Wow, from what you guys are saying about this show, I'm guessing it's a good thing that I missed the episodes, lol.

It's shame that this show can't have a better plot, I was going to watch it but since the reviews were so bad I won't

@ RichE - LOL! re: Holly Hunter. Interesting observation re: the forcing of the "God exists" angle ... I was wondering how non-believers might interpret this heavy emphasis. Thanks for your thoughts. @ LII - Have you read other reviews of the show? I've been trying to see what people think ... seems kind of split ... like, you either like it or you don't. @ babyv16 - definitely wouldn't want you getting trouble watching this one ... ... it's a little much at times.

I've been reading other people's reviews, some like it but a lot of them don't. I did catch the ending what is up with Kenny's hair, it's looks too blonde.

@ RichE - LOL! re: Holly Hunter. Interesting observation re: the forcing of the "God exists" angle ... I was wondering how non-believers might interpret this heavy emphasis. Thanks for your thoughts. Thanks LK. You always write such detailed and well thought out pieces I thought I should contribute. And bring down the tone. I had to get a reference to Holly's "wardrobe malfunctions" in there somehow A few more thoughts. This might go on a while, and be a bit random, so feel free to skip to the amusing ending. Religion seems to be a tricky subject for American network television. I think the writers/producers/etc. want, at times, to say "there is no God" but know they will get a lot of hassle from a very large and vocal minority if they do. The likes of ER and CSI could easily, because of what the characters have to deal with on a daily basis, show a strong atheist opinion. But they don't. Most of the time the issue is ignored, or there is a subtle pro-religion slant, but there is an annual (at Xmas normally) virgin birth-type story-line which leaves a "is/isn't there a God?" question mark. Along with the Father Christmas/Santa story as well. Is the fat guy with a white beard really him? As we've discussed before Cold Case skirts the issue with the "ghosts", leaving it open to interpretation by the viewer. Even a sporting victory is not allowed to pass without a "thanks to God" type comment. Strikes me as almost an apology. "Yes, I'm rich and famous but it was someone else's choice to put me here so don't hate me for it." That was one of the random anti-religion bits that sprung to mind whilst considering this issue. I do wonder if Saving Grace isn't being somewhat cleverer with the issue than first appeared to me. Only Grace sees Earl (there is another show with a similar device but I can't think of it at the moment). I don't think we can take Earl's appearance in the restroom (ep 2), standing between Ham and Butch, to be anything other than light (no pun intended) relief. Earl could be entirely a figment of Grace's imagination, or at least a version presented to us the viewer (much like CC's ghosts) of Grace's inner voices. The evidence she's presenting to Rhetta (Laura San Giacomo) went from proof (saliva with no DNA) to lack of proof (pigeon feather) in one show. Interesting how the scientist (Rhetta) is a believer. There is still room for interpretation by the viewer. They can get away with being quite "out there" by arguing/showing that they are balancing that with the redemption aspect. Grace is going to hell, but she's not because God wants to help her, and she asked for help. It's a smart move. My guess is that as the season progresses Grace will move "towards the light" with the odd setback along the way. But the season will end with a major issue, setting Grace back a lot. Despite my misgivings on the subject matter, the Earl sections are amongst the most interesting parts of the show. The crime part is, so far, largely in the background. Earl has found himself a challenging one in Grace. There are a few reasons why I'd consider continuing with Saving Grace: - I am curious just where they will go with this. They can't "save" Grace, that'd be the end of the show. Like the "Lost" people getting off the island. "Found" is not likely to be as interesting a show. But, on the other hand, can they continue with Grace's bad behaviour and still have a show about her being "saved"? (You skipped down here first didn't you? ) - What will happen with the old guy that Grace keeps flashing from her bathroom window? Is Grace, one day, going to step out of the shower and find the guy in her bathroom, naked, with a huge lascivious grin on his face, a half empty bottle of blue pills in one hand, and offering her something to hang her towel on with the other?

