Stars Glenn Close as a high-powered New York City attorney who goes after the bad guys but is a bit devilish herself. Amazing show. Wow ... I'm totally hooked. Glenn Close is just captivating as Patty Hewes. Then again, she is Glenn Close. LOL! There are so many twists and turns. Ted Danson is playing the "bad guy" (as it were). Equally as good. Also, CC's John Doe (Zeljko Ivanek) from S3's "One Night" is Ted Danson's attorney. Anyone else tuning in?

For anyone interested, I have begun recapping this show over at Pass the Remote. This week's ep was quite good ... can't believe what Patty decided to do about her son. Totally took me by surprise. And also, poor Ellen ... falling for yet another one of Patty's manipulations. It's almost like you want to yell, "No! Ellen, she's tricking you again!" LOL! We seem to be getting a bit more from the "present day" scenes (which actually play more like a flashback), with Ellen at the police precinct, etc. I so want to know what the heck happened to her ... Really love this show.

An article I found in the British The Guardian newspaper briefly covering The Closer, Saving Grace and Damages. I'm guess that the writer, Jonathan Bernstein, is American but this is aimed at a British audience. Luckily there's a version on the web to save me typing it out. HERE(I'll post this in the thread for each show)

As an FYI ... FX is going to run a Damages marathon on Monday, September 3rd. So anyone who would like to catch up on the series can do so. This show continues to roll right along for me. Enjoyed this week's ep (as usual). We seem to be getting closer to how in the world young lawyer Ellen ends up in the police station all bloodied and bruised (which we currently see as "flashbacks" even though that is present day). Every week, I keep asking myself, "So, what happened to this girl?!?!?!" LOL! More thoughts are over at Pass The Remote.

Thought I'd bump this thread up ... things are getting so, so good on this show. I keep wanting to get to the finale to see how it all turns out, but there are still a handful of episodes left BEFORE we get there. LOL! For anyone still interested, I'm still reviewing this for Pass the Remote (though I confess it's getting harder and harder to keep track of all the twists and turns - so darn good!)

So we're actually getting this show in Australia and I watched the first few, then missed a few then lost the thread of the plot. I might just wait til it gets to dvd and I can watch it all at once. And the Ellen actress, Rose Byrne, is an Aussie actress... She did this brilliant aus movie called two hands with Heath Ledger before they both went international. Hilarious.

Then been watching it from then on basically except I can't watch the first half an hour because they changed the day so it clashes with summer heights high. So I never figured that out. damages is the sh1t

@ jambled: That's great Damages is in Aus! Definitely wait for DVD (or catch up online). It's nearly impossible to try and figure out the show without having started at the beginning ... it's a pretty intricate storyline (with lots of tangents). I've been watching since the premiere, and I still get confused - LOL! It's a great show, though, and Rose Byrne holds her own opposite Glenn Close. @ 00bomber: Glad you are enjoying it, too!

I'm kinda sad though.....I think the show "Dirt" is over since "Damages" did much better than it...but "Dirt" managed to get the same amount of viewers as FX's veteran shows: Nip/Tuck and Rescue Me.

Good news (albeit I am way late on posting this here), but Damages has been renewed for 26 more episodes: From the Hollywood ReporterNov. 12, 2007 'Damages' inflicted on FXCabler has record 6 dramas going By Kimberly Nordyke FX is bringing back "Damages," and how. The cable network has ordered two more seasons -- or 26 episodes -- of the drama series from KZK Prods., Sony Pictures Television and FX Prods. Stars Glenn Close, Rose Byrne and Tate Donovan are signed on as series regulars for both seasons. "Damages" wrapped its first season Oct. 23, averaging a multi-telecast weekly cume of 5.1 million total viewers and 2.5 million adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. On a first-run basis, the series averaged 2.5 million total viewers, including 1.1 million in the demo, per episode. Season 2 is targeted to enter production in New York early next year, pending a lengthy writers strike. FX noted that the "Damages" pickup -- along with "The Shield," "Nip/Tuck," "Rescue Me," "Dirt" and "The Riches" -- makes for a total of six concurrent drama series, the most ever for a cable network in that genre. FX president and GM John Landgraf praised the show's creators/executive producers -- Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman -- and the cast for a "beautifully written, beautifully acted show." He added that it's the first time the network has ordered multiple seasons of a show at one time and noted the benefit of FX being a co-producer on "Damages" with SPT. "There also was a good amount of support in the international marketplace, which is very bullish on the show," Landgraf said. "When we looked at the economics of it, it just worked out really well that we were able to make a commitment to two seasons.". SPT co-president of programming and production Zack Van Amburg agreed. "This group has mastered the art of storytelling with a show that continually raises the bar with each and every episode," he said. SPT co-president Jamie Erlicht added that "FX has continually shown enormous support for both this show and for Sony, and it's evident in this extended renewal." Todd Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Zelman issued a joint statement touting their "rewarding" relationship with FX, adding, "We're extremely fortunate to be able to continue to write and produce stories for an actress of Glenn Close's talent and stature."

Congrats to the team.
Damages recently started airing in the UK, on BBC 1. So far 2 episodes have been shown. I assume they were the first 2 but I'm finding it a little confusing. Can't really tell who is scamming who. I'll stick with it for now.

It's meant to be very intricate, very whodunnit, very who's out to get whom ... just when you think you've got it figured out, they throw you a left curve (er, at least that's how it was for me). As such, I totally loved the intricacy of it all. So clever. I never knew what was coming.
