I was on the Oprah site and came across this piece from the April 2004 O Magazine. It's an article on the books that you'd find on Kathryn's bookshelf. It has some interesting insight into her and her childhood. Kathryn's BookshelfBe sure to click on the link under her picture to scroll though the books and her reasons behind them.

I used to love the Curious George books when I was a kid. Thanks TVFan, that piece does give great insight into Kathryn's personality.

was there an interview (either print or on video) of Kathryn mentioning that she never did TV commercials? She phrased it something like "I was lucky I never had to do commercials for _____". Maybe I'm misremembering...
Reason I ask is that in the descriptory text for one of the "bookshelf" books she said that she did some commercials in Japan....cool.

Her books sound interesting! I used to love the Ramona books too, in fact I think I still have some lying around. I have never read any self-help books. Ppl recommend them but I can't seem to read anything without a plot
