WOW Naj, that's a lot of picks but I agree that list was tough to narrow down. There were some great songs that year.

WOW Naj, that's a lot of picks but I agree that list was tough to narrow down. There were some great songs that year. It all depends on which direction the storyline goes-so it's tough to pick. They've done Belinda Carlisle before so they might choose "heaven is a place on earth'. I could see them doing 'heart and soul by T'Pau, "Someday" by Glass Tiger, Definitely "Mandolin Rain" as the closing song by Bruce Hornsby. Actually I'm going to hold myself to "Mandolin Rain" being the closing song....Anyone care to venture a guess on the closing song? :bananna:

Anyone care to venture a guess on the closing song? I think the closing song could well be "Mandolin Rain." My other guess would be "The Finer Things." The lyrics kind of go with the passage of time which this episode appears to deal with significantly.

Higher Love by Steve Winwood.
Was Smokey Robinson one? I would do anything?
It was tricky tonight because the timeline jumped all around.
Closing song - Man in the Mirror.
I'm surprised they played Michael Jackson but it's fitting.

Closing song - Man in the Mirror. I'm surprised they played Michael Jackson but it's fitting. ~Naj I was surprised by this choice also Naj but you're right, it was fitting. Besides "Higher Love," the other songs were: Smokey Robinson - "Just to see her" Everlast - "What it's Like" This was not a music heavy episode and I had hoped it would be.

Yea, they seemed to have cut down on the number of songs per episode this year. Could be a problem with getting the rights for each week or their polls indicated less music or a producer decision, etc.
Interesting timing with the Michael Jackson case coming up with the jury selection beginning.

Could be a problem with getting the rights for each week or their polls indicated less music or a producer decision, etc. I'm sure it's a combination of all of those. During the first season I would often hear critics say that Cold Case seemed like one really long music video and they wished the music would be cut out. I totally disagreed with them then but I have a feeling the producers or the network may have listened to them, which is too bad. IMO, the music puts each case into perspective and gives it heart.

The song playing during the maid scene is an Alice in Chains song "Man in the Box".

Interesting Ryebeach. Guess you and I are at different ends of the spectrum on this one. I felt the same way as the producers. I found it really distracting with all the music. More like some of those WB shows. I think what they've done this year is good and they still do their mini video at the end.
