Entertainment Tonight is running a contest that ends in the beginning of July. They want fans to email them with their favorite "All-American Star." I know Kathryn probably doesn't have a huge shot of making the final list, but I thought we could all send in emails for her anyway. At the very least, maybe the show will get the hint that there is a strong CC fan base out there and start covering it and Kathryn more. So, let ET know why Kathryn is your favorite "All-American Star!" Get all the details here! |

Good idea TVfan.  But I continue to be astonished that Kathryn isn't more recognized by the profession (apparently no nomination this year). How much other American actresses much less talented are however on the front of the scene. Very very strange for me. But I think that Kathryn knows that her talent conquered the heart of million fans everywhere in the world. |

Kathryn has most likely not received as much recognition because many so-called "star" qualities are beneath her. From what I can tell, Kathryn is pure class. Her fun doesn't include any drunken brawls, that I've heard of anyway, and she has that unheard of habit of keeping her clothes on. No lawsuits, no verbal or physical abuse (given or taken). All American "star"  Kathryn is an All American Lady. |

Not to mention, she isn't traipsing all over the globe hawking pictures of her newborn to the highest bidder! Seems there isn't much newsworthy about a beautiful woman with class and respectability.

I agree with all of you .... KM is a Lady with class and respectability .... and she has the sincere recognition of her fans ...

I did it! Here's what I wrote:
My choice for All-American Star is Kathryn Morris from CBS' Cold Case. To me and alot of others she is much more than a star. She is classy, sophisticated, hilarious, very beautiful but sadly very overlooked. Not only does she star in a top-rated show, she has also a great collection of movies under her belt including Minority Report, Paycheck, AI: Artificial Intelligence and The Contender. With an upcoming movie starring alonside Samuel L. Jackon and Josh Harnett, plus a fourth season of Cold Case in the fall, Kathryn is one hard working lady. However unlike alot of 'stars' these days Kathryn Morris remains down to earth and a great role-model to young people. She leads as normal life as possible and states she'd rather get credit from her work rather than anything else. That is true 'star' quality in my opinion, proving that working hard can bring you the best kind of success and fulfilment. And although as a fan I'd like to see as much of her as possible I admire her more for being that little bit different from the normal Hollywood celebrity. Making more public appearences at charity events rather than movie premieres and parties adds to her charm and proves she cares more about using her status to help others and support things that matter.
I choose Kathryn Morris; a true All_American Star!!

That's awesome sonny! You said it so well and so eloquently. I especially loved this part because I totally agree: I actually like the fact that her personal life is so well guared and she isn't hounded by the paps even though that means we see less of her. I'd much rather have limited, classy coverage than overexposed, fame-happy stuff. Now, seeing the show get more press and Kathryn's work in general get more press is totally fine with me. In fact, bring it on! |

I agree completely Sonny and TVFan! I hope she's able to check out this board once in a while and know that she's more (much more!) than just fodder for the Hollywood publicity mill.

The results were announced last night on ET. Unfortunately, Kathryn wasn't in the top 10 (the only ones they revealed). I'm glad we got her name out there for this, though. Maybe ET will start paying more attention to her and the show. For those who are curious, here's the Top 10: 10: Tie! I know what you mean sonny. But I guess it was to be expected...but hey if we all keep voting for Kathryn in various polls and so on she should get the credit she deserves sometime right? I haven't been following this thread so I'll just answer the question in the subject. All-American? I assume so. If someone wants to point me at the part that isn't American I will happily appraise it  Star? Almost certainly, as clearly and wonderfully stated by the previous posters above. Mine? i wish i've been a member during this poll, i could have added to the votes! anyway, one thing that really made me admire kathryn as an actress coz of the "keeping the clothes on"... even from the time when she was just starting out, i mean it's very rare that you find a hollywood actor/actress who didn't do a movie and took her clothes off and just make out with another actor... i guess, it was also because she was this church singer when she was growing up...and investing on her skills and competency rather than her looks! that's pretty inspiring esp for others who'd like to be an actress... that's why i am so happy that cold case is doing well, and that she is the lead of the show! i really hope that she'll have more good projects on her way coz she rightfully deserves these! i also hope that the award-giving bodies like the emmy's will take notice of the acting kathryn did for cold case... i've watched the whole of season 1 eps and just starting to watch season 2...she did a really great job and it's so frustrating to think how the emmy's ignored her and cold case... ok enough of this, am i sounding too dramatic now?!? |
