Is anybody watching them? Any favourite teams? I'm hoping for the Montreal Candiens- they've done pretty well so far... Just one more game to win before they make it to the next round....

My hubby loves the REDWINGS! (Are they still in it? I am not really paying attention to them myself though! I ask him how his Michigan teams are doing and then I don't really remember the answers! LOL!) ;D

Flames beat Detriot the other night (Sorry MrsB's hubby ). The Motor City is history!!!!! I am hoping the [glow=red,2,300] CALGARY FLAMES[/glow] win the cup but I will admit it is a long shot.

You know, I take that long shot comment back. After they eliminated San Jose last night, this series is really going to be interesting. Hockey may come back to Canada yet! P.S. Am I the only one interested in this thread?

Well, since the Detroit Redwings lost, I don't have much to say about hockey right now. HOWEVER, my hubby and I just watched an exciting Game 7 playoff game between the Detroit Pistons and the New Jersey Nets (basketball). It wasn't as exciting as the last game - which went to 3 overtimes before New Jersey finally won, unfortunately for us- but it was good. Detroit WON tonight though and it was the deciding game! We are in the "final four" of the pros now. Go Pistons! (Not that anyone else in here would really care though!)

I'm trying to think of what's interesting in September. Unfortunately, right now is a really nice time-we're having our Tulip Festival. There's always lots of festivals throughout the year the Bluesfest is always big, but I can't remember when that's on. Downtown is always interesting. This is the part where I should tell you to visit the Parliament Buildings, but frankly I find them a bore. If you do any cycling, go along the paths that run the river or go the Gatineau Hills. If you stay downtown and can afford it, stay at the Chateau Laurier. Downtown shopping is always fun and Art Gallery is really nice.If you go out to eat, I recommend Mama Teresa's. If your into some nice pubs in the evening, the downtown has some really fun ones with cute little newfie Great Big Sea-ish bands. Loads of fun. Look for the Heart & Crown Pub. Sorry I can't be much help, I think living in Ottawa my whole life means everything looks boring to me. If I were you, I'd skip Ottawa and do Old Quebec. Just an idea.

Thanks for the info Krispy. Always helpful to get the perspective of one who lives there. Stupid Flames, went for a game seven. Oh well, if they do win my brother owes me 10 dollars.

Thanks for the info Krispy. My original idea was to go to Montreal and then take the train to Halifax, but somehow that all got changed. Old Quebec, I will keep that in mind.

So the Calgary Flames lost Now the Stanley Cup sits in Florida for one year. The really sad thing about this is hockey is not that big in the U.S. Majority of Canada watched the game. Anyone in the U.S. watch the final??
