I gave this one a good. I really liked the ending song "Scarlet Rose." I'm in the process of tracking down the info for that song, and I'll post it as soon as I get something.

I have the info for "Scarlet Rose." Here it is lifted directly from my blog, Pass the Remote: *COLD CASE FANS!!! As promised, I have the information straight from the source on the ending song from this week's episode of the hit crime drama. According to my contact at Warner Bros. Television, the song, "Scarlet Rose," is an original piece written and recorded for Cold Case. The episode's writer, Gary Whitney Harris, and the show's composer, Michael Levine, wrote the lyrics and Gary Haase wrote the music. Levine also composed last season's original song "300 Flowers." New York studio musicians performed the piece with Alexa handling the vocals. This is the second time that the series has used an original work as a closing song. Last season's "Beautiful Little Fool" featured the original song "300 Flowers."

I have to say that I like "Scarlet Rose" more than "300 Flowers". I have to say, I'm noticing a pattern with them naming their songs about flowers. Hmm...
Ironically flowers symbolize immortality; life, death, and rebirth amongst other things.

As for the soundtrack I enjoyed it. I was glad they didn't use any "cheesy" oldie songs. I'm talking about songs like..
"I love, I love said the little blue man."
Also that night I learned just how timeless music really is when I went to bed and put in a CD in my radio. As it hit the second song, I thought "Wow, this song has the same aesthetics as the songs on tonight's episode."
But yes, definately enjoyed it.

We have some discussion about flowers and characters with flower-names in "Beautiful Little Fool" here. Using flower names for female characters is a recurring theme in the show--such as Rose in season two's "Best Friends", Mayflower in "8 Years", and of course, Lilly Rush. In this episode, it's Jennifer Rosemary Hawkins...as revealed after the dance when the two met at the piano, and Jenny told her about the memory she had of her dad. According to Wikipedia, "Rosemary is often commonly associated with memory and/or remembrance of the past." Quite an appropriate middle name, huh?? There are a *lot* of nifty little details such as this in the episode, which is why I call it TIGHT!!

Perhaps it doesn't really count as soundtrack but what about the tune that Scotty and his brother whistled? I think it was Our House by English Ska band Madness - details
