friends like that. It makes it so much more pleasant to work together and makes for better chemistry on the set. Love these guys!!!! ;D

I can't wait to see what's gonna happen in the final show but I'd bank on another mini-makeout or we're gonna find out more about Lily's past via Kite. I think their such a sweet couple and it allows the writers to show her vulnerability and girlishness. You go Lily-girl! |

Spoiler * * * * * * * * I was thinking the same thing Naj! I noticed that Meredith Stiehm wrote the episode, so I'm guessing it's the direction that she wants for the show. Needless to say, I was bummed - big time.  Although, I had a very bad feeling about their relationship going into this episode, so I wasn't completely surprised. Still bummed though. |

i watched it , about 1/2 an hour ago. and i realized what was going to happen right after he sat down. I said it, out loud, "No, hes not..."
i personally, would love to kill kite right now. (Not Josh Hopkins, Kite) I think that was EXACTLY what Lilly was afraid of. She got to close, and she thought it might be love, and he dumped her out of nowhere. That's why she was so hesitant in the first place, she didnt want to get hurt. But she wasnt just hurt either. HE CRUSHED HER. I could feel like crushing him right now... sry guys i get a little emotional.
on the other hand, if we werent all so emotionally attached to Lilly, we would see that Kite has a point ( a small one), but a point. Lilly is married to her work. Anything awkward comes up, she turns to her work.
One question though, did kite really fully break up with her, or was it like a think about what i just said thing and we'll talk later?
And now, we get to wait until September until we know...

Hi all!
I just posted in the episode forum (because as I was typing I remembered one small minor point about Kite). When he and Lily first met they talked about their schedules. He would always be going home at 7pm and Lily would be working - glued to her case. That's the only thing...but it was so outta nowhere.
The parting shot of Lily..... what's gonna happen next season? I wonder what direction they will put her in? No love interest because the show is renewed for a second season because the format is what the public wants to see? The Cold Cases? and not a romance? Questions.....

I have to agree with everyone who has said that it was totally out of nowhere. TruBlu - you really nailed everything that I was thinking. Lilly really went against what she thought was best and committed to Kite. How does he repay her? By dumping her one night where she had to talk to the guy? What was she suppose to do? Tell the guy sorry, but I'm trying to mack with my "boyfriend?" I agree that she shouldn't have stayed out there as long as she did, but Kite was mad from the get go. Did you see the look on his face when she said she'd be five minutes? Oh, and I didn't like his snide remark at the table the next day about her "funny idea of five minutes." My heart broke when she said she screwed up. I guess he doesn't believe in second chances.  |

Another thought.....
The fact that she was dumped tonight might allow more exploration for her past. That was touched upon, again, tonight when she was asked if she had a soul mate and then was told: "So you've never been in love like that." And Lily, at one point said something like: "At 15--she had a whole other life planned. It was impossible." To be truthful I'm more interested, for now, in Lily's back story. What is at her core. I think this will free her up to tell some of that story next season.

Questions..... ~Naj I think Kite was written out of the show because of Josh Hopkins new show, "Ricochet". When I first read about it, I had the feeling this was going to happen. I really hope they give Lilly a new love interest. I thought the Kite storyline made us see a different side of Lilly. I remember when I first watched Hubris, I was pleasantly surprised they were going to give Lilly a romance. On the CBS website there's a poll asking if Lilly is too focused on her career. I guess the producers are trying to find out what the public wants for next season. So I think we should vote that we want more about her personal life. Here where I live (Brazil) we're a little behind on the episodes. I haven't even watched Late Returns (it's going to air this Friday), and I already know they're going to break up... that makes me really sad... |

Kite, if i remember correctly, is the one who started it all! And since Hubris, HE KNEW that Lilly was married to her work, but he didnt really seem to care. he seemed more interested in her. which i thought was sweet. maybe he thought he could change her. he went over the top with the *you have a funny idea of 5 minutes comment* if you are doing something that is important, you tend to lose track of time. No one is perfect. Mark needed someone to talk to, and Lilly happened to be the person he chose. Lilly had no control over that, and Kite should have known better than to blame her. Lilly may go over the top sometime, but this was definitely not her fault.

ok, so i haven't seen it yet, but I head he dumped her. I'm tiffed, of course, and i'm not really sure what the circumstances were (I'll find out in an hour), but part of me is sort of glad. I kind of felt like the relationship was strange from the get go. I mean, they're really cute together and they have a lot of chemistry and I wished he hadn't dumped her, but from what we saw of their relationship, it was mostly him who wanted it, and she was sort of not really into it. I don't really know if it makes sense, but maybe next time she's in a romance, it will be more balanced.

WHat is Kite's first name? It has been bugging me for soooooo long. All they say is ADA Kite! Does he even have a first name?

I was thinking it could be a woman, but I know that they like to stress that Lily is the only woman, so maybe it will be another guy or something. I'd like to see her develop a strong friendship with someone. |

Although, I had a very bad feeling about their relationship going into this episode, so I wasn't completely surprised. Still bummed though.
