Anyone catch the series dubut of this show last nite on Fox? Some of my co-workers did and they had mixed reviews about it. Fox is showing an encore of the pilot this Friday at 8:00pm. I'll check it out and report back with my thoughts.

I had a promo DVD that came with the TV Guide I purchased last week. I watched it this past weekend, and I thought it was pretty good. I watch The Amazing Race during that timeslot, so I won't be watching House. But if the show lasts the season, I might watch the reruns during the summer.
I thought the gray set was a little much, and the premise was a little too close to Medical Investigation. Hugh Laurie's Dr. House was interesting, though.

No "V-Mars," so I watched "House." Nicely shot by Walt Lloyd ("Karen Sisco," "CSI: Miami" early on). The "Gideon's Crossing" vibe rules - similar gang of young docs. (Paul Attanasio, who wrote for that show, is one of the exec producers.) Andre Braugher's speech-making has been replaced with snappy one-liners. It's really more of a detective show, lotsa "CSI"-style inserts of problems. House & Co. try a bunch of stuff that doesn't work and eventually hit on something that does. Pure genius, like a mechanic who keeps replacing parts until your car runs again. Hugh Laurie has been given a pile of shtick - accent, bum leg, cane. He's as good as the situation permits. Ditto Lisa Edelstein, whom I've liked, in the thankless role of his adversary in administration. Robin Tunney, the Special Guest Patient, did some cool seizures. Can't see it changing anydobby's life, but we'll see. Bryan Singer directed the pilot, and Keith Gordon is lined up in future. I hear episode two dials back the abrasiveness.

I'd have to say the main reason why I watch this show is because House is such a sarcastic jerk.... which just makes things so much more interesting/amusing.... well, atleast for me.

I watch this show during Veronica Mars's commercial breaks, and I really enjoy what I've seen so far. House is my favorite. Hilarious to watch, but I'd hate to have him for a doctor.
The medical aspect is really outrageous, and sometimes the scenes are completely gross. Did any of you catch the episode with the termites and the cat necropsy?

Wow, I'm loving this show. It can get a bit gross, but it doesn't bother me at all (maybe all those CSI episode made me numb :smile21: ). I saw the cat necropsy one not long ago (I'm very behind on the episodes here), and as usual I was impressed by House's brilliant insights. I love his sarcasm and how he doesn't spare anyone of his remarks. I think Hugh Laurie is doing an amazing job.

We haven't finished seeing season 1 here, either. But it's good to know that season 2 is coming! And the season 1 DVD is about to be released (if it already hasn't).

Thanks for the info Ryebeach. I hope the DVDs come out here because this show is definitely worth buying.. I'm not sure if anyone is aware, but Talie, who keeps the Cold Case music site, also keeps a House music site: play.house. Worth a visit. Also, two new episode titles from (highlight to see) Episode 2.02 - Autopsy Episode 2.03 - Humpty Dumpty

The only one ep of "House" that I saw was 1x14 "Control" and the reason was the one who's name we shall not say Clarke :] She was a guest star there and I loved her when she played that sick Carly Forlano. And the series seems to be good, but I had the chance to watch it with an italian dubbing only, so I am waiting for polish tv channels

House is a great show. In fact, I'll go so far as to say: . . . it's my favorite show. Now, don't blast me off the board!! No comparison to Kathryn Morris, none at ALL but the overall program is my favorite. All of the characters are very well developed and 3 dimensional. There are parts of all of them I both love and hate. Favorite House moment that comes to mind right now-- when Wilson saws partway through House's cane so it breaks on him partway through the day. ;D ;D ;D Now, if you haven't seen it, you have to understand, Wilson did it in fair retribution after House had put a sleeping Wilson's hand in warm water to make him pee on the couch!! Oh, boys will be boys at their little sleep over parties! ;D

My fav show at this moment. I haven't been sleeping the whole night -- a coffee, shover and 1x18 of house. I love everything in ths show, mostly House for how he is and Wilson for sticking with such a jerk and for not going mad, haha. Wilson's cute :]
