This is a 2007 case. Victim is Brenda Callahan, 29, who disappeared the night of her engagement party.
There's a very interesting dynamic between Rush, Valens and the murder suspect in this case, John Smith. Looks like Lilly and Scotty are escorting him back to Philly. He's definitely creepy, totally reminded me of George, and keeps teasing the both of them, taunting them and studying their reactions. It's gonna make a great episode.
There's also a mention of Lilly's injury from last year's finale in their conversation.

This sounds good, especially about the murder suspect. Glad there is a mention of her injury.

2007... I'm not a fan of all these recent cases as interesting as this one sounds. They haven't done a 70's one in ages. I'm guessing that its a music issue though and maybe they don't really have the money to be spending on music from 30 years ago.
I hope the book gets closed on the shooting properly.

Glad they're not letting the shooting drop entirely. There's a lot of ground to cover yet with that whole thing.

Maybe the reason why this is another 2000's case is b/c there crime rate has been getting higher in Philly.
Anyhow, I'm glad there is a character that remindes me of George. It makes a good plot for all of the characters and storylines.

i really don't the understand the issue is about what year the cases are. as long as the story is good and the acting is well played to suit the storylines..that's what really matters. personally for me, the "feel" of the some of the eras ESPECIALLY the 80's depicted are sometimes quite exaggerated and often overshadows the stories. the first time i saw "gleen"..i was thinking..jesus..the victim portrayed was way overdone. i know mtv and cyndi lauper was the rage but give me a break. i was too distracted in horror with that woman's hair that i could barely pay attention to the actual story the first time i watched it. don't get me wrong..i never hated the 80's but reallly how many duran duran, the cure, psychadelic furs or other cheesy new wave music need to be played on these episodes?
in my opinion i think season 5 has gotten better and mature. the topics are controversial..the motives behind the murders are even more twisted, filming styles are balanced, and the focus has obviously been revamped.
i am happy the strike is over and that new episodes are coming regardless what year these cases are in or who lily is sleeping with or whether her hair is up or down.

It's not that there's anything wrong with a few recent cases, but I think what the people here are getting at is that it's been more than just a few. It seems like every second episode is a 2000s case. I'm all for incorporating some of those, but it'd be nice to see some of the oldies again too. I agree with what you all have said, I'm glad they're mentioning Lilly's shooting again, and the context sounds interesting. I wonder if she loses it. Whether she does or not, yay! for another Lilly/Scotty roadtrip. So a killer in the realm of George, huh? I'm already getting creeped out. But definitely looking forward to this ep as well.

Ooooh this ep sounds awesome!
I'm dying for some Lilly drama and closure on the shooting. I hope they follow through with it and really get Lilly some closure so she can move on and find happiness.

anyone think there will be flashbacks to the George Marks case or even a possibility of this being related to Mind hunters? just a thought.

I don't think so. I just noticed that the creep in this episode sounds very much like dear old George.

Is the shooting cleared up in this episode or not? Not really. Creepy John starts asking personal questions during the course of the episode and Lilly admits that she hasn't been sleeping well and that she still has nightmares.

Maybe she'll mention her mother, we never heard of her after the shooting

I don't know if we'd get that lucky, LII, but it's a nice idea. I agree though, after that admission about the nightmares Scotty should do something! If he doesn't I'll have to reach into the TV and slap him (not).

Scotty? I can't spoil all the fun but let's just say he's not happy watching Lilly struggle to answer the creep...
