Ok i was supposed to put the analysis in here, (i think) hopefully i got it right this time!
Hubris:
So in the beginning, Lilly just wants Kite to get a search warrant for one of the suspect’s houses in the Holly Richardson case. So they are just walking, and Kite uses his own hunger as an excuse to ask Lilly out to dinner. Kite appears to not be as married to his work as Lilly is, as he leaves at 7:00. All Lilly has done up to this point is talk about her job, and strictly that, no personal information ever coming close to being let out. Lilly keeps on talking about her work apparently surprised at Kite’s offer. She doesn’t appear to know how to react to the invitation. Kite keeps at his hunger issue, and Lilly continues to use the Holly Richardson case as an excuse not to go to dinner. Kite finally presents Lilly with two options, she can either dine with him and he will talk all she wants about the case, or they will talk for 15 minutes between his appointments. Kite heads for the door, and Lilly acts like the offer was the silliest thing, like going out to dinner with him is the last thing she wants to do. But she goes in anyway, but with an attitude like it is against her better judgment. When they come out of the restaurant, however, she’s acting like she couldn’t have had a better time. Their talking about the case, something Lilly couldn’t have been more comfortable with. Lilly goes to walk back to the office, but Kite steers her the other way, which causes Lilly to be lost for words. Kite also tries to steer Lilly away from the work topic, and eventually comes right out and says (yeesh Lilly), “Why do we always talk about work?” Lilly goes with the obvious (“We work together”) But Kite has had enough with the work (who wouldn’t?) and asks Lilly to tell him something personal. Lilly replies with a “No”, more like a “Not if you paid me”. She says that she’s bad at it, implying that she’s done it before, but probably only once. When Kite tries to kiss her (the first time) Lilly looks panicked and backs away, as if she’s afraid of what might happen if she lets him in. She says that she has to go, but Lilly can’t take her attention off him, and she backs right into a trashcan. Kite makes sure that she has her balance, and tells her that he is going to kiss her. Lilly’s reaction is utter shock and total panic, like she’s still afraid of something. She replies with no, in a you have got to be kidding me way. Kite keeps reassuring her, telling her to stay calm and it will be fine. Lilly is so nervous, she starts laughing. (Like it’s a joke) But she looks at Kite and realizes that he’s not kidding. So they kiss (awww) Kite leaves, telling her to sit with her feelings for a while. Lilly’s face says it all: What just happened?
I reached these conclusions (doesn’t it sound almost like a science experiment?)
1.Lilly is insecure when it comes to love
2.Lilly previously had no social life with men (or maybe the experience was so bad that she wants to pretend it never happened)
3.Lilly is attached to her work
4.Kite has feelings for Lilly and wants to tell her
5.Kite is hot
6.Lilly is also hot (in the female role model kind of way for us girls, maybe just plain hot for the guys! Lol)
