There have been so many great songs used this season on Cold Case. What was your favorite? I really liked "I Believe" by Blessed Union of Souls that they played at the end of "Hitchhiker" because the lyrics really matched the storyline well and it's a really moving song. I thought that "Follow You, Follow Me" by Genesis that was used in the closing scenes of "Glued" was really good too. In fact, "Glued" gets my vote for episode with the best soundtrack. "The End of the Innocence" by Bruce Hornsby/Don Henley was very appropiate at the end of "Sherry Darlin'" too. But, my overall favorite was "Heaven" by DJ Sammy featuring Yanou at the end of "Fly Away." I just thought it was sooo moving and haunting. It really closed the episode well. I thought it worked better than if they had had dialogue instead.

The principal reason I have kept my copy of "The Letter" was for Ella Fitzgerald's "Blue Moon" and "Stars Fell on Alabama". Surprisingly (for me), I rank Ricky Nelson's "Sweeter Than You" in "Boy in a Box" as affecting a musical performance.

I have to agree with both of you, there were so many good songs. My personal favourite was the closing song to "A Time to Hate".........There is a Season (Turn, Turn).
Remarkable choice.

I don't remember which episode this was but I liked "Heros" not by David Bowie (which is the version I like best since it is the original) but I guess it was by the "Wallflowers" even tho I think they did a great job as well in the remake during the 90's

I just saw that one the other night Naj. Was it "Our Boy is Back"? I really liked it as well.

I loved Boy in the Box and all the songs used in this episode were great! But I loved 'Sweeter Than You' by Ricky Nelson and 'Catching a Falling Star' by AC (which I had before seeing the episode-it's great) and 'Hands' by Jewel. They are my favorites so far

I have to say that my all time favorite song was "Heaven" by DJ Sammy. It was the perfect ending to 'fly away', sad, haunting song for an emotional episode, esp. for lilly. *ok, so maybe my eye watered a little...* I have to say the slower version brings on a whole different meaning than the dance version.
and, i also liked 'Eternal Flame' although it the time, i remembered what episode it was in...

I agree on both counts, trublu. "Heaven" really chews one up at the close of "Fly Away," in concert with Laura Regan's finely calibrated and slowly dawning awareness of tragedy. (For which she cops my own personal Emmy.) The Bangles' "Eternal Flame" is similarly effective in "Maternal Instincts" (episode 21). I also love Aimee Mann's "Wise Up" during the finale of "The Plan."

I agree, Kayryn, the CC theme is awesome! I listen to it all the time too. My mom always comes and asks "can't you get enough of this series?" (obviously, I can't ) My other favorites are: (not in this order) "Heaven" (Fly Away) "Eternal Flame" (Maternal Instincts) "Follow You, Follow Me" (Glued) "Get Together" (Volunteers) It's really tough to choose. I like all the songs. (really)

My two favorites are:
"Follow you, follow me" by Genesis (Glued)The lyrics went right along with the closing scenes. Some of the episodes closing songs don't. "End of the innocence" by Don Henley (Sherry Darlin')Fit nicely with how James really lost his innocence when he was with Sherry.
I have liked "End of the Innocence" ever since it was used in "Inventing the Abbots" back in 1997. Perfect song for that sad but great movie.

I love the theme too. I'm always playing it and I turn the volume right up. My mom likes it too so she doesnt really mind lol
my favourite closing song for me would have to be "Heaven" by DJ Sammy. I like Bryan Adams version but I love this one. The ep was so sad for me on a personal level and that song just strikes a chord with me, everytime I hear it, or see the ep. So that would be my fave.

I have to say that my favorite song used was Nirvana's "Come As You Are" for the end of episode 5x01 Thrill Kill.
I'm actually not a huge fan of Nirvana. I can easily take them or leave them. But the song just fit perfectly with the episode, and the entire theme of the episode.

For me, It's hard to choose.. but Definitely I like these closing songs cause it matches perfectly with the case.
Fly Away "Heaven" / Boy in the Box "Sweeter than you" (season 1) Sleepover "Circle of friends" / Daniela "Goodbye Girl" / Revenge "Don't Go Away" (season 2) The Promise "Fallen" / Bad Night "Dream On" / A perfect Day "Catch the Wind" (season 3) The Good Death "Good Day" / Forever Blue "My back Pages" / The Goodbye room "You're my sunshine" (season 4) The Road "Come home" / It takes a Village "You're gonna make it" (season 5) Triple Threat "True Colors" / True calling "Half A World Away" (season 6) IMO.

I love the music. I think it can make or break an episode. There are some really good episodes that are let down by a bad ending song, and some mediocre episodes that I like simply because of the music.
For best music, I think I will have to go with Greed- awesome eighties music!
Good ending songs for otherwise meh episodes: Breaking News (Season 6)- Shout Stealing Home (Season 6)- Viva Las Simple
I think nearly all the episodes seasons one to four had perfect ending music for their stories. In season five they seemed to lose their magic touch- some episodes were fantastic (You're going to make it- It takes a village) and others were bland (One Republic- Apologise)
