Since we have a thread on here about things we DON'T want to see next season, I thought that I'd start one on things that we DO want to see during season 2 and beyond. Here's my list in no particular order: 1) More characters from Lilly's past . I don't want there to be a person every case (that would be a little silly), but every now and then. I really like the idea of a "mystery man" from her past coming to Lilly to get help solving a old case close to him. Maybe he could be someone she was close to in high school - someone familiar with her past. There's like a million different directions to take on this one. 2) More cases from before 1980. As much as I love reliving the 80s and 90s, it just seems these decades were used a lot last season. I'd like to see some more cases from the 70s, 60s, and beyond. 3) More insight into Lilly. I don't want them to change the bits and pieces method of giving us info, but I would like to learn more about her over the course of the season. 4) A new love interest for Lilly. This one would have to be done carefully though because I wouldn't want them to replay the Lilly/Kite romance minus Kite. It would have to be a totally different type of relationship. 5) I might be in the minority here, but I would like to see one or two cases that aren't solved despite the team's hard efforts. I think it would add to the realism of the show. Plus, it can be a real heartbreak for them to have to deal with not solving it. The characters get very attached to these cases and victims families. It would be interesting to see how a family would respond to the case not being solved a second time. Could make for some powerful episodes. 6) Finally, I would like to see a case that Lilly worked on get re-opened. I think this could add some interesting character dynamics to the show. What would you guys like to see?

OHHH!!! How creative you are. That would be interesting if they had to reopen a case Lily solved.
And a case they just can't solve. That would shock the audience.
* I'm still going to go with Lily having to use her gun to kill someone. And also whether she has had to kill someone before.
* An episode where a case does get to Lily because it does parallel something about her past that she hasn't quite conquered herself.
* Their version of some high profile cases like Jon Benet Ramsey and OJ Simpson.

Oooh Naj, I like the idea of a case paralleling Lilly's past. That would be very interesting. I agree about the gun part too. Yet another thing that I liked about "Glued" (I think that I've stopped counting at this point) was the scene where Lilly and Co raided the "drug house" and Lilly had to use some real police force (gun included). It would be really interesting to see how she would react if she had to actually use the gun. I remember her saying something in "The Plan" about how she has never killed anyone.

TV Fan, you made an almost perfect wish list!!!
Here's mine: (I'm taking your list as a starting point)
1) Going a little bit further in your suggestion #1, I would like to see an episode in which Lilly's ex-husband comes back. Maybe he would come to try to get her back, or threaten her. I wonder if Lilly would be scared with his presence, and let us know more about her fears.
2) About your suggestion #3, I would like Lilly to share WHY she choose to become a cop (I suppose she didn't begin her career as a detective. I'm not sure how these things work). Did she always know she wanted that? Did she have someone who was a role model to her, and was a cop? Did she have another job? I know there are a lot of questions regarding this subject, but I think they all could be answered in the episode where they can't solve the case - Lilly would be devastated, angry, feeling like she was a failure, etc, and then... she would remember why she became a cop. (ohhh ... that episode would be so great...)
3) About suggestion #4 - I want a new relationship for Lilly too, but one that lasts longer. I would say at least 3 years/seasons. I think it would be interesting if she dated another detective (but NOT Scotty!).
Also, I want to see an episode that involves some event from Lilly's past, with Lilly being one of the witnesses. I'd love to see a flashback of a younger Lilly - somewhere between 15-20 years old.

I know its not very original, but i like all of your suggestions for what it would be nice to see next season. I would love to see a case that Lilly cant solve. not one like the one with the feamle campaigner, cant remember the title, where they thought they couldnt solve it but scotty figured it out. id also like to see lilly use her gun, ive seen a lot of cases where it impacts the character a lot when they have to shoot a suspect. id also like to see a love interest for lilly, one that hopefuly lasts a little longer. and someone who doesnt mind it when lilly gets involved with her work! after all the show is cold case, not the lilly and kite show or anything...

