I'm not really going to start getting upset yet....at least that's what I'm telling myself.
I just don't understand why the show has such a habit of bringing these characters on, just to dump them after a few episodes.
GAH! oh well...guess I'll just wait and see....

I don't think he was ever supposed to be a regular cast member.
I agree, more than 4 would be nice. But like you said, let's wait and see what happens...

It sounds like an initial deal. This is pretty typical. Shows will sign an actor to an "initial set of episodes" with an option to pick up more. This is what happened with the the actor who portrayed the Defunct Detective debacle last season (except they decided not to take the "option"  ). All of this is to say, that it's entirely possible that he'll be back for X amount of more episodes later in the season. Right now, he's only signed for 4. I wouldn't get too worried about it, yet.  |

Yeah at least they are following up with 'Joseph', if he was just left in the dust, not knowing what had happened, I would have been so mad!

This is all good news ... TVFan says it best in that this is typical for shows introducing new characters/maybe want to keep them around. There are actors who, say, sign initially for three episodes of one season of a show, but then became a recurring character over the course of multiple seasons. Does not mean they are in every ep, but does not mean they disappear, either. All depends on the story arc. Glad they are indeed bringing Joseph back for more than just the season opener. We'll have to wait and see where they decide to go with the storyline. Not worries, yet. |

I'll take your very sensible advice TVFan and not panic yet. 4 episodes is good and it shows they aren't gonna drop this storyline. But I'm sure hoping he's gonna be around after that 4 episodes. I can't stand the thought of more possible heartbreak for Lilly. Not sure I could take that.  |

Kenny Johnson recently posted over at his message board the following: "...I did 5 episodes total ...THey want to see how people respond ....KJ"So, if I read that right, there is fifth episode with Joseph somewhere down the line (one more than the original four he signed for), and the ratings/response will ultimately determine the fate of the Joseph storyline.
