I think the other detectives seem to side with her because of the situation. Lilly asked Scotty not to see her sister. Whether or not she had a right to do this or whether it was a fair thing to ask doesn't matter because she asked him not to do it. Scotty should have respected her wishes even if he thought they were unfair. Instead, he went behind Lilly's back and lied to her about the situation. If he really wanted to see Christina, he should have gone to Lilly and talked to her about it. He went wrong when he decided to disregard Lilly's wishes and lie about it to her. I think the others see this more clearly than Scotty.
Just to clarify, I'm not saying that Lilly was little miss innocent in all of this because she definitely acted out of line when she found out. I understand her being upset with Scotty and not wanting to patch it up yet. She feels betrayed, and from the little information we know, Lilly has been betrayed a lot in her life (her mother, Christina, Patrick, etc).
Naj - The reason I'm thinking the impasse will last at least until the end of the season is because of Lilly's past history. She has been betrayed so many times that it has made her hard to get to know (ala Kite). It seems that once someone hurts her or betrays her, she shuts them out even more than she does the rest of the world. Scotty betrayed her, so I think it is going to take a while for her to forgive him. She'll be civil toward him, but I think that will be the extent of it. I could be wrong, though, since I haven't read a single spoiler.

There's a new two-part interview with KM up. The first part is about Mindhunters (the movie) and the second part is about the season finale.

Imagine Lilly with a gun with all of KM's training for the movie. heh, heh. Maybe we will see that in Season 3 or do you think even the finale? I liked KM's summation of Lilly for Season 2. She said the finale will be 'raw' and 'dangerous'. Can't wait till George meets up with 'his blonde'. ~Naj

Good evening everyone, Hey, this is the Byrdman coming to you with some news from the CBS site this evening. There is a new poll up on the site. It asks: "Does Lilly get too close to her cases?" The choices are no, yes or it's a tough call. I chose yes. Now, I saw "Lover's Lane" and "Blank Generation" the other day. Both were examples that had a suspect involved in her home life, and she frequently talks about cases in her free time as well. Now, you could also argue that all of these instances were beyond her control, but I said yes. Granted, this does not take anything away from the show at all, just my impression on the question. How does everyone else feel, and how did you vote on this? I will look forward to hearing from you all soon, and take care tonight, everyone!

Thanks for the notification Byrdman. I checked the cbs site already today, but I guess I didn't see it. Anyways, I voted for Yes. Lilly seems to invest everything she has into getting those cases solved.

Hey a2z, You're welcome, thanks for sending along a kind compliment! Yeah, I nearly missed it this morning myself, but I'm glad to hear I have someone backing me up as well (ha!). I think when I was looking at the results, the nos had 43%, and the yes' 32%. Take care, and have a great night, a2z!

Yeah, I'll be your back-up. I check the cbs site a lot (I don't know why considering it changes only once in a blue moon ). BTW, I doubt I'll have a good night. I have to write an essay on Lord of the Flies .

I voted No. The results are currently split evenly, 39% yes and 39% no with 21% tough call.
While I agree it appears that Lilly can get far too involved in certain cases, I think that is all part of being a Detective. I truly believe she knows exactly what she's doing and is in complete control of her vulnerability (for the most part) and know just how involved to get in any given case to produce the most positive outcome.

I chose "yes" because I feel that Lilly buries herself in her cases in order to avoid the emptiness in her personal life. She devotes so much of herself to her work because she has nothing else. She doesn't speak to her sister or mother, we haven't heard a mention of her father, she has no love life, and she appears to have very few friends. She doesn't like to get close to people, except the people involved with the cases she solves. I think her dedication to the work is part of the reason she has such a success rate, but I think it comes at the expense of her personal life.

I agree with TV Fan except for "it comes at the expense of her personal life". Not sure, but I think she invests more into her cases BECAUSE she has no personal life, more than the other way around. I don't think she's postponing her life on account of work; rather, she's using work as an excuse not to have time to get close to people, because she doesn't trust them. Considering her upbringing, can't really blame her for that.
I haven't voted on the actual poll yet, but when I do, my vote will be "yes", although I don't think she becomes too involved with all cases--just some. And it's one of the things I really like about her. When you work with people... it's just really hard not to get involved sometimes.
