Stop by Sunday, September 24 and let us know what you think about the soundtrack.
We will open this thread after the episode airs.
Be the first to post all the songs for the episode here also. Who will get the most right?

This ep was light on the songs but I really enjoyed the underscore. Very much. ;D

For some strange reason, I almost felt that very song at the end coming on. It was ringing in my mind before it started. As far as the episode goes, I'll not say anything now. I need time to collect my thoughts because even though I know the 'story' was fiction, the facts of it hit too close to home, literally. I may post an explanation later. It might be lengthy. Although there might not have been a tear trickle from my eye, there were surely tears in my heart.

Nice to have you qped! Yes, please post what you think about the episode in the "episode" forum. There is a thread stickied there. The one thing about Cold Case is that it makes it real. That ending song was a big hit. I can't remember who sings it, though. For some strange reason, I almost felt that very song at the end coming on. It was ringing in my mind before it started. The music from this episode is what I suspected it would be. A lot of alternative rock for the actual lyrical songs, and an underlining score of ambient. I loved the music, and the end song succeeded in making me cry.
Songs that were in the episode that I'm sure of.
"What if God was One of Us?" - Joanne Osbourne
"Bullet with a Butterfly Wing" - Smashing Pumpkins
"Hey Man, Nice Shot" - Filter
Does anyone know the name of the beginning song, and the song playing during the "revelation"? The beginning song sounded like something by the band Neurosis, and it looked like one of the shooters was wearing a Neurosis T-Shirt. (of course I'm not entirely sure about this)
Err, but yeah. Neurosis lyrical themes - "Devastation, evolution through pain and chaos." (metal-archives.com)

Not to forget Bush's "Glycerine" - LOVE this song. Was one of the ones I hoped they'd use one day ... and they did! Also, I was glad, in certain parts of the ep, they went with regular underscore as opposed to songs. It seemed more appropriate given some of the heavier scenes in the ep.

I'm in the minority, but for me, the soundtrack was just OK. I'm not a grudge rock fan, so there wasn't much there for me (I do like Bush's "Glycerine" though). The ending song was never a fave of mine, but then Joan of Arcadia used it as its theme song, so I warmed up to it. Now, whenever I hear it (including last night), I feel like I should be watching the opening credits of JOA. In other words, I wasn't a fan of this show using it as the closing song. I was envisioning Collective Soul's "The World I Know," but that might be because I've been dying for them to use that song. I did, however, love the use of the soundtrack in a lot of scenes.

Speaking of the ending song, I was thinking about some other songs that would have gone well, and then I remembered the song "Monday Morning Apocalypse" by Evergrey that would have been perfect. Unfortunately it was written in 2006, but here's the lyrics anyways.
How long have you held me in this water? Much too long since my body is numb How long have I been here and where am I? (Where am I?) And why are my hands tied? How long have I been your little altar, your little toy, and sacrifice? How long have you kept me in this water? In a world, where you are god And we are all your servants
We are....
If I had known how to get out of solitude I would have done it all to help you If we had known about the pain we caused you We would have stopped just to save you
How far did it go to get it over Much too far and we all must've been blind It was an ordinary morning, monday morning just before nine
And you are all my servants, the guilt is yours - not mine
If I had known how to get out of solitude I would have done it all to help you If we had known about the pain we caused you We would have stopped just to save you
And you are all my servants, and you will all oblige And this will teach you lesson, the guilt is yours - not mine
If I had known how to get out of solitude I would have done it all to help you If we had known about the pain we caused you We would have stopped just to save you
If I had known how to get out of solitude I would have done it all to help you And if I had known about the pain we caused you I would have saved you
Here's some other songs I think would have made good ending songs, (all from 1995)
Alice in Chains - "Heaven Beside You"
Collective Soul - "World I Know" (I have to agree with TVFan on this one.)

Hey TVFan,
I guess my vote was actually for the underscore. Unless I've learned to block the music out I don't think the first actual song played until the 23 minute mark.

Quick Question.
I'm totally new to the site becuase I'm looking for some info that has yet to be posted.
There was a song that was played on the episode, which is not on the music list. I think it was being played when lilly was with her new boyfriend but I can't remember to save my life. It was definately a woman singing and it wasn't joan osborne.
Anyone remember by any chance?

Naj - When they showed the video at the beginning they were playing what sounded like a dark ambient underscore.

The first didn't have music, the second was during the final montage...

Love it. Must have been one of Michael Levine's creations. Naj - When they showed the video at the beginning they were playing what sounded like a dark ambient underscore.
