Well I know Naj has been fed up with Scotty for a while now and I think I'm ready to join her after watching the first 2 episodes of the new season. I did not like how he interogated Quinn in such an aggresive way in 'Family' and I hated the way he sounded so cocky about the 'mistake' [Christina] he made a while back when trying to get "Josie chippy" to spill the beans about her past. Don't get me wrong he's great to look at but he's totally getting way to big for his boots and is completely stepping on Lilly's toes IMO. I'm just not liking it at all. The way I feel as this moment is lets keep "Josie chippy" and ditch Scotty!!
Arrrgggghhhh he's really annoyed me!!

Sonny, boy I would love to join in your rant, but I'm afraid I might never stop! Haha. Just kidding. But, really, all I've got to say is that I agree with everything that you said. I don't like him as much this season. His whole attitude has changed.

Hey! As a new viewer I love him. He's hot to look at... BUT I will agree about how he interviewed Quinn in The Family. I remember discussing it in the chat about how he was too aggressive with her, especially when she'd lost someone she loved all those years ago. It just came out of the blue. He had no right to treat her like that.
And his apology to Lily did seem kind of loose about Chris, and the fact that Lily just shook it off as no big deal raised my eyebrows, but then I'm still trying to figure out why we didn't get anything from Lily last night over George. I was for sure we'd see her freeze up or go into a daze thinking about George, but she didn't.
I'm giving things time to mesh. With the new character maybe they can't fit everything in in one show and will expand things over time. At least I hope.
So for now, just look at him and smile. Try not to think about the cockiness. He's a babe! LOL!

That's what I'm thinking and hoping really is that they are giving time to "Josie chippy" now so we can all get to know her then bringing Lilly right back to the forefront again a bit later to deal with her issues. As for Scotty I'd like him to fade into the background but i don't think thast's gonna happen what with his Elisa issues still there!!!  We know it's all gone pear shaped for lilly if she isn't the person they focus on just before the opening credits start. I've noticed for the great majority of episodes it is always a shot of Lilly right before they start. If that changes, well I know it sounds silly but i'll be mad: that's her special part!!!! [Sorry for more ranting, the wine hasn't helped!!!   ] |

Awww, Sonny. Don't take it so hard. I know Scotty's being annoying, but he was last year too, remember? He's probably put there to MAKE us be annoyed by him. Don't forget these people have faults, that's why we like 'em! Getting too cocky for his own good is a pretty usual happening when a too-young guy gets promoted. I see it all the time in my profession... *rolls eyes*

I have to agree, at least in the first 2 eps of the season. They're using more "physical" types of action to help break through in an interview, rather than the "cerebral" type of interrogation that Lilly uses. I just loved to watch her sort of weave a little psychological web for the suspect to fall into!
I guess Lilly's going to have to "evolve" with the show. :smile82: :smile40:

As I said before the start of the season, it is Scotty that I worry about when it comes to taking away from Lilly. I was worried last season when he got so much personal stuff, but then it seemed to shift to Lilly, and then it shifted back to Scotty because Lil's personal stuff involved Scotty. This is why I really enjoyed "The Woods." It was a deeply personal episode for Lilly. I got even more concerned when I saw the article about Danny Pino and Meredith Stiehm is quoted as saying that Danny is a great actor and they want to create more material for him. I'll argue that Kathryn is just as talented (if not more), so why not write more stuff for her? I don't want to make this a Lilly vs. Scotty thing because I do enjoy all the characters and want to learn more about each of them, but I'm a bit overloaded on Scotty.
I didn't notice that Scotty was a jerk in the interview with Quinn last week. I'll have to go back and watch it to see what you mean. But, I did notice the way he was quite cocky with "Josie chippy" when he was discussing his little "mistake." I was really happy that she saw through the whole thing and got in her car. And what was with his weird car comments? I didn't get that. My main beef with the character of Scotty, though, is the way they seem hell-bent on increasing his screentime, and in doing so, decreasing Lilly's. I watch this show for many reasons, but the main one is Lilly. I'm trying to be positive about the whole thing and watch how the season develops, so I guess I'll stop here before I end up eating my words. :smile41:

Couldn't agree more, TVFan. After watching The Promise, I don't find Scotty as annoying as I thought I would. BUT he still is taking screentime away from my darling Lilly, and this makes me resent him. Yes, much more than "Josie chippy". I don't resent "Josie chippy" at all. But it got on my nerves when it became all-Scotty all-the-time last year, and I don't want it to get like that again.

I'm a little concerned that it is gonna be all Scotty all the time!!! Even when lilly finally lets her emotions out they are bound to put Scotty in there somewhere!! I to am less resentful of "Josie chippy" for stealing screen time from Lilly than i am of Scotty.

maybe he made a mistake, but... He said "sorry" in The Woods!
I hope Lil can trust him and they'll be together very hppy ;D like Scully and Mulder ;D or Mac and Harm ;D
