Has anyone ever noticed that in "Best Friends" Jeffries says that he's 60, but then in "Strage Fruit" he's 54? He mentions that he was 12 when he found the body, but that was 42 years ago.

Was it?? :smile80: You sure? I should watch the ep again before arguing anything, but I remember doing the math at the time and it came out alright.
Then again, I'm not much of a maths person--so I could be very sadly mistaken. What year was the Strange Fruit incident?

I remember from "Strange Fruit" that he Jeffries was 12 in 1963 which would make him 54 now. But I remember thinking while watching this episode that in Season one, his age was referenced to as being near 60. I do not recall his age being mentioned in "Best Friends."

No, but a2z is right--Jeffries is supposed to be having his 60th birthday in Best Friends. Oh, man, can't the writers get their storylines straight?? That's the second age boo-boo they've made (the first one being Stillman's daughter; in season 1 she's mentioned as being 24 and suddenly, this season, she's 36).

Good evening everyone, Hey, this is the Byrdman coming at you tonight. I hope that everyone is doing well, and that you are all having a great week as well. I know I am!  I was actually thinking about this topic the other day, but I did not want to say anything about it. I figure that with the storyline and everything else going on with this show, a minor matter like a cast member's age is really insignificant, I think. Indeed, you can get too particular with errors sometimes. I mean, everyone makes them, no matter in what field they are in. Sorry, I just try not to be too critical on matters like this. I think this is a pretty good catch! Especially since the birthday references were such throwaway lines... They could have made it Vera's birthday instead and it wouldn't have affected the storyline much. Checking the tape... Veena wrote "Strange Fruit"... "Best Friends" was written by Liz Garcia. Both are great episodes... Maybe we should have them fight it out.  |
