Very good point sonny. I'm very interested to see how it progresses with what Kathryn defines as a different side to Lilly. I would love to see a more happy side to her. Maybe we'll get to see it this time around. I really liked her goofy, off-kilter moments with Kite, so I'd also like to see more of that side as well. Backing into that trash can has to be one of my favorite moments ever! It's just such a real moment, and one where we get to see the not-so-together side of our dear Lil. I have to agree with you irishkale. I'm really glad Mike Ausiello stopped and talked to her because he never covers CC. I'm not really sure what to expect from this mysterious episode 16 (admittedly, I haven't been reading the thread on it here in Spoilers because contrary to my involvement in this thread, I usually stay away from spoilers. I just so happened to stumble across this info because I read his column every week faithfully). I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it's as good as Kathryn's spoiler makes it sound. I have faith in the show, though, so I can't wait! Too bad it probably won't air until March.  |

I'd like to see a much happier side to her too. She looks so great when she smiles she should do it more often ;D That backing into the trash can scene is probably one of my all time favourites to. I loved the way she was so giggly and girlish and the effect she had on Kite was just so sweet. He was totally absorbed in her and the kiss left him speechless for a moment!! So sweet. That 'different side to Lilly' is making me very curious. She has shown so many different sides already, the only thing left is surely a complete breakdown?  :smile10: |

Dunno about breakdowns SOnny but she certainly has shown lots of sides, being my favorite the one tripping by a trash can...certainly a great moment of hers!!!! Being a Kite fan as i am i cant help being a bit dissapointed but i keep hoping til the very last episode. This MG sounds quite interesting and handsome, he better be!!! |

I smell soap opera. I think I smell drama more than soap opera. I know DF you'd rather Lilly stayed a single gal! I don't mind her having a boyfriend and I know that we don't want her brain turning to mush but girls brains do kinda turn to mush when they are in love. She was kinda mushy with Kite - that door step scene where she invites him in to see the girls was kinda mushy and sweet. She remained tough and focused at work though which is a must. I think the writers are sensible enough not to make the mistakes so many other shows have by going a bit soap opera, but at the same time they should try to be realistic, and realistically, at least in my opinion, a beautiful gal like Lilly can't be singlr forever. I just hop MC guy is a positive experience for her, whatever his role in her klife is gonna be. We have to remember that Vera turned to mush over Megan, Scotty turned to mush over Christina and Stillman kinda turned to mush on seeing his ex. Why can't Lilly turn to mush with her MC Guy??? |

Why can't Lilly turn to mush with her MC Guy??? To me, that just doesn't fit her personality, sonny. I personally never liked how she acted when she was around Kite, but then again I didn't really care for Kite. Like DF, I wouldn't mind it if Lilly stayed single. However, if she does get involved with somebody (be it the MC guy or somebody else), I want her to stay true to her personality and not turn into some gushy-mushy love-sick puppy. I couldn't handle that. I would like for her to open up to somebody, but I would like for her to do that in a serious way. I want to feel some intensity. I dunno ... does that make any sense? |

I realize that it probably comes from the core of my bitter spinsterhood  , but I really hate mushiness, girls with their brains turned to mush really get on my nerves (incredibly enough, not GUYS with their brains turned to mush--how messed up is that?), I didn't like the Kite affair for precisely that reason, and I'm in no hurry for it to happen again. I find it VERY realistic that Lilly, gorgeous though she is, would choose to be single. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Not on TV though. Single women on TV must always for some reason either be sluts or losers. Lilly was neither, and it was one of the things I most enjoyed about Lilly. If this changes radically... I'm not sure I'm interested in the show anymore. |

This guy showing up might not even mean a relationship will develop and even if it did whose to say it will be a lasting one. I don't mind Lilly being single either but seeing her in a relationship I also find interesting as it will highlight new aspects of her personality. I'm totally not saying I want soap opera style but she can have a romantic and sweet relationship with it still being within character and not over the top. Just cos she's serious about work and about life at the moment doesn't mean she has to be like that with every single aspect of her life. I really don't mind seeing her huddled up to some guy on the couch with the cats there too [must be my romantic side influencing me here!]. I want Lilly to show she is human and not this tough, I'm gonna hide all my feelings as best I can kinda girl all the time. She's been through a tough time and she could do with some kind of release [not specifically romantic] so I'd like to see her relaxing and having a good time. I'm not on about full on "I love you so much"  kind of mush, but the kind we saw with Kite; the nervousness, the dancing, the flirting and most of all the smiling. I'm not sure I truly think it doesn't fit her personality because I haven't seen what she is like in love apart from what she has told us about taking off with a guy 2 weeks into knowing him and almost marrying him. Before we knew this, this was something we would never have imagined Lilly doing, but she thought she was in love and some people do crazy things when they are in love. Anyways I'm only hypothesising on what this different side to Lilly could be. As I said before she has already displayed so many sides [she's been angry, agressive, hurt, happy, suprised, disappointed] that there doesn't seem to be many sides left that can be different. I'm just sick of Scotty having all the fun and enjoyment of having someone to go home to when Lilly is all alone But then that's maybe just because I can't bare the thought of being all alone and that I like being in a relationship :smile10: |

Great Post, Sonny! I agree with you 1000%.
I LOVED the whole Kite thread precisely because it brought out a goofier side of Lilly, and also just as an actress, it allows KM a chance to show her other abilities. Lilly has been very one-dimensional since Season 1, almost deliberately so-- as if the writers got some kind of edict to make Lilly very stoic all the time.
Whether you liked Kite or not, you have to like the fact that his character pulled so many aspects out of Lilly. The one scene in "Disco Inferno" where Kite sings "Stayin Alive" and has Lilly cracking up is exactly what I want to see in her new relationship. Goofy, happy, even Mushy is OK with me!
