It seems as though every network wants to get ahold of Jerry Bruckheimer due to his success on CBS. No plot description has been released yet and the title is certainly different. I wonder what the E stands for.
THE E RING (NBC) - The Peacock is moving forward with its defense-themed drama as the network has greenlit production on a pilot for the project. Warner Bros. Television-based Bruckheimer Television is behind the project with Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman executive producing along with creators David McKenna ("S.W.A.T.") and Ken Robinson

I read somewhere (I wish I could remember where :hammer: ) that this show was going to be similiar to The West Wing, but dealing with the Pentigon instead. It sounds like it might be a good show.

I read somewhere (I wish I could remember where ) that this show was going to be similiar to The West Wing, but dealing with the Pentigon instead. It sounds like it might be a good show. I saw the same thing TVFan. It was just these two sentences in a zap2it article. "The NBC pilot is a drama called "E-Ring." The show is said to be similar to "The West Wing," substituting the Pentagon for the White House. David McKenna ("American History X," "S.W.A.T.") created the show with Ken Robinson, a former Green Beret and military consultant for CNN." source: tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271|92738|1|,00.html

Looks like the pilot is going to be first rate. Oscar nominated director Taylor Hackford ( Ray) has signed on to direct it. It will be his forst foray into television. More from zap2it...I'm really anxious to see this show. It sounds like they have a lot of stellar people involved. Jerry Bruckheimer always puts out quality television with some of the best in the film and television fields.

Here's a bit more info on this pilot. It really is shaping up nicely. Great cast, impressive director. I'm looking forward to this one. THE E-RING (NBC) - Dennis Hopper ("The Last Ride") has joined the cast of the pilot, a behind-the-scenes ensemble drama set at the Pentagon. He'll play Col. McNulty, a former special ops officer in the project, which also stars Benjamin Bratt, the one who's name we shall not say Clarke, Aunjanue Ellis and Leonor Varela. Hopper had been previously set to topline a new comedy project for the Peacock (read the story), which has since been rolled to next season. Taylor Hackford is directing the Warner Bros. Television-based pilot from a script by creators Ken Robinson and David McKenna with the latter executive producing along with Jonathan Littman and Jerry Bruckheimer. source: www.thefutoncritic.com

Dennis Hopper is a nice addition to the show. I'm anxious to see this one. I wonder what night NBC will put it on. It would flow nicely with The West Wing, but I doubt they want to move L&O. They could have it as West Wing's lead-in, but that's risky with no lead-in of its own plus the possibilty that it might not work as an 8pm show. I hope they don't put it up against something I watch now.