Which got me wondering perhaps Cold Case S5 should start in a similar manner to the way Saving Grace did It could even involve one of the same actors (I'll leave which to your imagination)

Thanks LK. You always write such detailed and well thought out pieces I thought I should contribute. And bring down the tone. I had to get a reference to Holly's "wardrobe malfunctions" in there somehow Thanks very much, RichE. That's nice of you to say. And you are right ... there a lot of HHWM: Holly Hunter Wardrobe Malfunctions currently on display. LOL! That's an interesting observation ... I think I still look at Touched by an Angel as one of the best "higher power" inspired/themed shows. I always felt they were able to present it in a way that was not forced, yet poignant nonetheless. It was left up to the viewer to believe or not believe, even though Angel Monica always managed to say at least one line (or two) about God having sent her, etc., for the given assignment. I actually miss that show quite a bit. That is an interesting question ... is Angel Earl just a figment of Grace's imagination (Lord knows she's probably done enough drugs and alcohol in her time to warrant hallucinations - LOL!). Could it be the whole thing is one big dream - which it sometimes seems to suggest, given she always wakes up on the couch after her "trips" with Earl. Definitely. It's Angel Earl that I find holds my attention right now. Ha! Good question ... someone wrote about this on the TNT message board. If they "save" Grace, doesn't that mean the show's over?! LOL! Now how did I know you were going to comment on the old guy and his appreciation for Grace's shower routine? LOL!

Now how did I know you were going to comment on the old guy and his appreciation for Grace's shower routine? LOL! Of course, I had to. You'd have been disappointed if I didn't. I did manage it with great style though But what that does to your opinion of me I'm not sure.

Well, I actually liked last night's ep (1x3; "Bless Me, Father, For I Have Sinned"). It was toned down (er, as toned down as it gets, I suppose). Grace was taking care of her nephew for a good portion of the ep, and her supposed suspect was taking refuge inside a church (invoking a right to sanctuary). So it was funny/ironic to have Grace unable to get at the suspect because she was protected all the while still having to go in/out of the church to talk to her. We also got a new Captain to head the squad. I like her much better than Lt. Yukon. Seems she and Grace go way back. All in all, was OK ep. More thoughts over at PTR.

An article I found in the British The Guardian newspaper briefly covering The Closer, Saving Grace and Damages. I'm guess that the writer, Jonathan Bernstein, is American but this is aimed at a British audience. Luckily there's a version on the web to save me typing it out. HERE(I'll post this in the thread for each show)

I watch this show on/off, but I saw the preview for the next episode...it looks really good!!
(Highlight to see what I saw from the 30 second preview of the next epi) Something will happen to Holly. I think she's sick with a disease or something because she screams at Earl and says I'm going to die?? Why didn't you tell me? something like that.

Okay, I didn't get a chance to post in here last week (somehow got myself preoccupied writing up an article that involved someone named ... wait, let's see ... hmmm ... hold on ... it's coming to me ... I think she's on this show called Cold Case ... LOL! ) Anyways, this week's ep was back to the way of the first two. I didn't care for it. Same ol' Grace being same ol' out of control (yawn). I thought they had been on a roll with the previous two eps as she had started to show signs of getting her stuff together, and actually doing some good police work. But alas, this week set the whole thing back for me once again. There are only 4 episodes left, though. So, this first season will wrap up quick. Still wonder how they'll get a second season out of this premise ... I guess Grace will remain perpetually "un"saved. LOL! Some more thoughts over at Pass The Remote.

I can't believe this show got a second season.....man.....I really don't like the episodes anymore...it's getting boring lol. I kinda still like Earl, but that's it.
Must be because this show is on after "the Closer"......I just watch "Saving Grace" on/off....wth was up with last week episode??? Omg....I felt like I was watching a p0rn video...I immediately stopped watching from there and switched to FOX lol.
