Meanwhile, Miami's fiercest gang seeks revenge on a rival gang member and opens fire at his mother's funeral. When the gang discovers that Horatio plans to find them and destroy their illegal smuggling operation, they put out a hit on Horatio. Also, Natalia Boa Vista (La Rue), a new CSI lab technician, creates conflict with a different government agenda from that of the team.

CSI: MIAMI is a fast-paced drama inspired by the top-rated series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" that follows a South Florida team of forensic investigators who use both cutting-edge scientific methods and old-fashioned police work to solve crimes. Horatio Caine, a former homicide detective, heads a group of investigators who work crimes amid the steamy tropical surroundings and cultural crossroads of Miami. His team includes Calleigh Duquesne, a bilingual Southern beauty with a specialty in ballistics, Eric Delko, an underwater recovery expert who knows all the twists and turns of the Florida waterways, Ryan Wolfe, who joined Horatio's unit last year and Natalia Boa Vista who's grant funding causes conflict in the lab. Rounding out the team is Alexx Woods, the no-nonsense know-it-all coroner. Helping Horatio with cases is Det. Frank Tripp, a tough, yet thorough police officer. Together, these investigators collect and analyze the evidence to solve the crimes and to avenge those who cannot speak for themselves, the victims.
CSI: MIAMI is produced by CBS Productions and Alliance Atlantis Communications, in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Productions. Jerry Bruckheimer, Ann Donahue, Carol Mendelsohn, Anthony Zuiker, Jonathan Littman, Danny Cannon are the Executive Producers.