I would love to see: 1) Something VERY close to Lilly's past 2) Her ex-husband 3) Lilly using a gun (Maybe to kill someone ) 4) Something where she is VERY emotionally involved (NOT like #1...maybe a case where she has to interveiw Kite? As suspect? ) 5) A case she just. can't. solve. 6) Finally, I wanna know what she wanted when she was fifteen....

These are all very good. I'd like her to get too involved with one of her suspects but I don't know how you could do all that in one episode with the current format they have. I wonder if they will have any two parter's next season. ~Naj

Wow! I want to see all of these things next season. Ebron - I couldn't agree more about finding out what Lilly wanted when she was 15. I'm dying to know.

Going what on ebron said, i cant wait either to hopefully find out what she wanted when she was 15. maybe she never planned on being a cop/ detective? * i think someone may have mentioned this..* im sure once season 2 starts, we'll have so many more questions and things we want to see. and going on what naj said, do you think they would be up to writing a two parter? those work very well with these kind of shows * im talking about cop/drama kind of shows* and it would be interesting to see what they would use as the kind of hook at the end...

The two parter idea would be very interesting. The possibility raises a lot of questions. I wonder if they did decide to do this, would they have a new format at the end of the first part? Or would they still play music? How would that work if they did play the music? Also, how would they start the second part? They wouldn't be able to start off with a flashback like they usually do. It would be very interesting to see how the writers etc dealt with the logistical aspects of having a set format work for a two parter. I would be very interested to see an episode like this.

1: more insgith into Lily and Scotty's pasts. It doesn't have to be much, but, it would help us to get to know them abit more 2: A two parter 3: I'd like to see how Lily would respond to working with another female detective (for just one episode though as it would spoil the series) 4: I'd like to see Justin Chambers come back for one episode as he didn't really get a proper ending and it would nice to see how Scotty and Chris would interact over Lily 5: Another relationship for Lily, but, not too prominent 6: Maybe see some of her family 7: For Scotty and Lily's partnership to become deeper and stronger

I'd like some new clips of Lily in the opening song. The current ones seems to be heavy on the pilot shots. I know many like the rain soaked Lily :faint: but I'd like them to slip one or two others in there somewhere.

I agree Naj. They definitely need to update the Lilly shots now that they have an entire season to use. (just wanted to use that smiley b/c it cracks me up!!)

Oh my, I'm spinning. Well these are good writers, I'm sure they can come up with something unique. I, too, would like to know how Lily decided to become involved in police work---to whoever said that in this thread. Has anyone noticed in the reruns commercial spots that they are now showing Danny along with Kathryn? I wonder what this means~Naj

Naj - I haven't noticed, but then again I'm not sure that I've seen any rerun ads. Interesting. I wonder if it's just CBS being CBS and not realizing that the show is more of a female lead and less of an ensemble cast type of show. You never know with them.

Last friday I watched the Pilot episode for the first time. First Lilly says that no one ever proposed to her, and then later she says her ex-husband was a mean drunk... it means one of those times she was lying... This made me wish another thing for Season 2: to know something for sure about Lilly's past.
I had wondered before if Lilly always tells the truth in her "personal moments" with the witnesses, and I understand sometimes she might have to lie, but in this episode I was really bothered by that.
So... I want anything about Lilly's past. But something that's true.

I love Lily and KM is marvellous to watch. I love the fact that the series is about a strong female role model in a man's world who for once - unlike other females from other shows - is extremely likeable, but, to me Scotty is a much a part of the show as Lily is. They make a strong partnership and he has proved time and time again how great a character and actor he is and can hold his own against the amazing Kathryn so I think that Danny very much deserves to be shown abit more in publicity as he is a big part of the show.

But in the course of talking to victims---I'm sure she bends the truth but I thought I was able to distinguish between the two. I don't have the pilot taped. And I am hoping they do run it this summer so I don't remember her personal life comments. It took me about half a dozen eps before it hit me I need to start paying attention about her personal life. :hammer: ~Naj
