Ok, how many Canucks out there are going to be watching this one??

Can't wait to see what Zack has to say to the contestants this year! I actually think he is more crass than Simon Cowell.

Is this the first season for Canadian Idol? Who are the judges for yours?



I wasn't too happy with our third season. I personally think that the runner up will do well with her recordings. I've already heard the first release from Diane DeGarmo's new album.

Actually Naj, this is the second season for Canadian Idol.
Last years winner was Ryan Malcolm and the runner-up was Gary Beals.

Our judges are:

1. Sass Jordan (established singer songwriter: "Double Trouble", "Make you a Believer" etc. etc.)

2. Jake Gold (producer/manager, got The Tragically Hip started)

3. Farley Flex (producer/performer)

4. Zack Warner (producer/manager) and also the most crass of them all.

The host is Ben Mulroney (Brian Mulroney's son and the host of E-talk daily).

Contestants are drawn from nine cities across Canada.

I'll probably watch on and off. Watching the auditions is really entertaining. I didn't watch it that closely last season mainly because I don't like Ryan Malcolm. It looks like they've got a few good contenders this year-last year's crop was a pretty sorry looking bunch. I probably shouldn't be preaching this but Canada doesn't in my opinion have particulary great singers. We have a lot of really, incredible bands who know how to rock. So I'll watch our of mild interest, but don't expect anything great

I don't recognize any of those names as judges. However I am a big big fan of Jann Arden and Loreena McKennitt.

I agree with there not being that many talented singers Krispy. I don't like Ryan Malcolm either and I don't think he deserved to win. I watch the opening shows for some laughs at the real strange people who audition for the show.
