Good evening everyone, I am brand new to this forum, but I am a Cold Case fan ever since I saw my first episode midway through the second season. I have been tuning in every week since. However, this has left me in a bit of a dilemma with the show's first season. I have heard so much about how great the first season was, and I want to see it for myself. I have gotten ten episodes through reruns, but no more, and I have been yearning to see the rest through repeats. I was curious if anyone (InsideR as well as anyone else) knew if there was to be any sort of Cold Case marathon anytime soon on CBS, or if there was a legal download site I could go to to legally get the season ones shows I have missed. I saw this morning that someone talked with Warner Brothers last night, and they said a season one dvd release date could not be announced. I just want to try to see those episodes that I have missed. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, take care this evening, and Lilly Rush ROCKS!

I don't know about anything coming up soon, but TNT will be airing the first season episodes on a weekly basis starting next fall according to the futon critic. That might be the first opportunity we get, unfortunately.

Thanks TVFan! That is great news! Thanks for sending that information along, and for doing the necessary research, it is appreciated. The only thing I am wary of is other networks picking up shows like this, and what they will do to them to fit them into the time allowed. I speak from experience. Back in the late 90s, I used to watch Dallas reruns on TNN (now Spike TV). I watched it for years on that network, and certainly enjoyed it. However, last year when seasons one and two of Dallas came out on dvd, I found little pieces of every episode that TNN had cut out in their airing! I know that this is an entirely different network and time, but I know that TNT shows several shows in syndication right now (X-Files, NYPD Blue, etc.), and I just hope that they do not cut them up the way Dallas was on TNN. In the meantime, I shall anxiously await Cold Case's premiere on TNT, and keep up the high hopes! Thanks again, TVFan!

I'm leary of that as well byrdman9802. I've only managed to catch one or two airings of Without A Trace on TNT (it currently airs once a week like CC will next season), so I'm not sure if they cut stuff out of that one. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
BTW, I too watched the Dallas reruns in the late 90s on TNN. I had never seen the show prior to the reruns and I haven't watched the DVDs, so I was unaware that stuff had been cut. Bummer! My fiance watches ER reruns on TNT and he's never mentioned any editing issues (he watched the original episodes as well). Hopefully, TNT is kinder to their shows than TNN. It's possible that dramas were longer back when Dallas originally aired (less commercial time) than they are today too, so maybe the current shows fit better in the cable channels alloted time. I hope so.

Hello and welcome to the board. :welcome: Since it will be quite awhile before we see Cold Case on DVD, I do recommend taping all the episodes that air as well as all the Season 1 episodes when syndication begins on TNT in the September.
As far as the cutting of episodes goes, it would be farily tricky to do with Cold Case as the begining and ending of each episode is crucial. I suppose parts in the middle could be trummed, which is entirely possible. Shows in syndication often have less time for a show to air than a network station due to advertising requirements, which is turn, pay for the shows to be on syndication. For example, Malcolm in the Middle began syndication this past September. That show has what's called a cold opener at the begining of every episode. They last anywhere from 2-4 minutes. When the show began in syndication, the time alloted for each episode fell to under 20 minutes without commercials as opposed to 22 minutes on the network. The cold openers were cut as that would bring the showtime to within the necessary time limit. It was disapointing to fans as the cold openers were often very funny but it worked as they often had little to do with the actual episode. The same cannot be said for Cold Case where all the elements to the show are needed for total understanding of each episode. Now if TNT is forced to cut any of the air time it won't be more than a few minutes but in my opinion, it will be noticable and not welcomed.

Hello TVFan and Ryebeach, Thank you for your nice welcomes, I can tell this will be a decent place to meet some new friends. First of all, I am still relying on CBS to hopefully show a string of first season shows. I am not sure how repeats work with the music and all, but I am holding out hope for this. Thank you both for your input on this. I am not sure how TNT handles this at all. Personally, I have only seen a couple of repeats of X-Files on there, and since I did not see those episodes originally on Fox, there is no way to tell. TVFan, I am glad to hear your fiance give that news about ER, hopefully the same will carry through for Cold Case as well. Ryebeach, thank you again for your welcome. Nice to meet you. I can agree that TNT hopefully will not be able to cut Cold Case, and I will not be able to verify at first if they do, so I may have to rely on you when syndication starts. Thanks! Oh, I wanted to share that I recently purchased an autographed picture of Kathryn Morris, and I received it through the mail today! What a beautiful girl! As soon as I can get a frame, it is going up on my wall. Just another Cold Case tidbit I thought I would share. Thanks again for your input here, and it was nice to meet you both. Have a great night!

Very nice to have that autographed pic. I've never done that kind of thing. Although I do have a Chakram prop from New Zealand off the set of Xena.

Hi Naj, Thanks for the comment. It is indeed nice to have. I put the picture up on my wall, and it will remain there for the forseeable future. Have you ever thought about getting an autograph from a star like Kathryn? Also, did you get that prop from New Zeland during the filming of Zena, or did you get it from an online auction? Just curious. I am very glad that I got that picture, a signed one with a very beautiful girl. Just my opinion, and have a great evening, Naj.
