I've been watching this show since day one. I just think it's so well written and the characters are so rich. Even though it sometimes falls into soap opera moments, I think the show balances it out well with its core emotional and realistic moments. I could relate so well last night to the opening scene with Amy online. I found myself laughing at my own past foolishness through her. My only complaint about the show is the Madison pregnancy storyline. I'm seriously hating it. There's no way to resolve it either. The show doesn't need this element. The characters and their daily struggles are interesting enough IMO. Oh well, it's still a good show.

I love this show! I've been watching since the first episode and all I can say is that it just gets better and better each episode.

I'm not a fan of this show, but I do find the Brown's drama very interesting to watch. I watched mostly episodes from the first season, and I found the (lack of) relationship between Ephram and Andrew very real. (I'm not sure how much this changed during the 2nd season).
My problem is that every time I tune in to watch this show Amy is on the screen, and I'm not really interested in her character.
I have to say that I love the interaction between Dr. Brown and Dr. Abbott. I've seen really funny moments between them.

I've watched this show since the beginning, mainly beacause I'm a fan of Treat Williams. Over the past two seasons, the characters became so well written and distinctly defined that I would tune in now to this show even if there was no storyline just to see these characters interact. My favorite characters are Harold and Rose Abbott. They can be funny and extremely serious in the same scene and Tom Amandes and Merrilyn Gann make it believable. Don't care for the Madison pregnancy storyline. It just doesn't fit with this show. Miss John Beasley's narration this season. I've always loved voiceovers in t.v shows. My favorite episode was last seasons finale, especially the last scene in the restaurant. Powerful stuff.

Ryebeach - I find the whole Abbott family to be so realistic. And you're right, Harold and Rose are great. I also miss the narration. I thought it was some of the most moving bits on the show.

I'm resurrecting this thread from page 3 because of the Rose Abbott storyline. I know you've got to be on needles like I am, Ryebeach.
Last night's episode (5/16/05) was soooooo sad. I started crying when Harold started crying in front of Amy. It was such a real moment, and it was chock full of emotion. I found it so sad that Amy wasn't going to have her mom there for her graduation. It was equally sad that Rose had bought a dress and wanted to attend, but couldn't. Harold seemed so heartbroken when he told Amy. The ending scene where they recreated the graduation was so poignant.
Everwood is such a real show. It captures human nature and emotion better than any show on television IMO. Last night was one of its brightest moments in capturing the true, raw, sad, and complex emotion of having a member of your family suffer through the evils of cancer.

This show is just so real when dealing with any issue. And this latest one is no exception. I've lost so many close family members and friends to cancer over the years and I have to say the way Everwood is portraying Rose's illness is the absolute truth from my experience. The loss, sadness, all the emotions are spot on. The acting continues to amaze me. Thank you for bumping this thread back up. By the way, I just heard that the WB has changed Everwood's timeslot for next season. It will now be showing Thursday's at 9:00pm. I liked it on Monday's but I think Thursday's will be Ok except it goes up against CSI. But I don't know if they reach the same audiences. I don't watch the original CSI so this time slot works for me. I can then switch over to NBC for ER at 10:00pm.

I saw the change as well Ryebeach, and I guess my TiVo will be working over time next season. I bet you're right about the audiences. CSI has a very broad and far reaching audience, but Everwood has a niche audience. The WB likes to go after the niche audience, and caters to the teens, 20s, 30s because these seem to be the hardest people to reach. I know the WB likes Everwood a lot, and the show seems to do well by their standards, so hopefully, its future is secure.
Regarding Everwood's realistic portrayal of cancer, I too have seen it affect loved ones. My mother went through a pre-cancerious scare, and had to undergo surgery twice when I was around 14 years old. It was very scary, but my parents always acted like there was nothing to worry about so I was never worried (she's fine btw). It must be much different for Bright and Amy since they are old enough to fully understand what their mother is going through. Even though Harold and Rose try to stay strong and act like everything is going to be okay, both Amy and Bright know it's a hard time. Harold's breaking down was just so sad because he was trying so hard to keep up the strong front he had built. It must be difficult for him because he has to be the emotional rock, and the glue that keeps everything together while Rose is sick. Plus, he wants to be there for her as much as possible. The family dynamics and struggles in the Abbott family are very true to life.

Thanks for the spoilers Tati!! I just adore Everwood (it's my current second fav show), and I like how the spoilers you posted don't give away too much just basic plot lines. Reading all of these spoilers recently makes me more excited about the new fall season! Only a month and four days away!!!

A spoiler for episode 4.04, from Episode 4.04 - Pieces of Me: Ephram is back in Everwood and is apparently starting to be a piano teacher. Enter 13 year-old Kyle, who really knows his stuff, but is a annoying brat about it.In spite of my previous comment regarding this show, it has kind of grown on me (we get a rerun on Saturday afternoon, right on my lunch time when there's nothing else to watch). There's no way I can add another show to my schedule, though. But, there's something that always got me curious: why Andrew was so against Ephram's romance with Madison? Was it just because she was older?

That was my understanding of it Tati. I think he just realized that Madison was in college and Ephram was still in high school. Knowing the nature of the college/high school relationships, I think he just figured Ephram would end up hurt. In the end, he was correct, although I'm sure he never imagined what happened would happen.

Thanks for the recent spoilers Tati!! The new season is sounding very good. Everwood ranks right up there on my list of favorite shows. I'd say it's my thrid favorite and certainly the most consistantly heartwrenching and heartwarming show I have the privilege to watch.

I've only seen a few episodes here and there, and I figured my impression could've been wrong. Spoiler Fixhas new casting spoilers, related to that storyline (highlight to read): Casting news: Madison (the one who's name we shall not say Lancaster) will not be back this season, and neither will her kid -- at least not in the first part of the season.

Ok Everwood fans, it's time to take action to ensure that this show stays on the air for another season (at least)! As you may have heard, the WB and UPN will no longer exist as of September of this year. Instead, a new network will form as a joint venture between Warner Bros. and CBS Corp. This new network, dubbed The CW, will have current UPN President Dawn Ostroff in charge and will combine programming from both UPN and WB for its schedule. With only 13 primetime hours available, that means a lot of shows are going to get dropped. The only shows that seem to be secure for the moment are:
Veronica Mars (yay!) America's Next Top Model Everybody Hates Chris (yay again!) WWE Smackdown Smallville Gilmore Girls Reba Beauty and the Geek Supernatural Girlfriends
In other words, no mention of Everwood. Things are looking even more grim today because Mike Ausiello from TV Guide (a huge proponent of the show) is reporting that a supposed early draft of the new CW's fall schedule has been making the rounds this week and Everwood is not on it! So, what can you do to save it? Write, write, write! Your letters can make a difference! Write to Dawn Ostroff and let her know how wonderful Everwood is, and how she has to include it on her schedule, even if it's just a midseason replacement (and runs every week with new episodes for half a season). It is imperative that we start writing now because this is the time of year when networks set their schedules. So, get out that pen and paper or sit down on your computer and send a glowing letter about Everwood to:
Dawn Ostroff UPN 11800 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90025
We can't let another quality show go down the drain!!

Wow, I hadn't heard about this. I'm relieved that my beloved Gilmore Girls is safe. Anyway, I hope Everwood makes it... it's a nice show. Is there an e-mail address I could write to? It would be easier for me, being far away... that is, if other countries' opinion matters to them...
