The Kite-thing was ok with me. It was the BREAKING UP part that the d**n fool managed to do that I did NOT like. Go and hurt Lilly and make her almost impossible for future guys to reach in to. I'm not loving Kite for that, no. (And I realise that's how the writers felt they had to do it, but IMO it would have been much better if they transferred him to a dept. in Alaska or whatever. ) I'm never forgiving him for what he did to our Lilly. *Grrrrr*

Well, it looks like we're divided into 2 camps here: the pro-mushers and the anti-mushers (maybe that's just you and I, DF?). :smile21:
irishkale, I too want KM to be able to show off her acting abilities (and I hope we get lots of that this season), but I guess I just saw her interaction with Kite too much of a departure from the Lilly personality that I love.
For instance, it bothers me that Lilly is still drooling over this MC dude and has this weird photo of the two of them on her nightstand. I know it's written like that, but I would have found it a little less disturbing had she placed a "normal" photo there (like the two of them arm in arm in front of his bike, with him smiling, too). We still would have gotten the picture. I don't know, that picture and Lilly's look just screamed she needs a little professional help, IMO.

I agree with you 100% irishkale. That scene in Disco Inferno and the trash can scene and that awesome scene on the roof of the parking deck in "Late Returns" are some of my favorite Lilly scenes. They were all different sides to her, and it made her so much more fascinating. I don't want things to get too mushy because that wouldn't completely fit her character, but a little mush is OK with me.

Thanks for your support irishkale for a moment there I was thinking it was just me [oh and Cutey Patooty] that don't mind seeing Lilly in a relationship!! I wouldn't say Lilly was drooling over the Motorcycle Man at all. Obviously the circustances of the case reminded her of him and she looked back through her old photo's. Is it just me that does that, cos I thought that's a normal kinda thing to do. I'll always have fond memories of my first love [sorry, I know that was corny!!] and I do occasionally look through my old photo's of us. Perhaps the relationship with him was such a positive element of her past which as far as we know is so full of hurt and pain, and that's why she still remembers him so fondly. I think the reason for the style of the photo was simply because they hadn't cast anyone to play him at that stage so had to find a way of keeping his face a mystery. I have to agree 100% with irishkale and TVFan that those Lilly and Kite scenes are some of my very favourite moments. The majority of the 3 seasons has been about Lilly at work [which is obviously the whole point of it], but seeing those moments where she shows a different side to herself really makes me relate to her character more. We see her as a not so perfect, sometimes bashfull and timid women not just a cool, confident detective. I also agree that it gives our very talented Kathryn more opportunity to show us just how great an actress she is. Sorry |'ve rambled enough!

I just didn't like the photo. And maybe I'm over-dramatizing this whole Lilly in a relationship thing and making it worse in my mind than it really was. I probably need to rewatch those scenes from first season. I guess I just miss the old Lilly and I'm overall not so crazy about her this season. I dunno...

Hey that's okay V, like I said we all think differently. I'm just a big time Lilly/Kathryn Ho and never think or say anything bad about them!! :smile92:

This was how I saw the scene as well sonny. I think she was just looking back fondly. I like your hypothesis here about Lil's life so full of pain, and perhaps, this Motorcycle Man was a ray of sunshine in her otherwise clouded over past. Again, I think this is dead on. I bet they had a central idea in their heads about how they wanted him to look, but no concrete actor to play the part, hence, the mysterious photo. I really couldn't agree more here. Bravo! :smile49: And as you pointed out in your more recent post, the varying viewpoints are very interesting. It's nice that we collectively reflect the differing opinions of CC's audience. I'm sure it gives the show a nice cross section of its audience.

I agree with everything you guys have said – I too loved the Kite relationship and the flirting and chemistry between these two characters. Just a thought I have been having and thought I would share with you all - maybe the side to Lily that we haven’t yet seen is Lily not as interested in her job. Remember when Scotty fell off the rails when he started seeing Chris and showed up late for work and hung over. The main reason Kite broke it off with Lily was because she was too involved in her work and had or made little time for him, always putting her work before him. Maybe she doesn’t want the same things to happen again?? That is if they do get back together which I think there has been no indication that they will or won’t. What really interests me about this spoiler (and I was quite thrilled when I read it) is how the writers are going to bring him back into her life after so many years. Will he be part of one of her investigations, does he seek her out, does she seek him out or bump into each other on the street?? How will they react to seeing each other as well which I assume will be determined by how it ended all those years ago. Also, in episode 11 (I think he was mentioned) she said he was a biker and a drinker – is he still the same now or did he really change and is a wealthy lawyer now or something completely different!? Sorry….I think I have rambled on enough!

This is intriguing me as well, BAM. I'm really glad you brought it up. To me, it would seem a little odd if she randomly bumped into him or if he seeked her out after she had just been thinking about him, but I guess it could work. The mention in "8 Years" was only slight, so I suppose it left a lot of possibilites open. I do hope that he has changed his ways since the last time Lilly saw him, and I would imagine that Lilly is a different person now as well. I honestly can't wait to see what unfolds between these two because it has a lot of awesome potential!

Yup can't wait to see what pans out here. Hope he doesn't first show up in the finale. Wouldn't that be a nail biter.

That would be a killer!!! I'm hoping it's pretty soon. InsideR said it would be soon so I'm hoping they've already perhaps filmed the ep with him in [*crosses fingers]. Perhaps we will meet him in episode 17 or something. You know the whole george issue is brought up in ep 16. Lilly needs someone to go to so she looks up her motorcycle man? :smile90: :smile90: :smile90: Oh.. who knows I just hope its soon. Mind you we have to wait for 4 weeks of repeats first!! :smile30:
