Thanks LK. If you say so But if it turns out I don't like it I'm coming looking for you ;D Yes, I will take full responsibility if this show ends up being a not-so-favorite for you. I will use the ol' Abe Lincoln saying: We can't please all the people all the time. I can already feel the pressure.

This show also just started airing in Canada, and I have to say I'm intrigued. Tonight we're getting the third episode. It seems like every episode I end up with more questions about what's going on, and more of a desire to watch the next ep for answers to those questions. I know we're not very far in yet, but I can already see that they're dropping each piece of the puzzle very carefully, and in just the right spots. It's nice to see a show like this, it's very different from what's out there these days.

That's great that you've got some interest in this show, scillylove. It's really quite good. The only thing I'd say is that you have to watch it from start to finish. If you miss an ep (or two), it becomes harder to follow along given the way they slowly reveal key details of the past/present. I had a friend who started watching, then stopped, then tried to restart but she couldn't get back into the whole thing because she had missed out on too much. LOL!

Dredging this thread up from where it's been hiding, hope too many people don't mind... but I finally got caught up with this series (yayDVDs!), and I just totally loved every last psychotic second of it.
Odd thing, for me, is... as much as I worship Glenn Close and all things related to Glenn Close (and holy frell but she absolutely deserved that Golden Globe)... the real stand-out in the whole thing for me was our John Doe, Zeljko Ivanek. A truly powerful (and deeply sympathetic) performance, IMHO.

Thanks for the reminder Collider, I meant to come back to this one after the series ended in the UK. I must say I did enjoy it, although I did get somewhat lost as to who was on who's side etc. It got quite complex and I am still not sure what happened in parts. You got lucky LK

Yea Collider! Glad to have another Damages fan in the mix. Such a great show. I am definitely looking forward to the second season. Since you are a Glenn Close fan (and of course, who isn't - she is fantastic), I covered the show for Pass the Remote and had the chance to speak with her about her role as Patty Hewes as the first season came to a close: Glenn Close interview at Pass the Remote. We also talked with Tate Donovan and Peter Facinelli. Lots of good stuff should be on tap for Season 2!
@ RichE: Ah, so I escaped, did I? Or is it that I have good taste in shows? Probably more the former, not the latter.

Thanks for sharing that, LillyKat! Awesome, awesome interviews - especially the one with Ms. Close! you'll have to excuse me for a moment while I turn green with envy. Particularly loved her insights into the difference between film and television, 'cause it's so very true; I've never been much of a movie-watcher, and yet I utterly adore television... so she's spot-on about opening up to different kinds of audiences. And, just, yea. EEEEEGLENNCLOSE.
Sorry, I'm done. And, yep, it's a wonderful show; it had me guessing nonstop from beginning to end, and my brain is STILL ticking over certain things and no doubt will be for... well, at least until September wherein new episodes of CC will hopefully take my mind off it. Absolutely cannot wait for the second season, even though - no doubt - we won't get it over here until a year after everyone else.

Oh I had left this thread for a long time and pass the remote to avoid spoilers, but the French TV scheduled this wonderful show, best pick of the year. So brilliant, as all the casting. LillyKat, Wow really awesome interview. A second privilege for you after Kathryn, thanks for sharing.

It was really an honor to be able to speak with Glenn, and she had so much to share ... it was like one didn't want the interview to end! I found all the Damages folks to be very passionate about the show - they really love the premise, the characters they play, the challenge of the "not knowing" what's coming next ... was great to hear such enthusiasm given we, as viewers, totally reap the benefits of that passion and dedication. Awesome stuff! Don't know if you've checked out either Damages Official Web site or the "fictional" Hewes and Associates web site, but new eps will be made available for viewing online via iTunes (in case you don't want to wait to watch Season 2 on DVD. ) Oh I had left this thread for a long time and pass the remote to avoid spoilers, but the French TV scheduled this wonderful show, best pick of the year. As always, a pleasure to bring interviews to you - thanks for being a faithful PTR reader!

I also forgot to come in here after we wrapped up the first season here in Canada. Loved it. Can't wait to see where it goes next.
There is one theory I'd like to bounce off you guys. It's a little soap-operaish, but here it goes: At the end of the first season we discovered that Patty had a daughter that died. So that got me thinking. What could possibly be the significance of that? Then when I saw Ellen at the end, the way she had become just like Patty, manipulative and all that, I wondered: Could she maybe be Julia?
Is that stupid? Or is it the obvious theory that everyone holds?
Btw, when are we getting season 2?

Or is it the obvious theory that everyone holds? I definitely wouldn't call it stupid, given the show's tendency to make its audience second-guess everything... but it's certainly not among my theories, I'm afraid. Having trouble seeing how Ellen could be Patty's daughter when A) we were shown flashbacks of her death, and B) we were shown, in the present, her grave. If they'd left it oblique, I could most definitely see it as a possibility... but, given the evidence - if you'll forgive the expression - it doesn't seem too likely, at least not to me. Then again, I suck at second-guessing anything, so it could be that I'm the one following the stupid line of reasoning.
