Someone brought up the "Precious Doe" case in another thread....I actually saw that case on Cold Case Files and I started to wonder if maybe the Mind Hunters episodes were loosely based on this case? Because in the Precious Doe case, the girl was beheaded in the woods.
I wonder what all of you who are familiar with the case think?

I'm not familiar with this case but it does make me wonder if perhaps "Mind Hunters" was based partly on that case. I wonder how many cases that are used in Cold Case have been partly based on cases shown on Cold Case Files? I've only seen Cold Case Files once before so I'm not sure.

I've only seen it once, too--but I think several cases might be based on them because they "credit" them in the end.

I'm not sure if they did loosely base Mindhunter after "Precious Doe". I know that "Love Conqures Al" was loosely based off of a case that happened in Texas back during the early/mid 90s. Its scary how accurately the case could be portrayed on CC. I wonder if more of the cases on CC are "ripped from the (cold) headlines" like that?

hmmm. I'm not sure. I'll try and look up some of the episodes to see if they could have been based off of any of them. I will say that it is truely fascinating when you find similarities in cc episodes and actual cases.

okay. I just found a bunch of cc episodes that could have been based off of actual cases. You can go to www.tv.com/cold-case/show/16989/episode_guide.html to read more about them. so far,I'm seeing that in season 1, episodes 1, 3, 6, 14, 15, and 19 I have not looked at season 2 yet, but I'll get back to you guys when I can. |
