Maybe it's the writers' favourite colour?

It's interesting because CC is a very visually blue show. Between the cold weather and the cold cases, it always seems appropriate. Plus, it sets the show's more somber tone. Interesting that they are now naming episodes with it as well.

I can't locate the interview, but one of the writers did specifically refer to the audience in political terms of "Red State" and "Blue State". This was just a casual reference that the show is capturing viewers with both "Liberal" and "Conservative" values; something very desireable because it helps keep the ratings high.

Hi boxman,
yes the early reference by the detectives about making the road tirp fleshed out the meaning. Tennesse - Red State; Pennsylvania - Blue State.
I didn't recognize any of the Tim McGraw songs. I probably only know two songs from him.
so this is the fourth ep with a featured artist. I wonder why they have not selected a female artist?

I love the music in this episode. (It screened here last night).

Re to the theme blue; didn't they have to repaint the entire set blue so kathryn morris wouldn't blend into the background (wasn't it white to start with?)
