Good evening everyone, Hey, this is the Byrdman coming at you again. I hope everyone is doing well, and that hump day of the week is rocking and rolling for everyone too!  I just had a quick question, and I was curious if anyone could help me with it. I was curious if KM or the show Cold Case are up for an Emmy this year. I hope that the Emmys have not already happened too (man, I would sure look dumb). However, I have heard so much about Cold Case being up for consideration, and KM for female lead as well (quite deservedly, I should think  . I have heard NOTHING about how this process is shaping up, and if someone could provide any kind of up date, it would be most appreciated. Thanks, and take care today, everyone! |

The ballots for the nominations were due back June 22, and I believe the actual nominations are announced mid July-ish. We'll have to keep our ears out, but knowing the Emmy's pundant for nominating the same people/shows every year, I'm not getting my hopes up. All of the talented people who work on Cold Case definitely deserve to be nominated at least. It's such a shame that it works the way it does.

Hey Byrdman! I'm just glad to help when I can. TvFan was right, the nominees were announced back in June/July. Even so, I still haven't found a list of the nominees on the web... but i'll keep looking into this! And, yes, I did get your last PM. I agree, it always seems to be the same actors and actresses nominated year after year. While they may well be deserving, there are so many other folks out there, Like KM, who deserve and have earned a shot. Yay, 10 days till the nominations are announced. |

The nominations were announced this morning, and neither Kathryn nor Cold Case were nominated for best actess/best drama. The one bright spot in the nominations was "Factory Girls." It was nominated for Outstanding Art Direction. Dear TVFan, Hey, girl! Thanks so much for posting this info for everyone (although it was not what we were hoping for, at least entirely ). That is a real bummer that KM is not nominated again. She is such a remarkable actress and such a beautiful girl too. And Cold Case still receives no nomination, either. I was hopeful that eps like "Mindhunter" would have helped it along some. However, at least the show got a nomination for art direction in "Factory Girls." I do not believe that Cold Case has ever received a nomination for an Emmy, maybe I'm wrong.  In any case, this may be an inroad to get our girl KM and our show recognized more fully in the Emmy nominations. Gotta keep those high hopes! Thanks again so much for posting this, TVFan. You're welcome byrdman, and I couldn't agree more. I know that the Emmys tend to be anti-procedural, so I pretty much figured Cold Case would not receive a Best Drama nod. But Kathryn had an amazing year. She really had to give us a range of emotions and she did it all so subtly and realistically. It's an absolute shame that she wasn't recognized again this year. Hopefully, she'll get the recognition she deserves somewhere down the line. "Scrubs" finally got nominated and it has been on the air for five or so seasons, so there's hope for the future! |

:smile33: I just think it's terribly unfair CC doesn't get due recognition. At least I'm glad one of its episodes is up for something... wish I remembered more about that ep, then at least I could agree or disagree. Anyway, for what it's worth, I'm glad they've acknowledged the show exists. :smile23:

Yup, it's obvious Cold Case will never win anything. It will be a basically popular Sunday evening show but that's about it. It could be because they really don't have KM as a strong lead in season two. :smile10:  |

I mean some of the shows I've never heard of [here in the UK]. I mean Medium for instance?? that isn't as big as Cold Case is it??? I'm bewildered and a little annoyed. |

Just one nomination? I am a little disappointed even so I don't care much about the Emmys. It's a pitty Cold Case and Kathryn Morris aren't heeded more this year.
But hopefully this will change in the future.
