Cool. Are the Xena DVDs for KM's episodes out yet? I was never a Xena fan and didn't see them the first time around...

Cool. Are the Xena DVDs for KM's episodes out yet? I was never a Xena fan and didn't see them the first time around... Hi irishkale, I believe the Season 4 dvds with both of Kathryn's appearances is coming out June 15. Jenn's is a good source to keep up to date on this: XWPOnline: xwponline.net/tvschedule.phpI was hoping they would have gotten Kathryn for an interview for one of the episodes but it looks like they didn't or just weren't able to. She's probably too busy these days! ~Naj

*waxes poetic*Kathryn would have been one of the greatest -audio commentary- reasons to purchase the Season 4 set!!! I'm severely disappointed that they didn't try a wee little bit harder to try to interview one of the greatest XWP villianesses ever! IMHO, of course!! Irishkale, if you don't want to purchase the Xena set, you can always join www.netflix.com and rent the discs with those episodes (I'll let you know which eps have KM when I get my Season 4 set!!!).... And, yeah, Naj, those DO come out June 15th.. *waiting not so patiently* Kathryn's seriously spooky tripped out in these eps (Crusader, Convert)!! Warrior, leader, healer, peacemaker, religious fruitcake -- KM pulls it off convincingly and with depth!! Plus she kicks the everloving snot out of Xena quite a few times... and delivers some of the best lines EVER (which showed how much Gab confided in that crazy djinn-influence nutcase)!! But I digress.... I'm sorry I got my chocolate in your peanut butter. *backs out of the room slowly*

Naj - I noticed that you posed the question about what other KM fans thought of her appearance on Xena. I watched the most recent airing of the two eps that she was on. I had never seen the show before, but I thought that KM was fantastic, especially on the second episode (The Convert). The most impressive part for me was the end of this episode. I'm going to leave spoiler space in case others still want to catch the episodes next time they come around. * * * * * * Okay, the end of this episode was amazing. Kathryn was one tough chick! I couldn't believe the way she beat the crap out of Xena. I was really impressed with her moves, and the rage that she showed. Those stunts on the vines were incredible. And that scene went on for a while so she must have been exhausted! Very memorable performance.

You liked it? I must admit Xena was my first exposure to KM. Her character is just so different on there and she seems much more mature than she really was at the time. (28)? which is the same age the character of Xena was at the time I believe (29 maybe). Now I realize it's a fantasy show but her character just hooked me into the the storyline. Kathryn did say in an interview she took the part to learn sword play I believe. The fight you are referring to happened at the end of Crusader and it was the Convert where they really wrote her as a wacko. I'm so glad you took the time to watch it. I just love how Najara digs Xena about hurting others. Anyhow, Today! the Season 4 DVD's come out of this season and I'm getting it. There is commentary on most of the episodes but they couldn't get Kathryn. She must have been too busy shooting Cold Case/

Naj- Yeah, I did like it. I thought that it really showed KM's depth as an actor. I mean, if you watch CC and then watch Xena (or vise versa), there really is no comparison between the characters. They are soooo different, and she does such a great job playing both. Who knew she could play such a wacko?

And then one of the lines in the pilot is that She is a Crusader! Can you imagine I kept waiting for the Jinn to direct her in the Cold Cases. It just seemed so odd to me. I can see how Pensacola helped her to be on Cold Case. The male world type thing and being able to cut it. But mostyly I think KM has had such a variety of characters. I'm gong to have to check out that "Contender" movie. ~Naj

You'll love KM's several scenes in "The Contender." (Rod Lurie has cast her in each of his movies.) She's a young FBI agent, physically clunky in the "Columbo" manner -- dark hair in a ponytail, bangs, big glasses. Her interrogations are marvels of incision. When she goes after William Petersen's puffed-up politico, it's like a scalpel entering a roll of baloney. (The deleted scenes have her Q-and-A with his wife.) She and Bridges are the best components here. KM credits this role with her subsequent good fortune. The Spielberg parts followed after he saw this. Also a fascinating early draft of Lilly Rush?

Oh my goodness, I am a Xena addict but somehow never put it together that was our Kathryn in that episode. Now I have to go rewatch it. Like right now. Thanks for pointing it out.

Naj - That's too funny about the pilot. Had you seen her in anything since Xena? Or was CC the first time? I have to second blankregus about her role in "The Contender." I didn't even know who she was back then, but I thought that the performance was fabulous. Definitely check it out.
